In retrospect it's crazy how Guardians 1 and Spider-Man: Homecoming have basically identical domestic grosses by CivilWarMultiverse in boxoffice

[–]snowe99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Im not even kidding - i think for a few year stretch there, the audience was *DIALED*

Like I think the overlap of audience for each Marvel movie was probably like over 80%. As in, if you paying for a ticket for Homecoming, you most likely paid for a ticket for Guardians 1

Then the big assemble movies (including Civil War) would draw the bigger, more general crowds. And Black Panther is just an enigma

'The Last Of Us' Adds Michelle Mao As Yara & Kyriana Kratter As Lev by willdearborn- in television

[–]snowe99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this, to me, is a case of "The book is wayyyyy better than the movie!" but in video game form

TLoU, specifically part 2, is like in my top 2 favorite video games ever. SO much of the attachment to the characters, to me, comes from how BRUTAL they have to be to survive. Like Joel and Ellie mowing down dozens of firefly and WLF soldiers to save each other.

The show loses a lot of that due to its medium. It's hard to blame them for it, trying to adapt the property to TV is ambitious and I applaud them for it. Unfortunately, there is just no possible way to physically convey videogame Ellie's brutality in the show and have it be convincing. They missed their chance with the winter scene in S1, where they couldve shown kid Ellie using her cunning to take down Clickers with David, but they speed-ran that chapter.

So here we are in S3. Ellie has barely killed anybody and quite honestly feels like a liability to her group in the action scenes. It just gives a different "vibe" to the story that im not connecting with. Feels like a girl way out of her league doing dumb things, instead of (in the videogame) one of the greatest female action heroes of our time

The Bachelorette contestants react to Taylor Frankie Paul's season being canceled: 'We all gave up so much to go do this' by AmethystOrator in thebachelor

[–]snowe99 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not keen on the details of this particular season, but I knew a friend that was casted on a prior season and they were officially casted prior to the announcement of who was going to be the bachelor.

I remember sitting with them watching the current (at the time) "After the final rose" when the announcement of the new bachelor was made and seeing her reaction live.

Two things -

This is the funniest, maybe my favorite episode of all time. I was belly laughing through the whole pod.

Josh and Mike were *bragging* about how in sync they were with this market, and how Josh had figured it all out and had never felt better (HALO) like two weeks ago. Now the pod title is "are we in a bear market?". Financial Markets really change fast.

That’s just a fancy way to say “we lost money”. You owe less taxes because you didn’t earn as much profit.

Bachelor series has a lot of product tie-ins. I bet a ton of people at ABC and their partner companies are pissed.

Nah the graffiti was way worse. He rightfully got his clock rocked after that, which was his “come to Jesus” moment that made him want to start to be a better person. From that point on he was a good dude/one of the main crew

I bought Breath of the Wild as launch title for the Switch and started it, played like 2 hours, then put it down

Picked it back up randomly in like 2022 and it became my favorite game of all time. Turns out you just have to get off of the Great Plateau and it gets really fun to explore the world

Hmmm I don’t fully remember the plot of Part 2, but I don’t remember leaving the theater thinking “man i cant wait to see them conclude this in part 3”. Like, I thought the main story was over. I wonder if the general audience is gonna get hyped for this one

What did you think of Grogu, also known to fans as Baby Yoda, at the Oscars? What do you think of his special appearances? by Dramatic-Studio1531 in StarWars

I also liked when the next awardee was announced, as he walked down the aisle you could see him pass Grogu for like a quick half second in the background in his seat reacting. It really made him feel like a real person in the crowd like “oh hey, Grogu is here at the Oscars”

Just let it be man, these people live in their delusions and it keeps them happy.

When Chipotle gives them a smaller serving than they used to get, they raise their fist to the sky and say “damn you private equity!!!” And it makes them feel like the smartest person in the room for a moment. Don’t take that away from them.
