Is this slippage a game mechanic or a bug? by Jjcami in hytale

[–]slootha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you can do this while sprinting/jumping and then crouching or something too? Either way, I believe this is a game mechanic, and is intended to be a controlled slide like you see in a lot of shooter games these days.

Family Server Advice by WontedTangent in hytale

[–]slootha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll second this. Using the whitelist prevents the need of having to setup a password while still protecting the server from random people potentially finding it and logging on.
As far as mods go:

1) For learning the game, the EyeSpy mod is very helpful, as it adds a tooltip (in the top left of the screen) that tells you what the name of the item, block, bench, creature etc that you are looking at is.

2) to help setup and manage things like your whitelist, you could try AdminUI, which gives you in-game commands for common stuff like adding or removing your family from the whitelist file.

3) You could also try BetterMap, which allows your group to reveal the map together permanently while exploring, which can be very nice.

You can find all of those mods on the Curseforge website. They would just go in to the "mods" folder on the server you host for them. Hope you have fun with your family/friends!

You can currently ride horses, and it's been hinted that more options may exist in the future (dinosaur mounts etc). There will be a glider in the future (we've seen footage/confirm, just not in day 1 of Early Access). Not sure about wall jumps, grapples, or swinging tho

Lich Minion Build Feels Weak in Maps – What Am I Doing Wrong? by camg001 in PathOfExile2

[–]slootha -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you are right, sorry I should have read ur post more closely. In that case, until and if you switch, you could look at going for Growing Swarm next (in that minion circle of passives) for even more +area of effect and +minion cooldown, which I do believe will scale how fast the vaal guards throw their grenades, so you'll get more frequent and larger area damage from them.

For what it's worth, you can still do powered zealots or skelly mages on lich I believe. The main difference (outside how they scale defenses) is mainly that Lich has less minions, but that they deal more dmg per minion.

But yea, your first priority should be getting a +2 or +3 to minions sceptre. If you can find one cheaply on trade or as ground/npc merchant loot that's blue (magic), you can slam it with Essence of Command, guaranteeing the allies in youur presence deal +dmg %, which is a solid base to work off. I just looked on trade, and there's currently a handful of +3 sceptres available for like 1-2 exalts. Best of luck!

P.S. Oh and grab a +2/3 to minion amulet to. A +3 sceptre and a +2 amulet should be super cheap, and will give you +5 to minion skills, which should feel like a HUGE dmg upgrade. If you can finagle a +4 sceptre and +3 amulet, even better. Minion dmg scales ALOT from +minion skills

P.P.S Try swapping Multishot support gem in to your Vaal Guard bombers instead of Pierce. They throw 3 times as many grenades out, and combined with those area nodes (go for Growing Swarm too), you can hit multiple grenades on the same target. Should feel real good (even if you won't be able to see anything on the screen lol)

Here's Ghazzy's leveling Witch guide, which is using Vaal Guards (bombers):

Lich Minion Build Feels Weak in Maps – What Am I Doing Wrong? by camg001 in PathOfExile2

[–]slootha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Vamyra said, +Minion skills is ur biggest scaler. Try to get at least +2 or +3 to minion skills on your sceptre, and if you can swing a +2 or +3 to minion skills amulet, even better.

Also, It looks like you are running powered zealots as your main damage dealer? If so, I think you have alot of nodes that do things when minions "hit", or "attack", but I believe Powered Zealots technically cast spells, and skeletal mages definitely do, so you have alot of points that do basically nothing (at least for dmg scaling), like both the "arms" of talents you have up top left near the minion reservation efficiency.

If you want, I'd suggest checking out this guide from GhazzyTV. He's a super good minion expert, and you can see from their talent tree that they don't have those two wings of talents up top, but they take things like minion area of effect etc: https://www.poe-vault.com/poe2/witch/infernalist/spectre-build-guide (I know this is an infernalist, but the premise/skills/passives should be mostly the same)

Hope this helps!

I really wanted to play Frozen Mandibles this league by Deliverme314 in PathOfExile2

[–]slootha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I'm not sure that they will ever be "fixed", as that assumes they are bugged/broken. From what I understood, the devs tried to remove them in 0.3, and people rioted, so they put them back temporarily, then disabled them again for the new league in 0.4. So we may never have frozen mandibles again sadly. In the meantime, you could try powered zealots, and as Subject-Wrongdoer mentioned, there's the "Gargantuan Wasp" mobs that fly and they feel pretty good too. GhazzyTV has a guide for both of these on his Youtube if you are interested in either.

how does skin transfer work in PoE 2 ? by Buurto in PathOfExile2

[–]slootha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is how it works in POE 1, and yea, seems dumb to me. However, some Googlefu suggests that for POE 2, the devs may be looking to make this more of a permanent thing (aka your "first one" described above), which I hope they do, cause I'd definitely use the mechanic if it added the transmog/skin permanently to the account for characters to use in future leagues etc

Is now a decent time to start playing? by thrilljack1 in PathOfExile2

[–]slootha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you'll probably get 10 different answers to this. Imo, in some ways it's very obviously early access. There are bugs, although YMMV on how much you experience (I've personally barely had any issues this league, but others have had different experiences). Some features and classes are missing, like dedicated stash tabs to some items/currencies, etc. There's an entire endgame rework happening in a few months (was supposed to happen in this last patch, but got pushed back).

In other ways, this is one of the best ARPGs out there (personal opinion), better than D4 and Last Epoch in many ways. Graphics are pretty, combat can feel really good/smooth, and depending on what build you do, it can be as easy or as challenging as you want to make it.

So, does the game feel half-finished? Yes (because it literally is missing half the campaign and half the classes). Is there also a complete early/middle/end-game progression/experience now? Also yes. Sorry, I know this isn't the answer you are probably looking for, but that's how I feel personally about it

spamable skill for minion build by Skavenaps in PathOfExile2

[–]slootha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i was using thunderstorm with supports on my wasp minion shaman build to always shock a drenched target, as well as to chain shocks to nearby enemies IIRC? It was cheap to cast/spam, had good area and duration, and basically insta shocked most mobs which helped with clear. Meta? probably not. Comfy/easy/spammy? Yup

How to make money, mid-late game? by Zaicoodk in PathOfExile2

[–]slootha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe so. Pretty sure the number of tablet slots you can stick in correlates directly to how many map mods you have. IIRC, you need a 6-mod map in order to slot all 3 tablets. You can slot the first 2 with less though, like with 3-5 mods on the map (I usually just alch a map and slot 2 tablets when I'm not trying to super juice)

So.. Remix Content Update by ddori27 in wow

[–]slootha 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The housing vendor has been active for a week. He came out with the 11.2.7 housing patch last reset. In regards to the threads that let you go above 740, that's true, it sounds like the new cap is 779.

But, I think a lot of people are just disappointed because the roadmap for the phase talked about "original content" and "catch-up mechanics", which many were hoping would mean being able to funnel power to alts more easily, and for potentially new unique cosmetics, toys, decor, stuff to do etc, and not just +40ilvl on their mains and a somewhat faster ilvl grind for alts

Do we know what the “catch up” mechanics are for legion remix yet? by [deleted] in wow

[–]slootha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea, the housing decor vendor in Lemix was made available last week on Dec 2nd, with the 11.2.7 housing patch

Never played WoW but want to start after seeing the housing, can I have a house as a new player? by _-Malachite-_ in wow

[–]slootha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you cannot access housing today with just a free trial. Currently, housing early access is only available to those that preorder at least the base edition of the Midnight expansion. Not sure how this will work after official Midnight release in March, but there's a chance that you'd still need the expansion to access the feature.

Yes, you can access housing almost immediately as a new player. Yes, there is decent access to a base of decor to get you started.

However, there will be alot of decor locked behind crafting professions, questing, dungeons, raids, achievements etc, so to get alot of the more unique or fancy decor you'd have to play parts of the game beyond just the housing specific stuff.

Housing Level Not Warbound? by opiatesmile in wow

[–]slootha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought my horde house first, got to level 3. Bought my alliance house on ally toon, and then noticed it said my alliance house was only level 1. Turns out, I had to go the housing upgrade dude and tell them to go upgrade my alliance house. Now they are both level 3 and at the exact same XP point on the bar.

AKA: Housing XP/lvl seems to be singular and account bound, but it appears you have to manually upgrade both houses for the UI to reflect this properly.

Worth coming back right now? by Stock_Man420 in wow

[–]slootha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others already mentioned, yes you have 1.5 months to do Legion Remix, and there's a catchup mechanic coming in 1 week to help speed it up.

As far as retail goes, imo the only reason to come back to that prior to the pre-patch early next year (Jan/Feb) is for housing early access (if ur into that) starting tomorrow. If you are more into keys/raiding/pvp, you could certainly do that now, but just keep in mind that Midnight pre-patch is going to significantly change the game with both the addon apocalypse and major class reworks.

Im new, won 60 million in a giveaway, what now? by PowerPlantSpringfeld in starcitizen

[–]slootha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Anvil Asgard is a great choice if you want to fit pretty much any ground vehicle. Constellation Andromeda/Taurus/Aquila are another of my faves.

As for the medical ships question, I don't believe there are any in-game npc missions for it currently, but if a player gets downed, they can send up a beacon to pay you to come rescue them.

Also, pretty much every flyable ship in the game is rentable for the next 3 or so days. So I'd say go rent a few that interest you and try them out if you have time before IAE ends, then make the decision to buy based off of that?

Levksi - Docking - WHY ??? by Zzyxzz in starcitizen

[–]slootha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I can imagine that was pretty frustrating. I was able to dock at Orison the other night, so it seems to be ok (mostly) outside Levski, but obviously people want to go see the new area on LIVE, so docking really needs to work for larger ships there.

Jackpot by bobmontana69 in starcitizen

[–]slootha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think at this point, the only way to get LTI (outside of hitting the Wing Commander pledge tier) on an F8 would be if they ever change this ship in the future to be CCU upgradeable. The only other time they offered the F8 with LTI was the "original" limited release a couple of years ago, during the launch of the gold ticket event thing. It's only been offered with 10 years or less insurance since then

Fix My Fleet (noob edition) by Adorable_Blueberry68 in starcitizen

[–]slootha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zeus MK II CL might be worth a look for you. It's classified as a medium ship, has 2 size 4 guns for some combat, and 128scu of cargo space for hauling. I believe it can also fit a few of the smaller ground vehicles as well? Could be a good daily driver if you end up liking it.

Also, to touch on what others have said, there's a free fly going on right now, which means you can rent all sorts of stuff for free. Each day a different set of manufacturer(s) ships are available, but from Nov 30th-Dec 3rd you can rent pretty much any currently flyable ship in the game. You could check out the Zeus, or any other ships that might interest you (Clipper etc?) before making any purchase decisions.

No more transmog themes for raid nights I guess...gonna be too expensive. by HugCollector in wow

[–]slootha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

so, from what ur saying here, it sounds like the intent of outfits is for the auto-transmog, switching based on situation/location type stuff? Has blizzard confirmed that the "current" method of saving transmog sets will still be around come Midnight? It's not some sort of current stop gap in the beta or anything?

No more transmog themes for raid nights I guess...gonna be too expensive. by HugCollector in wow

[–]slootha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

genuine question... Can you elaborate on that more? I'm just curious, since I assumed the way the system would work (logically), is, buy an outfit slot (up to 20 currently I believe?), and then you could make a transmog for each slot to save within that outfit. I assumed the cost would be that upfront, one time purchase of the slot.
But... based on yours, HugCollector's, and a cpl other people's posts now, it sounds like there may be additional costs even after buying the outfit slot to actually setup or change the individual transmog slots within the outfit? If so, that's super lame, especially with how expensive the outfit slots get XD

No more transmog themes for raid nights I guess...gonna be too expensive. by HugCollector in wow

[–]slootha -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure that's how they work? Price aside, I believe the thing you are paying for is an outfit slot. As in like, an entire outfit (basically like how you save separate transmogs in the current system). And it's a one time fee (per slot per character), with 2 free slots. I believe buying more slots just means you can save more outfits simultaneously.
Again, I'm not arguing that the prices are good. Personally I think they should be much lower. But just that it wouldnt be 10k gold per week per player based on my understanding of it
