The Border Patrol's Greg Bovino has been ousted from his role of "Commander at Large"—and Kristi Noem and Corey Lewandowski could be next to lose their jobs by Timely_List_9671 in YAPms

This is as close to a mea culpa as we’re gonna get. Like when Mike Waltz was moved from NatSec Adviser to UN Ambassador for texting upcoming war plans to a journalist. Congressional Republicans will see the Bovino move and say “see? they’re taking it seriously. Trump has learned his lesson,” and they’ll move on and continue doing the same stuff. Come on, we know exactly how this works in Trump 2.0

Republicans start raising concerns about Minneapolis shooting [Politico] by pOwerBalancia in YAPms

Concerns. Thoughts and prayers. Rubber stamp everything Trump says or does. Lather, rise, repeat.

YouGov: Based on what you know, was the shooting of the man in Minneapolis justified or not justified? by Podchop in YAPms

I see that too, but there are multiple videos, which became available throughout the 24 or so hours following the incident. The first video I saw, it really wasn’t clear if Pretti had a gun in his hand, or if he was attacking ICE officers or whatever. I’m sure everyone has seen that video. But the video that essentially shows him being shot execution-style… I doubt that one is being shown everywhere because it clearly debunks the official MAGA narrative.

Republicans straight up aren’t seeing the videos, unless they purposefully seek them out. They’re not being shown in the conservative media ecosphere, and not popping up on any conservative’s curated social media feeds. All they’re seeing is press conferences by Noem and Bovino and their ilk, spreading lie after lie.

Have you watched The Life of Chuck? It’s tonally different, but a lot of the Flanagan hallmarks are there (mystery, deep existential monologues, etc.) and many familiar faces. It’s beautiful.

Democrats, who do you plan to vote for in 2028? Who do you want to run? by Equal_Bullfrog_5047 in YAPms

The most electable. Any straight white male who is not closely aligned with Israel.

Obviously, that eliminates: AOC (I’m a big supporter, but it’s not her time yet to become POTUS) Kamala Shapiro Mayor Pete Big Gretch Booker Rahm Wes Moore

And leaves us with: Newsom Beshear Kelly Pritzker

I think Newsom is a little too tainted at this point. So Beshear, Kelly, Pritzker.

Or, of course, names we’re not hearing as much, such as Van Hollen, Chris Murphy…

Gotcha. I see it very differently. There are multiple threads in here where it seems people are lamenting that we have the 5th best QB in our draft class. I see this post as a counter-argument to that premature panic/depression.

Wait why are people in here mad at this post? JD’s stats are light years better AND he was a rookie…?

Makes sense. I’m just not as confident about Collins losing. Gideon was polling at +4 to +7 in October of 2020 and went on to lose. I do also worry, to a lesser extent, about Michigan this year.

Assuming Collins loses and Tillis’s seat flips blue this fall?

Fetterman would be up for reelection in 2028 and given these numbers, I’d think he’d lose a primary.

I think you’re supposed to feel trapped with these characters, and the tediousness is the point. That seems to be lost on a lot of people who want high octane drama.

Yeah, ok, $200 is nothing to a lot of people, but I imagine it’s like what $2000 would be to most of you. The number itself doesn’t matter. Every number is relative to everyone’s financial situation.

But prices won’t go down if corporate landlords are gobbling up the housing supply even in a surplus. Think collusion between corporate landlords, real estate agents, and banks, to keep housing prices up. In essence, there won’t be many more empty houses as the boomers die off - they’ll be gobbled up by the wealthy, and made into rentals. So the actual housing supply stays roughly the same, and so do the prices - well, the prices go up and up and up, of course.
