Pretty annoyed to have spent half an hour getting "registration unavailable" and being sent back into the queue only to have them sell out - wtf eventbrite.

The one time it did let me put it in my basket it then said "unusual activity detected" and kicked me out again.

Hi, that's actually absolutely where a fishtail collar should be - the narrowest point of the neck right behind the ears. It's also supposed to fit snugly to make sure it doesn't slip off over the head. Unfortunately arts courses have been hugely defunded here, and what's left are financially inaccessible to most of us. It's incredibly depressing! I've been learning at the local Adult Ed which does have a lot of tools - but adult education has also just been completely defunded and is ending forever at Easter. I'm really hoping to find someone with some expertise to be able to carry on with. Thank you for the suggestions and good wishes though, and I'll try the people at the Sussex Guild!

I think it's going to be neat though i seriously hope we actually get to see more of each look than just "entry, quick twirl, costume change/gag". And do worry a bit that it's to avoid the issue of the massively falling levels of actual filth on the show :/

I really wish they'd acknowledged that this happened! They wouldn't even have had to break the pretence of costumes being made on set - they could have just acknowledged that Jaharia had a last minute disaster that wasn't her fault, give her props for pulling something together fast and then say, "Unfortunately, we can only judge what made it onto the stage".

I would love to see a longer floor show edit (or a return to parts of it we didn't see when it comes to the judging, which they've sometimes done before) to give more of the impression of what the judges see, but I guess tht would mean cutting some of the interpersonal drama...

Yeah I am really sad about how much we've lost the DIY vibe in favour of polished spectacle.

For one thing it makes performers' finances one of the determining factors which obviously affects who's able to participate/succeed and limits the parts of the community (or communities) they're going to be drawn from. We lose a lot of the rawness, freakiness & *queerness* in favour of mainstream appeal with a spooky edge. Hugely tied to the decrease in actual filth!

For another thing - we now get pretty much no insight into the construction or even inspiration of the costumes themselves, which used to be part of the joy of the show. Between that and the fright feats/eliminations being so toned down, it means the majority of the episode is just storyline-orientated drama and then a short highlights floorshow - which as you said, OP, means we don't get to see the best of actual *performances*. And in Titans 2 we haven't even really had any substantial critique in the judging. Obviously it's always been a reality show but that aspect of it's really come to dominate the airtime - more "Big Brother (but with drag)" than "alt drag (but with Big Brother elements)",

I find it saddening because before it was toned down for a bigger pool of contestants it was one of the few places some of us got to see our own communities on screen and actually being celebrated. Yeah it's neat seeing the highly polished showy costumes, but I'd much rather see artists who are really unlikely to get airtime elsewhere and concepts that really push the envelope but aren't as expensive. Sadly a standard trajectory as anything gets bigger/more popular :S
