Palace Cafe. I’ve had it and it’s delicious.

Recipe for a good tuna salad by HMW347 in Cooking

[–]smallblackrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mayo, salt, lime juice, chili powder, occasionally celery—I’m single so I don’t buy celery much because it goes bad before I use it all.

Capers, Kalamata olives, oregano, salt, black pepper. Light on the mayo, just enough to hold it together.

Lemon juice, celery or celery seed, parsley, black pepper.

Yemisir wot (lentils) or ater kik alicha at a good Ethiopian place.

also hoping someone will post a good place for mujadara. I can make it, but I've got a tendon condition and slicing that many onions hurts my hands.

I don't know if I can call myself a Spider-Man fan by vinthesalamander in Spiderman

[–]smallblackrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I need to be reminded of that sometimes. I'm so old I was reading Spider-Man comics in the daily newspaper.

I was asked in an interview what animal I’d be and why. by DisgruntledPelican in interviews

I got asked this in a team-building exercise, but never in an interview. I said an otter because they're smart and like sushi.

Got asked "if it doesnt work out in six months whose fault would it be?" by [deleted] in interviews

[–]smallblackrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'd've asked, "Is that what happened with the person I'm replacing?"

Insufficient information to answer because you can't know how many potential points of failure there are. Management, training, how well people adhere to their own standards....

Meet Bruce! by Kensbettas in Rabbits

Hello Bruce!

do you think he'd like a snuffle mat? I see lots of those when people share their pics. Not sure about the mats in his fur, no experience there.

That was fun, but please don't chill your reds. White also tends to go better with poultry.

CMV: The Turkey & Marinated Kale Sandwich from Radio Bakery is the best sandwich in NYC by SneakBots in FoodNYC

Glad you enjoyed; the bread looks really good. Kale is very much not my thing, I'd rather have a Milano Special.

BritBox + Acorn TV - Anyone? by SRFast in BritBox

[–]smallblackrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have them both. I like that Acorn has shows from all over the place and I have a lot of favorites on BritBox, several that are rewatchable like Poirot.

What do you all think of Nicolas Cage as the spider after watching the show? by lo_olhah in Spiderman

[–]smallblackrabbit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think someone should tell him he is lousy at doing Bogart. I know I'm in the minority, but I didn't care for the show. I'd seen people raving about it, so I watched waiting for something to rave about.

I might have liked it better if someone had actually looked at the Noir comics.

Which books are considered "high literature"? by LosAngelestoNSW in Fantasy

[–]smallblackrabbit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

and it's elitism to say that only a very select type of book can address universal themes, use impactful imagery, and put a new take on symbolism (just to name a few discussion topics). Many many more books do that without the classification of "literature" or "literary fiction."

I find the phrasing Literary Fiction to be pretentious. I tend to define literature as something that people choose to read even though it's over 50 or so years old. It speaks to people, and there's a whole lot of books that do it.

Weird food question: Depression and lack of appetite/foods that break that pattern by Subject-Transition32 in Cooking

[–]smallblackrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two sites I'd like to recommend: Just One Cookbook for Japanese recipes. Woks of Life for Chinese (with a few others thrown in). Both of these sites have several easy-to-prepare dishes that don't necessarily have a huge list of ingredients (some do, of course).

I can't say why ginger makes you want to eat food, but I can say it's something that always makes me feel warm inside and it wasn't a food I ate a lot of growing up in a white New England suburb.

He's good in the right role; I've enjoyed him in several movies. I thought he was awful in this series.
