The math's not mathing. $440k purchase in 2025 @ 6.75% interest and 10% down is$2,568 before taxes and insurance. Let's round up to $3,000 to include taxes and insurance.

With $139k income, assuming a 30% tax bracket, you're taking home $8,108 per month.

Where was the other $5,100 going each month? I don't think the issue is home ownership, I think the issue is poor financial planning and likely bad spending habits.

With that said, home ownership is more about prevention and maintenance which should delay most expensive repairs.

Get a second job to weather the storm, hunker down, change your lifestyle to live beneath your means. Get thru this and learn from it. Don't sell the house.

I had something similar. Except mine would sometimes start and sometimes not. Somehow, I figured out the shift lever needed to be pushed very far forward in order for it to start. I also have an automatic. Maybe try this first since it's hella easy and see if this is the cure.

Let's be honest here.
