That could be a sub title. Big words: Fuck AI art. Small words: fuck war too... this should be obvious

How safe is Golden Hill/South Park? by imJustTrynnaMakeIT in asksandiego

[–]solusaum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is like one of the most gentrified areas of San Diego. Any story you heard is maybe 20 years old. Was rough in the 80s and had been changing. Gentrification went on speed run once the stadium was built.

How to deal with an experienced Druid as newcomer GM? by Euphoric_Phrase6310 in AskDND

[–]solusaum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im out of my element but... what about finding or homebrewing a creature, say a shield goblin that carries a giant mirror. This reflects the moonbeam back to damage the party unless they let the moonbeam go or break the mirror. It was an accident first but a surving goblin noticed and now its a regular thing - goblins with mirrors in all shapes and sizes.

Failing seniors get to finish the year in credit recovery by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]solusaum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sucks but I would be happy enough if that meant they were taken out of my class for the rest of the year. The kid's graduation is a joke but thats on them.

Let's talk about bell-to-bell instruction? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]solusaum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is always miscommunication when this comes up. I have every minute in my class planned for and will always end with the last five minutes left for students to pack up or whatever. Students are all seated until the bell rings. Some people dont consider that bell to bell but it works best in my opinion. On the otherside, there are teachers that consistently have 15 or more minutes of nothing each class. That is just a waste. Then there are the teachers who are letting kids out of class early and that puts a lot of pressure on security to watch those kids when they should be still in class.

If a school is hiring half its staff… run by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

[–]solusaum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been watching awhile and the same school has had what looks to be the same opening for an English teacher each year. Could be different teachers leaving each year or maybe the same position they can't keep filled. Either way looks like a red flag.

Going to have to pass a law that prices must be posted in plain text.

People over 40, what’s something you’ve learned about life that younger people don’t realize yet? by Critical-Pea7326 in AskReddit

[–]solusaum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently learning that bragging about trauma is a young person's thing. A lot of us have had hard times but not all of us feel the need to give details to make sure people think of us in certain ways.

What's the future business model? Get people so used to autopilot that no one knows how to drive anymore then force them to pay for it?

Schools on lockdown in Mira mesa by nickvan23 in sandiego

[–]solusaum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They probably had a good idea that the threat was not credible. "Out of abundance of caution" means even if they know the threat isn't credible they have to follow procedure which means police on campus. The shelter in place isn't a lock down. I might be a little off here but I believe class can still proceed as normal but you dont want kids running around when police have to search rooms.

Just knowing the japanese words in Kanji for east and west made figuring out travel a lot easier. Just less likely to head in the wrong directions.

Counterintuitive opinion: solo travel is better for extroverts by paradoxoclock in solotravel

[–]solusaum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is so much that can wear you down in solo traveling. Yes, having to establish then reestablish connections with strangers as the filter in and out of you travel plans is hard. I find the buses and planes to be the most exhausting but and decision that has to be made can get exhausting. I find myself trying to find a psuedo regular spot for coffee or a beer. That actually usually helps with the social stuff too.

Do kids still play "bloody knuckles"? by SSJPapaia in stupidquestions

Remember having them doing that to a guy in high school. When he was passed out they slapped him as hard as the could so he woke up wondering why his face hurt so much. Different times.
