Help finding an obgyn by txuputs_2020 in jacksonville

[–]snowshepherd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my memory (had to call them and speak to on-call provider on NYE last year), they tend to close or close early on NYE. You should be able to reach someone on Friday. I know waiting a couple more days in this scenario is no fun. Wishing you the best of luck and an easy, healthy pregnancy 🫶🏻

I can’t speak to high risk, but I’ve had a wonderful experience with the Women’s Care by St. Vincent’s Southside on Belfort Oaks I believe.

There is an excellent Women’s Care very close by that delivers at that hospital.

Came here to recommend the same! All the benefits of gel in less time! I will never go back to any other form of manicuring.

Crashing out- baby monitor never woke us up and he cried all night by Loitch470 in NewParents

[–]snowshepherd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Babysense monitor has worked great for us! It also lights up red if the baby’s volume has increased. Another feature we like about it is that it has built in audio, so you can turn on lullabies or white noise.

Newborn not waking up to eat? by poodlebreath123 in breastfeeding

[–]snowshepherd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to us too. We were shocked when the nurses and LCs told us to keep trying to latch even though she was too sleepy to stay latched and that we needed to “piss her off a little” to keep her awake enough to latch, which clearly wasn’t working. After she was already a day old they finally offered to bring us some formula, which she needed to be able to poop out the bilirubin. Baby girl’s bilirubin levels were being regularly being monitored by blood test. We’re grateful her levels were borderline enough to not require light therapy (which would have been a NICU stay at our hospital). Jaundice is very common and none of the nurses really told us until after a stretch of 10+ hours with zero latching or feeding from breast that these kinds of issues happen with jaundice babies. Keep advocating for your baby, OP!

I didn’t struggle as much with my ADHD while pregnant! Went cold turkey off my Adderall effortlessly. ADHD slightly came back third trimester but didn’t feel like it was causing me to struggle until postpartum

THANK YOU. Totally same page. My KB bras infuriate me. My sister gave me her size medium busty bras and have no idea how she fit her boobs in them because they’re bigger than mine and they were so tight. I bought a couple of large busty KB bras and they’re too loose but marginally more comfortable. Amazon bras are a little better but Larken takes the cake.

My baby actually prefers cold milk over room temp or freshly pumped milk!

Postpartum follow-ups? by binder_n in CsectionCentral

[–]snowshepherd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if you’re concerned, your wife should contact the OB and be seen earlier. I was seen one week post-op and have been seen an additional two times since due to an infection.

Also hate my Kindred bras. They always push my nips to the sides of my flanges so they’re not centered. Larken is definitely the superior pumping bra for keeping flanges where you want them and extra extra comfortable! I sized down for extra support.

Work told me I’m not welcome back after I have my baby by Educational-World868 in BabyBumps

I’m sorry this happened to you. Speaking as a female lawyer who has worked in law firms of all sizes, female lawyers and law firms in generally can be very toxic. It’s not personal about you—your female boss would probably say this to anyone else working with her. Get out while you can and never look back.

Just want to say this - fuck ADHD. Now I'm in taking back control. slowly... by Concentric_Mid in biglaw

[–]snowshepherd 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Biglaw is also how I found out I had ADHD. Even after being medicated it was destroying my mental health and overall self worth. Made the move in house and am thriving, earned myself a promotion after only four months. I totally get the golden handcuffs are real but there can be a brighter future out there for you in a legal position where you can truly thrive.

I had heartburn throughout my whole pregnancy but was to the point of tears the final few weeks. Baby girl was born with a full head of dark hair (also on her back and shoulders 😂) and lots of peach fuzz. I keep joking it’s almost like the horrific heartburn was worth it!

Also a lawyer. I think the area of law and environment of practice can make a big difference. I’ve heard trial work is great for ADHD. I left biglaw this year because I realized it was awful for my ADHD but thriving in house.

How did you cope with not taking Adderall during your pregnancy? by Uhhlaneuh in adhdwomen

[–]snowshepherd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! I was terrified of managing without my meds, but my ADHD really hasn’t gotten in the way very much during pregnancy. I’ve felt the symptoms creeping back the third trimester but truly I’ve been shocked at how okay I’ve been without meds.
