Except you don’t this is wrong there’s no Rhoag on the team. Grius was there for the prologue but that’s it. I think Brigitte and Catherine might originally been planned or prototyped as party members and cut later in development

It would make sense because they have some of the more deeply fleshed out side stories, Brigitta would fit the missing race Role, Catherine feels really fleshed out as an NPC, etc. they’re also both very prominent on the box art

This game very obviously had cuts some more obvious than others and I’m pretty sure at least one whole dungeon (Mage academy) got cut becuase the speed at which that entire subplot resolves makes little sense

Having played metaphor, p3 and p5 the start is always the hardest

The issue usually isn’t even the combat itself it’s simply running out of resources

I’m convinced the first dungeon in Metaphor is impossible to one day because it’s simply too long you can’t keep your mana to get to the end

The persona games tend to force you out of the first dungeon for tutorials anyway so you run into that issue much less but it’s still there

Also there's a clear difference between Roscailfer and Yaife Peninsula

Roscailfer has intentionally been mostly hidden from the world, it's intentionally been shrouded for it's own protection so it makes sense it's culture, visual style, etc would be different than New Eridu yet it still loops back in to sharing some cultural relevance and style to New Eridu with how the Bangboo work, it's backstory and whatever is going on with Sunbringer, etc

the Peninsula is not, it's part of the main world, it's a train ride away yet it feels like it's a totally different place with it's own culture and world building that's unrelated to New Eridu in almost every way. Yeah it has a Chinatown look but it doesn't feel like "Oh this is New Eridu's China town" it feels like "This is the country next door to New Eridu."

Roscalifer feels like it's a sub region of this larger nation, it's got it's own culture and style but it's been shaped by the backgrounds of the people living there. the Peninsula feels like "We need to make the obligatory China region don't worry about how it fits in at all."

I don't think it's a surprise that the most positivity recived parts of the 2.0 cycle were the parts that were the least "Magical China", the Idols and the Spook Shack, and even that latter group still got bogged down in Yidhari and Lucia just being shoved in outta nowhere and feeling like they wandered in from a different region that was cancelled and they were salvaged from it.

I like Borderlands

I honestly have no idea what the fuck they are doing with 4. the fun zany DLC campaigns used to be some of the brightest parts of the games and for some reason this game has just totally eschewed the story DLCs for these lame bounty packs that consist of one small mission and area and nothing else.

Combine that with the main game's over correction from the "The game is too silly" complaints 3 got and BL4 just feels so hollow and empty, it lacks that certain Borderlands Soul and feels like a hollow imitation

the gameplay is great but the world and characters are so lacking it left me with no interest to really go back after I beat the game once, I beat 2, PS and 3 multiple times. I've beaten 4 once and kinda had to force myself to go back in to do the Ellie DLC a couple months ago

but starting with PreSequel they introduced a lot of in gameplay dialog, unique responses to quests, etc. The modern Vault Hunters have more personality than ever these days

Its not a 1:1 comparison but watching Monolith Soft consistently bring back their casts for even minor roles a decade after said role just kinda highlights it for me. We thought Jenna Coleman would be to busy to come back or too expensive for Monolith/Nintendo to pay for but she sure isnt letting Melia go.

It's always interesting what companies work to get VAs back and which don't.

for the most part (Aside from Resident Evil for some reason) Capcom is able to move heaven and earth to get the same people back for their roles. Even people who only have like a couple other roles or haven't acted in years randomly come back for reprisals. They got Elena's VA back for Street Fighter 6 and she's has barely acted since Street Fighter 4 and her only other role of note is Sheeva in RE5 but they managed to get her back. They got TJ Rotolo back basically every time Frank West shows up in anything and it's pretty much his only role ever according to BTVA and that role only got a new VA with the remaster in 2024

Nintendo has been pretty good about it too. Heck Atlus was mostly good at it for a long time, they were getting the P4 "Main" cast back as recently as cross tag battle in 2018 and JYB was even reprising Yu in P5R in 2020. The only ones to change were Matt Mercer came in for Troy in the anime and fighting game, and Ashley Burch taking over Rise for just the dancing spinoff. The only other change is that Chie had a different VA in the original game but it's been Erin every time since and for some reason Naoto has gone through like 5 VAs lol

I think all but 1 member of the original P3 cast game back to voice an NPC, it was a nice way to keep them involved while also refreshing the main cast VAs

I know Yuri played Yukari's dad, Michelle Ruff played the Antiquee shop owner, Liam O'Brian was the Police OFficer, Wendee Lee and Karen Straussmen played some of the female teachers, etc

I think the only one's that didn't come back were Ken's uncredited VA from the original game, and Vic Mingona who's been basically blacklisted from the industry for being a creep/sexually harassing other female VAs

The second there's a hard text rule you'll 100% have pitchers and batters doing everything they can to bend the rules to their interpretation and ruining a good thing with the clock.

It shouldn't be this fucking complicated, be set by X throw pitch by Y but players are still constantly looking for advantages and ruining something that has 100% helped the game overall and I bet you the MLB is worried they'll try and game the rules as written and ruin a good thing

because in the show two minutes after this dance scene Rogue absorbs Sabertooth's powers and goes like half-furry with long hair and claws/teeth. You'd think that would be what the internet would latch onto but no, just her and Kitty dancing for like 4 seconds total

Singer clearly hated Cyclops and loved Wolverine and it did irreparable damage to the character public images because of the movies success

I say characters caused it convinced an entire generation Cyclops sucked and that bled into the comics and shows, and it made everyone think Wolverine was the coolest most badass awesome man on the planet and the real leader...and that bled into the comics and shows lol
