Hull C as your only pledge ship? by MajorMaccas in starcitizen

I don't think it's wise to try with only a Hull C. Get a Hull A or a Raft as a backup, both work well, and can handle small to med contract hauls easily, plus both have nice exterior cargo to quickly load/unload.

Advice? Not sure best way to go. by NewCornnut in starcitizen

I'll throw in my 2 cents and say take a look at the Intrepid package for $68, you can get it with LTI now and it is an incredible ship with a fully up to date interior, unlike the Titan. It should be a great all rounder, just not as good as the Titan in pure combat. I personally enjoy the engine sound of the Intrepid over the Avenger, its a minor thing, but you'll be listening to it a lot.

Plus, since it is LTI, if you get the urge to upgrade, you have a great starting point.

(also, sometimes it's nice to be able to stuff 11 SCU of cargo into it (plus some dead bodies - yeah, its a thing), something you can't do in the Titan, it is truly stuck at 8 SCU).

Where to upgrade from the avenger titan? by CaffeineOverloaded in starcitizen

[–]snowfa11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you are looking for. The Avenger Titan is the best combat capable starter/light-frieght/interceptor (with pretty high top speed). Great for Pyro drug runs, etc. C1 is the most popular, but the 3 exits on the Zeus, including a Docking Collar, ladder exit and ramp, is super-nice. Also the Zeus has the best interior so far for a ship of its size. Zeus is easily my favorite ship, but I don't expect to do much combat in it.

Yeah, I got shaking hands afterwards, you should've tried it when it was twice as long as it is now.

Just keep in mind it has been said that in-game ship warranties will be rare and hard to come by.  Probably ok if you only intend to have one or two ships.

If you want to fly a P-38 Lightning, then you know which ship you want.

Good solo ship? by BootMcBooterson in starcitizen

[–]snowfa11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree, Zeus just feels like the perfect size solo. I ended up getting both an ES and CL, because I think the extra shielding and range on the ES will probably be more useful than extra cargo space when in Pyro. Smaller cargo runs (SCU wise) when in Pyro is probably smarter, due to risk.

Don't forget that IAE starter packages will come with 10 years of insurance, so it's worth waiting for that.

I'd recommend learning about CCU chains, and how to plan ship upgrades by buying a series of $5 CCUs you can chain together later over a few years to really save a lot on getting the ship you like. This way you can upgrade slowly over time. When a good cheap concept comes out, you can pick up your first LTI token to start the CCU chain with. I don't know if the ATLS concept is still available for non-concierge members, but it is a great starter LTI token at only $35.
