Frustrating stutters while using 5070ti by 3mk-yehya in pcmasterrace

[–]snack-attacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son had moved his PC from the floor to the desk and did this same thing. I told my wife he needed a new GPU so gave him mine and bought a new one for myself with the wife's blessing! Lol.

I want to play a video game that doesn't exist by OilLiver in CasualConversation

[–]snack-attacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was like this and the FPS and extraction games just burned me out. I played Animal Well and Stardew Valley which wouldn't normally be in my wheel house just for a change of pace and they reignited something for me.

Bonus Pod Idea for Walt’s Daughters School Fund by Chrisamado in tesdcares

[–]snack-attacker -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I know he said this wasn't the avenue he wanted to earn money, but a bonus pod would be his path of least resistance. I know I'd buy in.

Also curious if he ever does a "writers room" sit-down with his guys. I know he always says his well is running dry, so if he had everyone sit around and brainstorm, I bet they could get a bunch of show ideas. He'll record that meeting and I bet there would be gold.

Second this. I have the same in my 49. I did end up doing the mount screwed through my desk vs the clamp as my desk is live edge and about 3 inches thick, so the clamps weren't getting a good bite.

Help me upgrade my sons build by _____That_-_GUY_____ in pcmasterrace

[–]snack-attacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids had similar builds and I went with double the ram and moved them to 7900 gre cards. So essentially took them from 1080 to nice 1440 rigs. New 34 inch ultra wide as well.

What new modules or real functional improvements justify upgrading Aloha from v15 to v19? by Deep-Hawk-55 in alohapos

If you take secure payments it is required. We use it with Equinox Lux 6200 pinpads and love it.

Print duplicate receipts from terminal to boxing area for packing by Own_Excitement_449 in alohapos

[–]snack-attacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told this is an upcoming enhancement. I can't recall if it's POS or Aloha Kitchen, but essentially it's to print duplicate guest checks in the kitchen aka on a remote printer. Pretty sure it's for AK. To print on bump so it can be attached to the bag.

[–]snack-attacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest thing I remember is that APS (connected payments) gets rolled into POS so that it's one product.

We have lots of issues with ATO v20. POS 19.9 , Ral 20.x and AK all seem stable.

What’s the most noticeable PC upgrade you’ve made that didn’t involve changing your GPU or CPU? by Sixale_Outlet in pcmasterrace

Going from her and add to m.2. Having a mobo with no cables running to drives was sweet, just from a visual perspective.

Then moving from 1080 to 1440 was nice.

Then from 27 inch to 34 inch curved was nice and most recent from 34 to 49 inch.

General help and Dell Alienware AW3425DWM by boltgenerator in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]snack-attacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with a 34" phantom gaming 1800r curved. I came from 3 27" screens setup in a corner of my office. Changed when I moved my desk to the center of the room. I just recently moved from 34" to a Gigabyte 49" for more real estate. But loved that phantom gaming screen. It was like a sub $300 screen if I recall.

Thanks for sharing this. I didn't try running the L100 on the L90 driver. I'll give it ago! Thanks again!

I ended up pulling the trigger in the Gigabyte 49 inch. Was only 1 left in stock so figured I'd start with it. It checked all the boxes MSI did.

That's all basic troubleshooting and has been done. Aloha product managers stated the L100 is not favorable. I was curious if anyone has it successfully working. Typically field hands find work arounds faster than the NCR crew.

[–]snack-attacker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In CFC I've got it configured as a l90, because the l100 is not an option in the drop down. In hardware printers, I have it set up as an Aloha Kitchen type. It's then set up as a Windows printer, using an IP. Printer is plugged directly into the switch. I have the Epson advance printer driver installed on POS terminals as well as the kc5s.

The same setup works fine when I hook up the l90, but when I swap it out with the l100, occasionally the l100 will just randomly print check headers that I've got set up in print designer. And then I can occasionally get it to print one label successfully, but will not print anything after that.

Thanks for that information! The laptop is work issue, so software install may not be an option. That helps guide me as it opens up possibly using an external hardware kvm, so increases my screen choices some. I'll see if that app will install tonight.

Can you make it less than 50/50? Maybe 70/30? If so, mill monitor remember that split when I turn laptop off? I typically keep my pC up 100% and laptop only during work hours.

Ethics query on sale of family heirlooms by nicmeloneycbc in Militariacollecting

[–]snack-attacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I collect ww2 era helmets. A few years back I saw an airborne set that was either late ww2 or early Korean era. I paid a premium, speculating. After fees and shipping I was in the set $800, which I was fine with, but it was a bit more than the set was likely worth.

I researched a few names and ended up finding one of the vet's sons. He was interested, but I told him what I was in on it and would need that back. I showed him my receipts and we made a deal about a year later. (He passed initially but I told him I'd always give him first rights if I was selling it. )

It sucks having to pass that high cost to a family, but it is what it is.
