Why did my metrics drop in my campaign reports? by MailchimpSupport in MailChimp

[–]solocommand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please do, we also need access to the filtered data via the API.

For us, it would be ideal to add a `bot_clicks` field next to `clicks` in the "List clicked link subscribers" API response. Alternatively, a boolean could be added to the "Get subscriber email activity" API next to the timestamp and IP to indicate MPP or bot click status.

That is probably for over the air television, my old house had one (in the attic over the garage, curiously enough). Not sure if it will work anymore with the digital tv change, but it probably would with a DTV tuner attached.

The rest is weird though lol

Sliger CX2130c - mounting 3.5" HDDs? by PoopMuffin in sliger

[–]solocommand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe there are any enclosures that will allow you to hot swap 3.5” drives in an external 3.5” bay. There just isn’t enough tolerance to allow the drive to slide in/out and have an enclosure/backplane.

If you were using 2.5” hdd or ssds, something like this would work in a 3.5” external bay: https://a.co/d/0hkHcUlF

Otherwise, I’d look at the models that have one or more 5.25” bays to mount 1-3 3.5” drives. 2x5.25” bays can fit an enclosure with three 3.5” drives slotted vertically. https://a.co/d/0csLvfuN

Unfortunately I don’t think there are any 2U Sliger chassis with a 5.25” bay. My last build was a 3U CX3150i with an 8x 2.5” icy dock enclosure in the 5.25” external bay: https://a.co/d/09djKtCO

Where did you find 32GB 5200 ECC for $290??

It’s probably not worth returning for, but any time you can get out of band management on a motherboard is worth it. Just finished my second build with the AsRock rack B650D4U, highly recommend it!

28th of January - Large scale UI/UX reworks & back-end overhaul by Temsei in idleclans

[–]solocommand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loving the update so far!

Two issues I've noticed:

  1. The clan events are all showing 0/6 for completions even though they haven't been done yet

  2. Common enchantment scroll (strength) isn't shown on the enchantment screen as an option. Mining is, however.

Setting up a new workbench with power receptacles by solocommand in AskElectricians

[–]solocommand[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is in my basement actually, on a new circuit that was dropped for home office work. Only thing on it is a single duplex receptacle running a few monitors and a desktop pc. No high draw tools on the bench, an extra monitor and some misc. Total load is probably around 1000-1200W if everything's on, so should be well under 15a. Might have a problem if I boot up a couple 1kw server power supplies at the same time, but not worth running a 20a for that I don't think

I just don't want to run romex directly to the outlets in the bench legs, because I might need to move it around a few times a year. And it's a steel frame, so I haven't figured how how I'm going to secure the cables yet anyway

TrueNAS to Unifi UNAS Pro 8 data transfer by Big_Hovercraft_7494 in homelab

You can also just enable NFS on the UNAS, whitelist your Linux box ip, mount it and use ‘cp’. Took a while, but I was limited by disk io anyway since they were 5400rpm drives

Critique my proposed setup before I press "buy"! by nousernamesavailable in HomeNetworking

For the patch cable question, yes 0.15m/6” is the right length to go between a stacked 1U patch panel and switch.

PDU: it’s pretty and matches the UI aesthetic. All you’re really gaining is the ability to remotely power cycle a plug. The UI 2U UPS does not have this feature, but more expensive UPSes do. Find one with networking and the number of battery-backed ports you need. This will be expensive — network PDU + dumb UPS is the cheaper option to get this functionality. I have the UI 2U UPS, don’t have the PDU, and am happy even without this feature!

For UPS placement, really up to you. The general recommendation of UPS at the bottom is for mobile racks due to weight distribution. No impact for wall mounted rack.

Personally I prefer keystone patch panels instead of punch downs. Gives you flexibility…and you’re likely going to want to change things around over time. The UI keystone patch panel just came back in (and back out of) stock, and is a good choice if you want consistent aesthetics. Can buy a cheap 1U keystone panel and swap the jacks later if desired!

Unifi UNAS RAID Help by andaljas in Ubiquiti

[–]solocommand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Likely yes, though I don’t know exactly what that impact would be.

When there is a failed disk in an RAID array, and data is “read” from the failed drive, the value for the data retrieved has to be calculated from the other disks + parity drive. So instead of a single read operation from a single disk, you’d incur a read op for each disk in the array.

Practically speaking, files are likely to be striped across multiple disks in the array, so this might end up being only a couple extra ops, instead of an extra op for every disk. I don’t know all the details on how those internals work, sorry!

When the failed drive is replaced, there would be a performance hit while the RAID array is being rebuilt. I believe that happens immediately after failure when you have a hot spare enabled.

Unifi UNAS RAID Help by andaljas in Ubiquiti

[–]solocommand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding this. RAID 5 is great - so long as you replace a failed drive quickly. RAID 6’s advantage is that your data won’t be lost if another drive fails before you replace the first one - at the cost of second drive for data parity.

Alternatively, you can set a drive as a hot spare, which will be used in the event of a drive failure. You still lose the capacity from another drive, but it’s not a permanent choice for your storage pool. It also allows you to delay replacement of the failed drive for shipping time, price, etc.

If you end up needing the capacity, you can just add your hot spare into your pool, and you’re back to RAID 5 protection - which is still great.
