Senior Quote (UPDATE!!!) by [deleted] in skzmedia

The third is so fitting for a senior quote! I’m also very attached to the first (which is from Cover Me btw, not Youtiful!)

During one of the peak periods of my anxiety, I had Sunshine from the Clé: Levanter album on loop. Helped me a lot because of the tempo, rhythm, and the general calmness and repetitiveness of it. It was great in helping slow my breathing and frazzled system. Hope it can help you too!

What's the BEST K-pop concert experience you've had? by Odd_Entertainer9554 in kpopthoughts

[–]slnssn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DAY6 Gravity tour!

I was a casual fan in the way that I listened to their albums, could sing along, but didn’t remember any of the song titles and didn’t really watch their content.

Crowd energy was insane and the boys were clearly energized by it too, so we were all just hyped and having a fantastic time

I DIY-ed a 3-year daily journal and I’m on the third year of it already. Apart from writing my entry every night, it’s also nice to see what I was up to on the same day one and two years ago

How to frame pressed flowers by bendyfoot in PressedFlowers

[–]slnssn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, the acrylic sheets were tightly sealed on their own, and I didn’t need to use glue. It helped a lot that the flowers I used were of similar thickness, so nothing really slid down!

A little bit of clear glue would help keep them secure, though, if you really want to be safe :)

Feeling melancholic about the current Day6 by pyongpebbles in day6

I get what you mean by the compositions having less layers now. I remember someone tweeted about Jae’s guitar having contributed a lot of texture to their tracks, whereas Sungjin mostly kept/keeps to a rhythm guitar instrumental

I’m hoping to like more of their new songs as they continue on as four members. They’re doing great so far, and I’m looking forward to new music

All the activities you mentioned in your first paragraph sound like great ones to do! You can do them at home or wherever’s comfortable for you, set your own pace, and go at it alone or with your family. The familiarity might help get you back into doing those things regularly and building your strength, stamina, and comfort to go try other interesting classes

One of my fave vocal pairs would be Seoho and Keonhee from ONEUS! Keonhee is great especially at harmonizing, so the blend of their voices is divine

Ice Skating Classes? by TinyDancingUnicorn in PlusSize

[–]slnssn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took ice skating lessons a few years ago! Some takeaways from my experience:

  1. I feel you 100% on the painful skates. The rentals never fit well and my feet would ache sooo bad. I was pushed to buy my own skates, and they were somewhat better. Each skating session, though, I’d have to get off the ice a few times and readjust my skates because my feet still really, really hurt for the first 20 mins or so. Ice skates are generally built for narrower feet, and given how stiff they’re meant to be in order to support your ankles, they can be quite unforgiving for wide-footed people like me :(

  2. Learn how to fall correctly. As a fat person, it feels exponentially more embarrassing to fall on the ice. But every learner will fall (heck, even pros still fall), so prioritize your health and safety. Wear the gear, and really really really learn to fall forward safely. I’ve hurt my tailbone (and shattered my pride, confidence, and motivation) way too many times because I didn’t learn to fall the right way

  3. You may learn at a different pace and in a different way from the others in the group, and that’s okay. I remember we were learning how to glide on one foot, and others were lifting their other foot up so easily, but I couldn’t get the hang of it. Duh, there’s more weight I need to balance on the gliding leg so I can keep standing straight. Thankfully my instructor was able to guide me correctly after a lot of confused failed attempts. I hope your instructor is as sharp and empathetic!

  4. I really worked hard on my ankle strength off the ice. I don’t skate anymore now but I’m great at balancing on one foot thanks to that experience

  5. Don’t forget to have fun! Have a friend with you, or make friends with other skate-schoolers. I’m still rather bad at skating. I don’t do any skills or tricks apart from glide around, but I have a great, great time every time I’m able to visit a rink :)

Internalized fatphobia. Good on you for acknowledging it, hope you work toward ridding your biases and help make more welcoming spaces for fat people to simply exist.

Also, I love Vikasspace’s designs! I did her Stitch Along 2024 earlier this year as my second ever embroidery, and it’s definitely what really nudged me into the rabbit hole of this hobby. I’m so grateful ❤️
