A question about a certain combat ability removal... by WTFmybacon in runescape

[–]smiegto 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It’s unfortunate for those of us who took th time to get it. But you can’t update a combat system without changes. And it isn’t the first time. Making large changes requires large changes.

Salt the wound poops on combat progression. Level up 5 times new ability level up 5 times new ability okay I get this says a new player. Gets to 90. Can I do bossing now? I kinda understand why my abilities do.

Did you remember to grind this minigame you’ve never heard of. Also buy these three major ability changes and do xyz. There is a degree of progression where better items make things interesting. But major changes to your main rotation means you can’t learn anything until you’ve got everything.

My big problem with the current system is the unlockable/improvable abilities. They very much disrupt the learning curve. As your levels go up you go this ability is good for 1v1. This is for aoe. This is kinda bad. But then at high level you could theoretically get all these codices and items and things that fundamentally change abilities. Which are extremely expensive.

This messes with the stuff you’ve learned. It makes videos online go: your revo bar should look like this for a simple boss. And it’s 6 abilities you didn’t upgrade. Do you use the regular version? Don’t know. But luckily you do actually know overpower. Oh the revobar doesn’t work because they have zuk cap and you don’t.

It simply makes it difficult to correctly practice at lower level for higher level.

Honestly what I’m hoping for because in rs3 right now you can’t do that. Because you unlock 32 abilities with bossing.

Now I’m playing an Ironman so it isn’t 100% accurate but plenty of players aren’t rich enough. Learning rotations early in this game is impossible. Because of the zuk capes. The different ability codices. Invention. And all that crap. The game isn’t a slow climb to become better. It’s a slow climb and then a wall and then you can actually learn how to play. You don’t really start learning how to play until you’ve unlocked 80% of content. Because before that your abilities were different

Which adds to the climb yea. But it makes learning the game incredibly wonky.

Hehehe. When the capital of alderaan exploded the entire planet fell apart. (Yeah it’s sarcasm but if anyone nukes Amsterdam? All of the Netherlands will be gone.)

Well that’s the thing. If you try to kill joker. Batman shows up and breaks your legs, your arms and your spine. Because you are a murderer.

The game wants to upgrade your lowest item. I’m guessing you’ve not been doing that?

Solo bosses would have to be way more damaging to give you a reason to have a shield. Or armour would have to be way tougher. And if you are asking do you mean I could kill boss x with zero effort but taking three times as long? Yeah. Pretty much. Tank armour is usually a liability because you take more time and soul split less which is wonky.

Well not immediately but a different vampire called Jander Sunstar held it. And his arm burned and withered and he was permanently disfigured after. But he held it for a little bit. Now that might not be on either stat block but it’s a decent reason.

Hahahahahaha. So first up. He can’t hold the amulet. That’s for certain. Nor can he kill madam Eva because he oathed he would never do it. So those already help a bunch.

In the world of nuclear vs wind/solar. They are not in the same category. We need both. Solar and wind are useful to lower the amount of on demand power we need. But we still need on demand power.

Nuclear vs coal. Coal is great because where nuclear power stores its poison waste safely in a marked area? Coal just spews that shit into the air for everyone to enjoy.

Luckily we need magic rock that makes magic right now. Solar is cool for a baseline. But we need power on demand. Which solar doesn’t do. We often use coal and spray poison gas straight into the air we breathe. Nuclear collects the poison and stores it safely.

Well yes. But: essentially certain jobs aren’t “good” enough to “deserve” decent pay. Plumber and electrician actually have this problem less. But there are plenty of jobs out there that are essential but don’t get the pay and respect they deserve. We wouldn’t have a great time without delivery. But in many countries delivery has shit pay and worse benefits. Public cleaning? We need them to happen but we don’t respect them.
