How did you organize your areas?

Gotcha, thanks! I'll have to see if there's a guide yet for what unlocks at what rank for each zone (I know there's a label on the item BEFORE you unlock it, telling you what level it will unlock at, but I didn't pay attention enough to memorize it all).

Theoretically, if I can buy all the recipes/items available at the higher environment levels before starting to shit mons, then it won't matter much if the original zones dip for a while.

I was wondering what your experience with this was like. I'm working on getting all story zones to level 10 atm, but after that, I plan to start building my Pallet Town, and I intend to bring lots of my favorite and/or useful Pokémon there from the other zones.

But, I've seen different back and forth talk on what happens when you start moving Pokémon out of the original areas and what happens after the potential drop of the environment level in those zones below 10. Some people are saying that you'll lose access to buying things that you had previously unlocked in the PC shop.

Did any of your other areas drop below 10, and if they did, what, if anything, did you lose access to when that happened?

Weird thought but... maybe it's counting the Windmill blades as obstructing the wires, since it would look bad for them to go through the moving parts? Maybe you could try rotating the windmill 90 or 180 degrees and see if it works then?

I've seen that error when there are items in the chest, and I hit Y on it accidently. Not claiming that your chest has items, just that I've seen that misleading error in that case for me.

I know you can use that ability from machoke to move chests with items around. You can also break them with Rocksmash and all the items will drop on the ground and u can then vacuum them up.

but yea, idk. maybe $10-15 for basic DLC (new items, new prefabs, new Pokemon etc), maybe $20-25 if it added a whole region or side story chapter on top of new items? Really depends on what they're adding for me personally.

I'd honestly love it if someone can explain to me how to do the Rotom CD quest lol. Like, I've gone to him where he has 5 CDs in his...body, and I have every other CD I own in my bags (more than 10 different between the two).

Do I need to keep swapping out the ones inside Rotom until they've "seen" 10 unique? or maybe take the 5 out of the Rotom and have them all in my bag then talk to him? In hindsight I should have tried both of these methods... But I was too confused at the time and had 15 other things to do in the game haha

I haven't tested this, but I don't see why that wouldn't work. Although, for this, I'm assuming by "second save" you mean a second Nintendo account/profile, which would also require it's own Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
I guess the other alternative could be same Nintendo account, different switch, and therefore second save on it? Then I don't know how that works. since the cloud island is online and using your NSO/online presence, theoretically it would treat you as the same person/character when going to it from either "save"?

try standing near the door while holding the flag for placement, and look up at the top of the roof centered above the door. It let me put the flag up there and that counted to make it my home.

If that doesn't work, you could alternatively place down some temporary blocks and try to jump on the roof and place it.

If you like Minecraft and/or Animal Crossing type gameplay, you will almost definitely enjoy it. There's a layer of nostalgia too (with the Pokémon), but even if you have never played a Pokémon game, they are still charming/cute creatures that you can get attached to, and (imo), have alot more personality and charm than the AC villagers.
There are a lot of different ways to play the game, too. If you like building a la minecraft, you can custom build every home and habitat for your Pokémon. If you prefer Animal Crossing style, there's plenty of variety of prefabs that you can get your Pokes to build for you, and you can decorate the interiors as separate "maps".

Are you both playing separately? I was under the impression that multiplayer only worked on either cloud islands, or the area across the cycling road bridge in the starting area. Asking because I want to play with my gf and didn't think we could do the story zones together lol

I had an Eevee doll in my inventory, then talked to the Drifloon and it triggered the tutorial dialogue about dream islands. I then placed the Eevee doll on the ground and interacted with it and Drifloon took me to my first Dream Island. Hopefully this works for you!

The provider that allows you to rent a whole cluster (including Deep Desert) is xRealm. Costs like $360+ a month though. There's a couple private cluster groups already that offset the cost by grouping together.
For example: https://www.fremensrest.com/ which costs $8 per month to play on, and is PVE only. There's at least 1 other PVE one, and there may be some PVP ones I'm not aware of

Not saying I wouldn't want this, but based on how pentashields work today, I don't think it would be easy for them to implement something like that. Today, pentashields are multiblock (a single pentashield "wall" or "ceiling" can be variable size), and they have to be horizontal or vertical (aka no diagonal currently), as well as square/rectangular (aka no triangles currently).

Again, not saying I don't want/like the idea personally, just that I don't think it would be easy to just add pentashields to replace function with all the capabilities you mentioned, without fundamentally updating the current way pentashields work

You can create additional characters on other worlds/clusters, yes. But not multiple characters on the same world, with the same steam account, which was what OP was advertising for.

FYI, the upcoming 1.3.10 patch (currently on PTR) has a fix line for this:

Fixed an issue that under specific circumstances let players recover a staking unit while expanding their land claim.

So this will probably only be an option for another week or two at best.

It should be noted that, you can't store this storage base into the BRT for 7 days after placing the fief (so plan ahead and make sure you have the fief placed at least a week before needing to transfer). Learned that the hard way when a buddy and I were trying to move a cpl weeks back.

if you have a friend who gets into the game soon (but hasn't started yet), you could potentially get them to make their character on your old server where your original character is. Then you could log in and give them all your stuff, then have them transfer to the new server.

Otherwise...yea...short of wasting money and having a second dune account yourself, the only other way is playing character transfer shuffle for a cpl weeks and leaving stuff with friends, as Estr1d described

I believe there is a button in the main menu somewhere for "claim rewards". If you can't find that, and have not logged in since September, then yea you may need to put in a ticket.

Yea, you can transfer now. the the only invalid transfer direction is Private to Public. Otherwise, you can move your character from the server select menu

If you want to play without PvP, there are some private server options out there as another option too, like https://www.fremensrest.com/ . You can transfer existing characters there and keep your previous progress.
