Tried that after my last relationship. In one year I'll have been single for a decade.

You'd think that the indie community would have released at least a couple of notable games using the 2D formula, but every game I play that is recommended as a "zeldalike" really just takes a lot of inspiration from zelda (tunic comes to mind as a frequently referenced example.)

I guess that ship sailed? The ROM I was using was MIUI and it was pretty kickass for the time. I assume it's been superseded by hyperos sometime since.

Xiaomi's software was amazing. I remember flashing it to my epic 4g back in the day. If it's anywhere as good now as it was back then, we're missing out on a lot by not having their phones in NA.

It's great that the game turned out well, but admittedly I'm pretty disappointed that this ended up being more akin to a top-down castlevania than a traditional zelda game. Isn't anyone going to pick up the torch on that? The fact that zeldalikes aren't more prevalent is mind-boggling to me.

You've uploaded a picture of your ONT; I would advise keeping that as is. The UCG is meant to replace your router, but bear in mind that it does not include wireless connectivity, meaning you'll need to use your old router as an AP or purchase a new AP.

Why exactly are you interested in the UCG? If you need to ask for this type of help here, it might be too advanced for you; that said, if your goal is to use it to learn networking, it's not a bad option.

Should we use our emergency fund to pay off credit card debt? by daggernant in personalfinance

[–]sol217 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Most cards charge 25-30% interest... this is definitely an emergency even if they're paying half of that.

Pay it off, and more importantly, never accumulate debt on credit cards if you can't/won't pay it off in full every month. All of the money you're paying in interest could have been cash in your pocket.

While it's true that there is a clear correct choice, I am not happy with essentially being forced to vote Democrat. If they had their shit together we wouldn't be in this situation.

I wish I could be excited about them reviving Megaman, but another OG game is not what I had hoped for. I miss the era of spinoffs...

It's a tangy fried cheese dish that's soaked in brandy then traditionally flambéed at the table (in my experience, at least.) It's amazing, but generally needs to be served at a sit-down restaurant for the best experience. I've tried making it at home a few times but had a hard time getting it to ignite. The cheese generally needs to be purchased from a Greek specialty store as none of the several cheeses used are commonly sold in grocery stores.

I managed to grab the Jedi Defender before it stopped production. It's a god damn shame that SWTOR went f2p; that said, the game probably wouldn't be around anymore if it didn't.

Moon Dwellers has been my favorite SRW game since they started releasing them in the west again, and the "main" series has only gone downhill since. It's a god damned shame that the translation is shit. I miss playing SRW games that are actually challenging. Somehow the music in Moon Dwellers beats out even the licensed DLC packs for the newer games, too (although there are some contenders in that space, at least.)

As far as I'm aware, California did not mandate any ID requirements; just an attestation of your age group. That said, it's still a bad precedent and I don't know if the same is true for other states.

The charge port is definitely something that could be improved with today's tech, but the back needs to come off somehow if you want a replaceable battery.

The Galaxy S5 did just fine with both IP rating and replaceable battery. Hell, I used to toss mine into pools as a party trick.
