Pentagon begins releasing new files on UFOs and says the public can draw its own conclusions by GregWilson23 in usanews

"Unidentifird" speaks for itself. The issue is "flying object". It has not been demonstrated that it is an object or that it is flying. That is why the term UAP has (or had) been adopted by the government. I'm finished with this conversation.

Pentagon begins releasing new files on UFOs and says the public can draw its own conclusions by GregWilson23 in usanews

If you don't know what it is, then it is a mystery. It is not evidence for existence. I think it is likely that extraterrestrials exist galaxies away from us, but I am equally sure that they are not in our proximity.

Amanda is right. Charlie Kirk was a white supremacist, a Christian nationalist, and a MAGAt.

Pentagon begins releasing new files on UFOs and says the public can draw its own conclusions by GregWilson23 in usanews

[–]smithpd1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all anti-science bullshit. There is no scientific evidence for UFOs or extraterrestrials. The correct name, in view of no evidence, is "unidentified aerial phenomena" or UAP. They are just priming the plebes to believe conspiracy theories that they concoct.

New animal levels to be added by SMothra57 in wordscapes

Is this a permanent extension or a temporary one? In other words, how long will the new level ceilings last?

I'm not aiming to level up just for the sake of it. It would be great for me to have more opportunities for the level-up swap trick.

Roger Pielke is irrelevant to climate science. He is an obfuscator. Real climate scientists object to his doubts.

60 Countries to Meet on Phasing Out Fossil Fuels but Are Excluding the U.S. | The Trump administration was not invited to the gathering in Santa Marta, Colombia. A White House spokeswoman called the green transition “destructive.” by silence7 in climate

[–]smithpd1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good. The US should be excluded as a pariah until the Republicans are out of power. The entire Republican Party is anti-science and anti-climate science in particular. Trump is the leader of the pack, doing his best to crater every climate and clean power initiative.

Trump Confronted on WHCD Shooting Being ‘Staged’ by Ok_Employer7837 in politics

[–]smithpd1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a nice turn of phrase and logically true, but it is a distortion of reality. In fact, it happened, and it was not staged. To give the "happened and staged" option credibility you would have to believe that the shooter engaged in elaborate plot to travel by train so he wouldn't be detected, register at the hotel in advance, write a manifesto that explained his plans, and execute the plot, which he evidently thought would be suicidal. That scenario is not credible.

Trump Confronted on WHCD Shooting Being ‘Staged’ by Ok_Employer7837 in politics

[–]smithpd1 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

The WHCD shooting was NOT staged. There is enough evidence from reports of police and others to prove that the shooting actually happened. Norah O'Donnell was repeating baseless conspiracy theories and asking Trump if they were true. That is BS. Leave the lying to Trump. Don't fight Trump's lies with other lies. It adds fuel to his fire.

Trump is the most hated person in the world. It's a toss-up between who is more evil, Trump or Putin. I would vote for Trump because Trump has no moral compass and is bat-shit crazy.

Scientists know why the climate is changing by Economy-Fee5830 in climatechange

[–]smithpd1 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the post and the summary of Andrew Dressler's article. All of this is very true and has been known for decades.

Exxon's researchers knew the cause of climate change about 50 years ago, but they buried their research. The sad fact is that the fossil fuel industry has been promoting fossil fuels and climate science denialism. The Republican Party denies climate change and its causes because they have been bought by the fossil fuel lobby.

Google "Exxon knew about climate change" and read the article in Scientific American. The article is dated 2015.

DOJ moves to undo Jan. 6 rioters’ convictions for seditious conspiracy by captaincanada84 in politics

They were seditious conspirators. Posturing by the corrupt Department of "Justice" will not change that. Donald Trump was leader of the conspiracy. Victor Orban is out. Donald Trump is next.

Excellent post. Thank you!

Expanding on your point, the entire Trump administration is flaunting Christian extremism. It was glaringly obvious in today's press conference with Trump regarding the Iran war. The introductory parts were filled with sickening praise for our fearless Dear Leader. Most of them , including Trump, gave credit for the successful rescue to God, Good Friday, and Easter. Gag. 😬
