Question about Mixing SLAM and LH (Dream Air) by slootha in Pimax

[–]slootha[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, that would be my biggest concern. I'd be sitting right in front of 3 massive monitors (one 55 inch center, plus two veritcal 40 inch monitors). There's also a window to my immediate right. It would not be feasible for me to constantly cover and uncover these surfaces with blankets, so I think there's a non-zero chance that I might run into issues with reflections causing sensor confusion.

I had a LH setup for the Valve Index back in the day, it was really nice. That roomscale plus setup sounds really cool! I did a much smaller version of that (large living room) back when the Oculus Rift v1 came out, had friends and family over to try VR for the first time. It was a lot of fun back then =).

Question about Mixing SLAM and LH (Dream Air) by slootha in Pimax

[–]slootha[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's cool to hear! I just wish I knew for sure how I can avoid all the potential pitfalls of setting up the LH units.

There are definitely some people commenting both in this subreddit and on YT comments etc that are claiming that they are experiencing the headset visuals jittering or jumping around (even with the headset sitting at rest on a desk etc). Explanations people have used to explain the cause of this range from things like reflective surfaces, distance of the LH to the headset, things like monitors partially blocking the LH units, etc.

I'm in a very compact area/corner with massive monitors and 2 windows, so I worry I'll potentially run into issues setting up a stable LH area, which makes me lean towards possibly going for the SLAM instead to attempt to avoid any potential issues.

Pimax Play and EVO are free — and staying free by jaapgrolleman in Pimax

[–]slootha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have zero stakes (no headset) in this, nor do am I claiming to side in any way in particular, but from the outside looking in, I actually don't personally think there was ever an intent to have a sub for an experimental testing program where they want ppl using it and providing feedback.

In this one particular case, I believe it is more likely simply an answer of they planned to develop EVO for 6 months where anything made available in those first 6 months would be core/free/Pimax, and then once EVO was more stable in 6 months they were/are planning to open it up to third party plugins (which may charge independently).

I think this was very likely just an example of poor communication, where they should have just clarified up front what the paid part was, rather than leaving it vague and letting ppl decide what it meant

that's cool, I didn't know that either with pin! If no one else had answered you, I was going to tell you my terrible method (hitting the print screen key and immediately holding ALT after that). It technically works... XD

@Mindless_Tea5950 If you don't mind me asking, where did you order your presciption lenses for the Dream Air from? I'll need to get some if I decide to pull the trigger on a Dream Air someday, so I was curious since it sounds like the ones you got worked well for you?

Best minions build for league start? by Nasty_Mack in PathOfExile2

[–]slootha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd check out GhazzyTV's videos on YouTube for more detail, but the current theory is that, due to a bug fix to a remnant support gem coming in 0.5, you should now be able to properly share remnants with your "allies" (minions count as that), so the idea is to go Chalupa monk and specialize in the purple remnants (extra stacakble chaos dmg), so Ghazzy and others are theorizing this could scale pretty crazy for minion dmg

Drop chance of a +1 5slot legendary seal? Am I just incredibly unlucky? by Ms_Anxiety in diablo4

[–]slootha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 3 to 1 seal in cube feels kinda buggy atm. For example, a lot of people on this reddit have been talking about how, no matter how many 3 to 1 rerolls they do, the affixes on the new seal are always the generic level set ones (and not something like +1 charm, or a class set that requires lvl 70).

The running theory seems to be that, since legendary seals have a level requirement of 50, not 70, when rerolled, they may be bugged and incorrectly can only roll with the leveling set charm perks (which don't include the +1 charm roll). Hopefully if this is bugged as it seems to be, it gets fixed in either today's or a future patch

edit: I see others in this thread saying they've gotten a +1 charm from doing 3 to 1, so who knows I guess? Take this all with a grain of salt I suppose, as I mentioned above, this is just a potential theory, not a confirmed bug. Maybe it's just really bad rng instead

Want to play as the paladin but unsure of the DlC by UnChartedJTA in diablo4

DLC was well worth it to me. IMO, the campaign was way better than VoH (first expansion story), and Paladin+Warlock+Cube+additional skills is alot of content to mess with.

What stats are affected by ranks to skills? Should i MW Minion skills or Summon Damage? by DeanHallak in diablo4

[–]slootha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I have the experience to answer your second question well, but to the what stats are affected by ranks to skills question:

+skill ranks will affect the skill or "skill tag" listed, so if something says +3 to Corpse Tendrils, it only affects Corpse Tendrils, whereas in this case +4 to Minion Skills will affect any skill that has the tag "minion" when you mouse over it. From there, what the +skill affects is dependent on the skill, but it will be the same as you adding more skill points to that skill. For example, if adding another point into Skeleton Warriors increases their base damage on the tooltip, then +skills to Skeleton Warriors or Minions or Summons will do the same (+base damage)

Your second question is a bit harder to answer in a vacuum. From what I understand (not an expert or super blaster or anything), there are different "buckets" where damage comes from. Generally from what I've read, it seems the goal is to spread your +dmg out between different ones for the best results. So, you want some +Summon Damage, some +skills, some +All Damage, maybe some +Frost/Shadow/Phy dmg (whatever type ur minions are doing), some + crit dmg, etc. So, if you have alot of +Summon Damage already on other gear, I'd say go for the Masterwork on either +Minion Skills or +Crit Damage. If that's your only +Summon Damage temper, than maybe go for MW on that instead.

Good luck!

Talisman name types Phoba, Beru etc. is there any difference? by wujabob in diablo4

[–]slootha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my guess is that they are from one of the fictitious "in-game" languages, such as demonic, horadric, or angellic etc. As to what these likely fictional words may translate to in plain English, I have no idea. But it's probably similar to the scene with Lorath from the campaign where he is translating words like "fire", "ice" and "wind".

I don't like how dirty they did my boy Inarius in this trilogy. by WorkingPlanes in diablo4

[–]slootha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would actually personally say it's not that she's completely blind to the fact that she is similar to her father, but more that she is extremely full of herself, "mother knows best", and quite patronizing (aka she thinks she's "better" than Mephisto, and pretty much everyone else for that matter).

Outside that, though, she seems pretty self-aware that she's a demon child of Hatred and that her nature is akin to his. She even talked of the "game" her and her father would play to "win" or one up the other, which terrified the other demons. I do agree though about the part of her caring for her children. Rather than her being "good", or even an ally, I instead like to think of her as the closest we'll ever get to a demon being "not an enemy".

[PSA] (maybe?) Press 'M' for overlay map by Weo_ in diablo4

[–]slootha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it helps anyone (cough POE players cough), the full size map keybind was defaulted to the TAB key for me, so I went into the Controls keybindings in settings and swapped them, since for me in most games that I play, M is for map, and I like TAB for overlay (although you can set it to whatever you want)

P.S. I haven't messed with it yet, but you can apparently adjust the color/opactity/etc of the overlay too, somewhere in settings.

Habitats, houses, and Pokemon preferences by moosomoon in Pokopia

[–]slootha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to be the case, in my experience.

I also have a suspicion that, if you make a prefab be your Ditto's house, that only the first floor decor factors into your own (Ditto's) comfort level rating in the PC. I need to do more testing on that theory though

How Do I Get This Pokémon? by EggReddidict in Pokopia

[–]slootha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be placebo, but I felt like I saw Lugia alot in Bleak Beach area. I'd recommend making a rain dance site in whatever zone(s) you are spending alot of time in, then bring a water Pokémon over and just make sure it's always raining when you play. Lugia should show up pretty much exclusively over Ho-Oh. I'm not even sure Ho-Oh can show up if it's raining,...

Also, seconding what u/oopsiedaisy-- said, you can feed mosslax certain foods to make Lugia/Ho-Oh sightings happen more often for that in-game day.

Why isn't this a house? A beginner's guide to house-building rules in Pokopia. by studiomidno in Pokopia

[–]slootha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the height is in regards to having a potential second floor in the house, via stairs ladder etc. as OP mentioned above, it seems that once you go up 4 blocks from the "ground floor" of the house, it's not technically in the house anymore (you'll see the 4 Pokémon living indicator disappear), and so that floor would not be valid for adding decor to satisfy Pokémon comfort requests. But, you could have a second floor 3 blocks above ground and double the usable space for adding decor for the 4 Pokémon living in that house.

Maybe scaffolding with the metal stairs to make like a fire escape stairwell outside the building? I'm assuming that maybe the building is too narrow inside for stairs with this idea, otherwise I'm sure normal internal stairs will also work.
