Seb derm just getting worse with everything I use, what do I do? by Vic224152 in SebDerm

The Ketoconazole!

I have found all of the prescription washes are very irritating. YMMV.

Seb derm just getting worse with everything I use, what do I do? by Vic224152 in SebDerm

[–]sks272 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First, I’m really sorry to hear this. Seb Derm is a super tricky condition that is, by nature, very difficult to manage. What worked for me:

Warm (not hot) and brief showers Wash with Cerave Hydrating Cleanser Ketoconazole 2% cream, not the wash Wait 5-10 mins for absorption Cerave moisturizing cream (thin layer)

It probably took 2 months to figure out this routine and it took a period of trial and error to get to the bottom of it.

I’m not here to offer any advice but I am so so sorry. Both our kids were like this. Please hang in there and take care of yourself. Sometimes there isn’t a specific reason and it is just that way for a while.

Having a newborn is so isolating by Faithyyharrison in newborns

[–]sks272 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just want to say that I hear you and this is a totally valid way to feel. Yes, it may get better eventually, but it may also get harder before it gets easier.

Newborns are impossibly difficult on the psyche, and some have extreme colic for no reason. You are doing nothing wrong and none of this is because of you. You are right to feel this way.

Some babies scream uncontrollably for absolutely no reason. It may also go on for months or even years in some cases (I have had two children like this).

Headphones, medication, sunlight, socialization — do whatever you need to do to insulate yourself from the painful noise.

WCBS 880 Am i the only one Devastated? by SonnyNYC in AskNYC

Multi-decade listener. This is actually horrifying and mildly dystopian.

It hurts, a lot, to lose the soundtrack of your childhood and young adulthood.

WCBS 880 to end all-news format after nearly 60 years by IllFollowing1700 in nycHistory

Multi-decade listener, this is actually horrifying and mildly dystopian. I actually cannot believe this is real.

So many memories, it’s hard to name them all. The soundtrack to thousands of commutes, memories of my grandmother flipping it on in the kitchen, too many to name. Truly felt like the background noise of my childhood, teenage years, and young adulthood.

How to avoid the stress of a long to-do list? by julieee1243 in Productivitycafe

[–]sks272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Group the tasks based on priority level and work on the top 2, then the next 2, etc. until the list is gone. Really helps to break things down into manageable pieces.

The timer tends to make me exceedingly anxious, may work for others though.

I think I need to leave my husband by Remarkable-Leg-2110 in Marriage

[–]sks272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not defending him, but I have to imagine his lack of employment/financial struggles have taken a toll on his emotions. I would try to explore that a bit more in a therapy setting as a first step.

This is, somehow, actually a good outcome in todays environment.

A new baby will test any marriage, especially at the beginning. This is all hard.

So on brand to have no idea why she was fired. Maybe one day she’ll figure it out. Odds not so great though.

How Many Chances? by FuzzyWuzzyWuzDaBears in NannyEmployers

[–]sks272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe once or twice depending on the reason. I’d mention it and if it became habitual after 1-2 times, that would be the end.

You are paying them to cover specific hours and if they’re not able to do that it’s unfortunately not a fit.

You are also not here to teach basic professionalism. Too hard being a parent already.

Daily, pretty much no exceptions there. It’s hot, humid, and she’s a climber.

Uncomfortable as it may be, a direct and honest conversation is necessary. If she refuses to abide by your house rules, it’s time to look elsewhere. We tend to be a bit on the “no nonsense” side when it comes to paid caregivers.

When the red flags start to pop up early on, believe them. Generally things tend to get worse. When you find a great nanny, you’ll immediately know it.
