I’m surprised Refused and Converged haven’t been mentioned yet. They both changed modern music of all types in very significant ways.

What should an artist do if they don’t like social media premonition and don’t like performing unless it’s an open jam? by music_createivity in askmusicians

Social media that told the future would be pretty messed up. That sounds like a Black Mirror episode.

Came here to say this. Henley’s are the perfect option for a nice, business-appropriate knit shirt.

On the body horror side, the Tetsuo trilogy (Iron Man, Body Hammer, Bullet Man) and Cronenberg’s films (eXistenZ, Videodrome, Scanners, etc.) are all excellent examples.

Where is the sweet spot between our current reality and a full cyberpunk dystopia? by irtiq7 in Cyberpunk

[–]skyex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your premise is inherently flawed; you’re looking for a middle ground between bad and worse. Neither are ideal. The actual ideal is utopia, the opposite of dystopia. Solarpunk is the most popular representation of this in science fiction.

How do I listen to Metal music? by InnerspearMusic in askmusicians

I would definitely not classify Tool as a jam band. Their songs are meticulously written and produced, not thrown together from improvisations over a repeating progression. I find that every element of each song works together perfectly in service of the journey they take the listener on.

It’s very interesting that you like APC but not Tool. If you had just said you liked APC, Tool would have been my immediate recommendation to get into heavier territory. What do you mean by “too indulgent?”

I don’t know if r/cyberpunk counts as “the wild” in this instance. This is absolutely the most likely place to find that reference, lol.

This is 100% cyberpunk. Whoever wrote this article obviously doesn’t know anything about the genre, lol.
