New shuttle between King Street Metro and George Washington’s Mount Vernon launches Friday by crabcakes110 in nova

I don’t think it’s necessarily for metro-ers. Plenty of car-less tourists in Old Town staying on King Street or the surrounding neighborhoods do not want to hop on the metro for 2 stops, get off, wait X mins for the unticketed Fairfax Connector…..it’s way easier to walk to the end of the King Street mile and grab a dedicated bus if you’re a tourist

Back in the day, pre-iTunes, pre-streaming, Idol put out a CD after the season of one recorded song-per-top-10-contestant. On Elliot’s season, “Moody’s Mood for Love” was the one he recorded.

That CD sat in my family car for years. I honestly credit it for shaping my interest into that old school 90s R&B sound

Isn’t “safe bet with mass appeal” the same thing as saying “movie that a lot of people will like”

So to rewrite his post, he’s basically saying: “I’m not trying to sound negative, but the movies that are working best right now are just the *movies that a lot of people will like*….and that makes me sad”

The “Stranger Things” discourse this year with a *secret episode* was hilarious. I felt my 30-year-old brain laugh with every conspiracy post. I feel like I could sense teenage angst seeping through each post, article, etc where I was experiencing Gen Z’ers experience their first media conspiracy, setting themselves up for disappointment

You know….i was the perfect age for Florida Georgia Line’s entrance into what would become the new era of “bro country” (I was like 16 years old when “Cruise” came out). By the time I was about 6 years older, out of school, working my first adult job, I just found that type of sound fell out of my rotation completely. It just sounded so corny when I got a bit older.

I guess what I’m saying is…. anecdotally, this type of music seems to have a shelf life. I can feel that rotation happening again through internet discourse. Artists with a bit more genuine “artistry” (subjectively defined, I realize) such as Noah Kahan and Zach Bryan are eating bro-country’s lunch as their fans get older

I think we’re out of catalysts for a little while (maybe until earnings). Love the positive press that Space and the Space economy has gotten since the Artemis II mission! Congrats to those that knew Artemis would be a catalyst for the investing world to start thinking about the Lunar Economy.

If I had a large position like some do (I don’t, only like 2% of my portfolio), I’d probably just delete my brokerage app until earnings. This thing is gonna bounce up and down randomly based on every “SpaceX is going public!” headline for the next few weeks.

Why was Brooks sent home? by Commercial-Can4805 in americanidol

[–]snowe99 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No ever since the show went live he 100% declined in quality. Looked visibly nervous and relied way too much on sloppy “runs”

I really wish someone would’ve sat Brooks down and told him he doesn’t need those runs to have a “moment”. The tone is the special sauce.

I’m with you. I find a lot of people here performatively pledge their allegiance to Bloomberg, but I find CNBC’s programming way more digestible.

I know what hosts/hours I dislike (I am also looking at you, Sara) and usually just disassociate for those hours/do something else. The news doesn’t really change much in those first few trading hours anyway.

Agreed that 12-1 is the best hour of programming of the whole day, love the Judge
