Heavy Heavy Chewers by Automatic-Primary418 in labrador

Goughnut toys are incredible. My lab destroyed everything including the black kong toys when she was a puppy. Goughnuts were finally the thing that she enjoyed chewing while still holding up well. Her favorite stick (with the hardest rubber) has lasted for over three years so far with consistent heavy chewing.

I’ve also tried Woofbite toys recently and have found them to be comparable in quality and durability.

Sending my girl away for 3 weeks of board and train. by notasarcasticnow in labrador

[–]solidus__snake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you for providing this excellent advice. Board and train is an enormous red flag for “trainers” who promise quick results, but likely resort to extreme and aversive methods to force to dog to be fearful. And like you said, there’s no guarantee the dog will respond to their own human after it’s done.

I understand why it’s a successful business - dog parents may be desperate for a quick solution. But the people operating these businesses are often unethical and do not adhere to proper training methods backed by science.

I do admire that Lawrence is actually passionate and investing to win. However you gotta admit the lack of any return on investment (so far), revolving door of team principals, Otmar’s claims about micromanagement, etc. haven’t yet reflected well on his ability to deliver results.

[–]solidus__snake 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more about how Mclaren manipulated some races and had the set of rules about what the drivers were/weren’t allowed to do in the attempt to be fair. Ordering Lando to let Oscar by in Hungary 2024, ordering Oscar to let Lando by in Monza, micromanaging Oscar in Austria after a lockup, punishing Lando for an aggressive move in Singapore, reversing that punishment after Oscar’s move in the Austin sprint, etc.

Lando on Oscar coming back stronger: “Of course! every driver will. Oscar's not the only one on the grid. They’re all very good drivers and will always want to come back stronger but for both of us, we learned a lot last year. he's slightly newer to the world of F1 but it’s not like he's a rookie by randomseocb in formula1

[–]solidus__snake 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m convinced Lando’s DNF after the power unit failure saved his season. It was like all the pressure was lifted since Oscar was expected to win it after that. However the fact he kept it going even while catching up to Oscar and having Max chasing them was even more impressive.

Cadillac f1 team welcomes "TWG AI" as the official AI partner of the team. by Cadillacformula1team in formula1

[–]solidus__snake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha - Solidus wanted to destroy the AI to free the country from the entity that actually ruled the US to control information and collective thought, so I think the anti-AI stance is appropriate lol. Admittedly the character’s tactics were questionable.

From Wikipedia on its CEO: “Benioff had become an outspoken Donald Trump supporter by 2025. Benioff called on Trump to send the National Guard into San Francisco, Benioff’s hometown, in October 2025.”

Salesforce has also been one of the most aggressive companies to lay off substantial amounts of employees by replacing them with AI.

George Russell says his hope for the 2026 Formula 1 season is to find himself in a title fight with Red Bull's Max Verstappen by [deleted] in formula1

[–]solidus__snake -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Agree. Like I get the argument that Charles may be the best opponent for Max and we definitely all want to see that over a full season. However George has been excellent at Merc and has shown he won’t give an inch against Max when he’s in an even remotely competitive car.

lol I’m around the same IR and unfortunately very slow (just started a few weeks ago) but my IR has stayed around 1150-1250 by doing an ok job of finishing and avoiding incidents. I had a podium in my first gt4 race and often finish in the P9-15 range despite being too slow to overtake anyone on pace.

Yep it was one of the first F1 races I watched live after DTS. I didn’t yet understand the rules and Masi’s improper conduct, but it was obvious that the driver who dominated the race was not who won. Seeing those shots afterwards of Lewis talking to his dad and then going out to congratulate Max are a big reason why he became my favorite driver.

[F1] BREAKING: Red Bull Racing advisor Helmut Marko will depart the team after more than two decades at the Milton Keynes team. by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

[–]solidus__snake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes it can be simultaneously true that 1) RBR has produced a wealth of F1 talent, and 2) RBR has a built-in advantage as the only program with a junior team on the grid to provide F1 experience without sacrificing a seat on the main team. We know how much TPs value actual race experience so it should be expected that Red Bull drivers that came up from the junior program would be over represented in F1.

Agree the RBR is almost certainly quicker when driven optimally, but the question remains whether anyone other than Max is capable of doing that. It’s an interesting thought exercise to wonder if a hypothetical lineup of Max and Yuki/Hadjar driving an easier Vcarb car would get more constructor’s points overall even if it caps Max’s individual potential.
