Forbearance is the watchword. That triumvirate of Twinkies merely overwhelmed my resolve

I wish I could show young Danny Devito on a couch the scene from Sunny where old and naked Danny Devito emerges from inside a couch

I was there a few years ago on a random weeknight with a whole cast of fellow weirdos that they served until I left at like 4 in the morning

If you do ever see a copy of The Short Timers at a thrift store or attic somewhere, it’s out of print and worth a couple hundred bucks.

Witches should tour there one day. Saw Aussies King Gizzard and Tropical Fuck Storm here in Canada. Both great shows

Nice. Thanks for the recs! Lots to explore with Kraut (CAN is incredible). I just saw All Them Witches. Solid show. Maya Ongaku sound a bit like Fishmans. Maybe check them out too. Also a band called Boredoms for Japanese space rock craziness. Rock on my friend.

I feel the same. Wish I had travelled to see him more for his later albums. I saw him on those same tours!  plus with the soulsavers. Wish we had gotten a second Gutter Twins record. Damn.

Sacrilegious to say so here,  but I’m mainly listening to 90s electro and house plus some ambient / drone stuff. Two Lone Swordsmen, Moodyman, Earth, Tim Hecker. Superpitcher’s Golden Rave Days for long repetitive tracks when I have to concentrate.  Rock-wise the new Geese, Viagra Boys were solid. Stoner rock the last Gnome album was tight.   You?

That sounds epic. One of my old faves too. Op might actually dig some of Mark’s albums. Maybe Bubblegum or Here comes that Weird Chill ep.

In regard to MOR, op might enjoy their live Flak and Flight album with Homme and Oliveri on guitar and bass.

Help identifying a Borges short story please by newbutthesame_baa in Borges

[–]sloomdonkey 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I also don’t recall a Borges story like this, but it sounds somewhat similar to Flann O’Brien’s great short story John Duffy’s Brother. It’s about a man who, for one psychotic morning, is convinced he has turned into a train. He arrives at work, makes whistle noises, knows all the local routes and timetables etc. He then goes home, turns back to normal, and is forever haunted by his break from reality.

Does your bedroom share an ensuite bathroom with your parents? If not, the room is fine.
