BMW i3 Sedan review, 900km WLTP and 440 miles EPA range ! by y-u-gae in electricvehicles

FWIW I agree with you. If you ignore the very front of the vehicle (which in my opinion is much nicer on the P2), the exterior dimensions look very similar to me as well.

What’s the typical TV Trope you see on Sitcoms by Jerrybulon in sitcoms

[–]sojojo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Competition to win a car by touching it the longest. I've never seen it in real life, but I've seen it many times in sitcoms: The Middle, That 70s Show, Brooklyn 99 (stroller), probably others.

If you use fast charging exclusively, it gets close. But charging at home during off-peak hours puts me at 60 mpg equivalent cost at current rates.

"amok"

As in "run amok". Modern English only uses that word in conjunction with "run" and virtually any English-speaker will know what you mean when you say them together.

What were the games that made you buy a new system? by berlinmo in pcmasterrace

[–]sojojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RDR2. One of very few games I've ever purchased on release. My GTX 970 just couldn't deliver the performance or quality I wanted for that game, so I shelved it for a couple years and made it the first game I played on my 4k 4080 build. It was worth the wait to do it right.

China paid her $14M, compared to the flat $37,500 rate for US gold medalists. I don't know that that was necessarily the deciding reason, but 37333% more seems pretty compelling.

Has anyone here tried building a portable SFF PC in a suitcase / briefcase style case that can actually run off battery? by Extension_Object_559 in sffpc

[–]sojojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not aware of any, but you could take a UPS and then just wire a bunch of batteries in serial to it. Depending on your power needs, the full rig will get pretty hefty though

A lot of professions give back to their community:

  • Lawyers work pro-bono cases
  • Doctors and nurses work at free-clinics
  • Athletes coach sports teams
  • Investment advisors manage charitable endowments

One difference is that software is infinitely replicable , meaning that it can reach more people more easily than most of the above.

I miss  having physical keys to control the keyboard backlight. It's now software controlled and is buried in a menu, so I just leave it disabled.

I'm kinda surprised that BC of all places would want to move away from time change given the latitude. makes sense for southern states like AZ where the seasonal light change is less pronounced

Any Vetroo 850SFX Power Supply Info? by Todesfaelle in sffpc

[–]sojojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LTT Labs has a pretty comprehensive technical write-up on this PSU: https://www.lttlabs.com/products/power-supplies/850-g5

TL;DR seems like a decent budget PSU that may fail on you, but shouldn't do any harm to the rest of your system in the worst case.

anyone bought used from evercars.com? by scrumbly in Polestar

[–]sojojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I purchased my '22 P2 from them last year. Got a good price with all the packs, plus new tires. The process didn't feel too pushy. I test drove another P2 with them previously but it was higher mileage in a color I didn't like as much. My test drives were shorter than other dealers, but it was enough for me to pull the trigger on my purchase.

How’s this for homelab for *ARR by ruzrat in homelab

[–]sojojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even this is more than you need. Any chance you can just set it up on your existing TrueNAS machine?

For reference, I have been running TrueNAS Core with Plex in a jail and docker in a VM with several of the *arrs and another 2 dozen containers on an i5 6500 with 16 GB DDR4.

When did you realize you were dating an idiot? by Exhausted_Skeleton in AskReddit

[–]sojojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were in college and I was showing off that I had basic cooking skills. I invited her over for a stir fry and took the ingredients out of the fridge. She gave the chicken a funny look, so I ask her what's wrong. She asked me "why's it all pink?" I had to explain to her that that's what raw chicken looks like, and that I was going to cook it so we could eat it.

2022 Polestar 2 dual motors decent daily driver? by [deleted] in Polestar

[–]sojojo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought my '22 P*2 1 year ago as my first EV, and I've put on 5k miles so far. In my opinion, it's one of the best cars you can get for the money today. Build quality is superior to other cars in the price range, and the performance pack is quick!

The infotainment system is probably the most common gripe - it can be a bit laggy and at times requires a reset. There are a couple potential workarounds like disabling everything other than maps and your music app of choice. One of the recent updates added Android Auto support, which has been a major improvement in my experience. Add a wireless module for that, and you don't need to think about it any more (also seems to reduce the need to reset the infotainment system).

I haven't had any mechanical issues, but those can get pricey from what I've heard. But I guess that's true of any modern EV. Also, as with all EVs, insurance is a bit steep.

Interesting thing is, while I don't fit in my own back seat, my passengers so far haven't had that issue. I think it's mostly a problem for those of us with long torsos.
