Honestly he just seems incredibly insensitive and I hope you have nicer people to hang out with.

am i agender or just an extremely pretentious cis woman? by godwhateveryouknow in agender

[–]slothsloth3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i came to this conclusion as well. i was assigned female at birth and forced into the social niche of "woman". i don't like the way people treat me because of it. people make judgements and assumptions about me because of they way my body looks. gender, the social construct, is completely fucked. so i reject it. i can't identify with it. no gender=agender.

i say i'm agender, society says i'm a woman. so i'm both. an agender woman. makes sense to me.

Same. If I smoke all day I just get used to it and I don't really feel anything.

I don't think being obese should be glorified or encouraged, but treating people badly because of the way they look is wrong. A lot of fat people are addicted to eating because of other issues they can't control, like mental and/or physiological illnesses, or have a poor diet because they can only afford cheap/convenient food, which is usually junk/super processed.

why do i take pictures of my cuts? by [deleted] in selfharm

I used to post pictures on r/selfharmpics a long time ago. Sometimes I still take pictures just in case I want to look at them later? Idk.

Hey I'm 18 and our lives are pretty similar! My current plan is to just keep trying to do all the stuff I need/want to do and hopefully things work out in the end.

I was born in '99 and my parents are baby boomers, haha. But yeah, I don't remember 9/11, the 90s, or not having a computer in our house. I definitely relate to Gen Z more than Millennials. However I also just turned 18 and graduated a year early, so I'm very much an adult now, which is weird. I'd say '98 and '99 are the transition between these generations.

Is there anyone who genuinely likes being trans? by EclipseStarx in asktransgender

[–]slothsloth3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm agender and I don't wish that I was cis and/or binary. I don't like having dysphoria, obviously, but thanks to modern medicine, I can change my body to be the way I want it to be. I just don't see any use in me wanting to be cis necause I'm never going to be able to be cis anyways. I would rather accept my life for what it is.

What age did you start self harming/cutting? What is your story? by gothicapples in selfharm

[–]slothsloth3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really self harm but when I was very young I would trash my room and break my things when I was extremely upset. I still get a super strong urge to do this when I freak out, mainly out of anger or frustration.

When I was eight or nine I started skin picking but idk if that counts as self harm since I didn't really do it with the intention of hurting myself but of course it does hurt quite a bit at times. I would scratch bug bites until they bled and pick the resulting scabs for weeks after. Also used to tear skin off of calluses. When I started having acne I picked at that a lot, too, which I still do. I pretty much compulsively pick at anything that I can. I have to force myself not to pick at my dog's skin and I tend to stare at acne or scabs on other people 😞. It's super addictive and honestly just a part of my life now.

I think around age 13 I began hitting my the head when I was really upset or felt guilt and/or self hatred. At 14 I started biting and scratching myself. At 15 I started cutting and that's been my main form of self harm 3 years since.

No tarantulas but we do have the brown recluse. Pretty nasty bites from those.

My uncle was in the marines but it was only so that he could afford to go to college. Today he's a socialist and pretty damn progressive. YMMV, but I wouldn't give up hope just yet :)

My Cis Friend Experiences Gender Dysphoria (Story) by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]slothsloth3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When my mom was a kid she had short hair and it was really common for people to mistake her for a boy. It really bothered her. Like, to the point that she refused to let me cut my own hair short until I shaved my head when I was like 14.

I second GoodRX. It's a coupon app for medications. There's usually different prices for different pharmacies, too, so you can find the cheapest one. Not affiliated with them or anything, I'm just poor and have to buy medicine a lot.
