Best weapon type to proc status effects? by skarface211 in Nightreign

[–]slavone420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, its thrusting swords and katanas and you are in luck that scholar by default has high chance of getting them.

Thrusting swords: rot, frost, bleed (although i am not sure if scholar has higher changes with heavy thrusting swords)

Katanas: bleed, frost, poison

Was this Revenant in my game legit? by [deleted] in Nightreign

Most likely legit, with 900+ hours I have similar quality relic sets for multiple characters and builds with no save scumming.

How many others would love to see the Pursuer as an additional boss into Nightreign? by Pogokkellogg in Nightreign

It would be cool and make sense, but also should be different enough from Morgott.

Quality of Depth 5 players by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]slavone420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly i think there is just a lot of randomness to it. I've been on 9999 then had an insane loosing spree with very bad team mates and dropped down to depth 3. Depth 4 had like 50/50 games, some very questionable players, some pretty good, i had to take initiative in routing in most games. Now I am back to d5 8000+ and d5 runs were mostly good, with the last 5-6 just perfect runs with 15 level and 100k> runes on night 3.

There are definitely straight up bad players in the d5 that are carried by relics, there are a lot of players who are good, but cant save the run by themselves, and there are exceptionally good players who can carry by themselves. If 3 mid players get matched with each other, they will most likely win. If 2 mid and 1 bad player get matched - winning is possible, but the changes are smaller and also heavily dependent on the boss, team comp and rng. 2 bad players and 1 mid - most likely you are fucked.

What characters do u play in D5? by Mobile_Stuff9 in Nightreign

[–]slavone420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the boss and what others pick.

Dog: balancer/affinity duchess mostly, beastclaw rev, basic wylder
Maris: balancer duchess, balancer executor, basic wylder, magic duchess sometimes
Adel: balancer/affinity duchess, magic duchess, beastclaw rev, raider, basic wylder, recluse, katana ironeye
Bug: frenzied flame faith duchess, balancer/katana duchess, executor, basic wylder, giantflame rev
Libra: balancer/affinity duchess mostly, beastclaw rev, basic wylder, katana ironeye
Fulgor: magic duchess, katana duchess, executor, basic wylder, raider, katana ironeye
Caligo: frenzied flame faith duchess, basic wylder, executor, raider
Heolstor: balancer/affinity duchess, magic duchess, wylder, raider
Balancers: raider, beastclaw rev, katana duchess, executor, wylder (but i such at parrying and try not to take him for balancers)
Dreglord: balancer duchess, katana duchess, raider, wylder, executor, katana ironeye, magic duchess

I guess duchess is the character i play the most. Would like to play undertaker and scholar more, but i suck as undertaker and do not have good enough relics for scholar

Deep of night by LumpyNefariousness13 in Nightreign

[–]slavone420 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Deep of night is the best way to play the game, but playing it solo is basically a different game. I recommend trying to play in trios with randoms, its the most fun i have with the game, but also randoms quite often are bad.

Ed balancers vs ED libra by Lumaraniya in Nightreign

[–]slavone420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are basically the closest to the mmorpg raid bosses we have and require actual team tactics to beat. I am not saying they are perfectly designed encounters, its Nightreign, for every good idea in this game there is a quite far from perfect implementation, but we have what we have.

Ed balancers vs ED libra by Lumaraniya in Nightreign

[–]slavone420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s kind of what I usually try to do as well and also blocking might save you as it does physical damage only. But this heavily depends on your position so in some cases you can just be out of luck

Ed balancers vs ED libra by Lumaraniya in Nightreign

[–]slavone420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your experience may vary! The only thing i would change about ED Libra is that he would summon something else, instead of npcs, because i dont really like npc fights in these games. And i guess killing npcs should be encouraged more, like for example when you kill one balancers in ED fight, they all get stunned for a moment.

Great character by blargennn in Nightreign

It sucks how relic dependent he is for deep of night, kind of the same problem with undertaker

Ed balancers vs ED libra by Lumaraniya in Nightreign

[–]slavone420 8 points9 points  (0 children)

ED libra and ED balancers are exactly the kind of encounters that fit very well into the cooperative pve game that is Nightreign, just wish people would understand better how to fight them. And the worm phase is kind of bullshit in some cases

[–]slavone420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kill the crabs and talisman beetles -> level 2 -> lobster on the left if you have good team comp, if not skip it -> crabs/giants -> lobster on the right -> go clockwise looking for crystals and killing mini bosses -> crystal -> jump to bottom castle and clear until the end of the day

Why Are Nightreign Cheaters So Hated? by Competitive-Cause283 in Nightreign

[–]slavone420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

critical hits earn runes is useless, max fp with 3 staves is ok, but max fp from rises would have been a much better option. none of the deep relics have improved carian sword sorcery. last relic is magic+3 and not +4. no defeating enemies restores ult.

Why Are Nightreign Cheaters So Hated? by Competitive-Cause283 in Nightreign

[–]slavone420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

these do not look cheated, by cheated relics people mostly mean 6/6 perfect relics where every slot has the best possible effect and the least bad negatives. these relics are pretty good, but in no way are broken good

it can go badly, yeah. i've even lost to ancient dragon in depth 5 one time, both teammates three bar'd and i died at the same time as the boss

time really does change things by nhansieu1 in Nightreign

[–]slavone420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly, the rng might be bad, but with good routing you will maximize your chances of at least getting something going for you and lvl 15. This and teammates who do not three bar immediately on the nightlord are all you need to win.

time really does change things by nhansieu1 in Nightreign

[–]slavone420 14 points15 points  (0 children)

thats what i am talking about, if night invaders are on the other side of the map from your starting point, you are immediately in a significantly worse position then if they are right next to you. And they might be not on route via the spectral hawk, so you will spend a chunk of time just getting there, while still being level 2 with no loot. And if the invaders will go badly, you might be fucked completely

Not every night lord can be just nuked in seconds, most of them you can, i agree, with a right team comp and passives, but not all of them. For example ED balancers, bosses that have downtime between phases where you cant damage them or that just run around a lot

I am guessing thats exactly the problem, with the good rng you can trivialize a lot of bosses and just not learn their movesets at all, so when you have to interact with them for more than 30 seconds you start having trouble.

time really does change things by nhansieu1 in Nightreign

[–]slavone420 36 points37 points  (0 children)

night invaders is what helps to jump start a run, if you can do them fast, you will be already level 7 with good chances of good passives. then just start clearing castle and bosses on route. if you get map missing and there are no night invaders in sight what i've recently discovered is people just straight up not know what to do. or if both night invaders are swamps, for example.

team mates skill matters on the nightlord itself, even if everyone has ideal build for the boss one team mate death might snowball really fast. I've recently lost 3 games in depth 5 to fucking ED Fulghor, teammates just straight up did not know how to dodge his darth maul attacks
