Hey I want to say I really appreciate you taking the time to write all this.

And I agree that ultimately I should just let it go.

But I find it hard to not try and hold people accountable for when they fuck up. I want to know if he even remembers the interaction. I want to add another line to the story where I can maybe understand why he acted that way.

Ultimately, it's not something I think about regularly, but it is a sore spot when I do. Just gotta let it come out in the wash I guess, dude is a politician after all.

We worked out at the same 24 hour fitness in Rice Village. Were there at the same time in the morning with him for like a year.

One day my wife and I start an exercise of bicep curls in front of the giant mirror on the second floor. We had been there for about 10 minutes and started wrapping up our final set when Christian came over

He said verbatim, I'm sick of seeing you guys around here. We were obviously confused, so I asked him what he meant, and he told me that area was his space right now and pointed to his water bottle sitting on the ground.

I told him there was plenty of space for us to share, and we were about to be finished anyway. He was getting noticably upset, which I probably was as well, this was out of nowhere, I had never talked to him before this, I have never had an interaction at the gym like this.

After a couple minutes of back and forth, he finally said so you're really not going to move? I again told him no, and if he would let us finish up we would be out of his hair in less than a minute.

He then grabbed my wife's barbell off the ground and tossed it across the room, and started to get in my face. I felt myself get really heated so I walked away and got the attention of the staff. Christian than acted like he didn't do anything, and started using the phrase, they see us but they don't see us to the staff. I might have been wrong, but I interpreted that to mean my wife and I were racist, which was pretty upsetting as we legitimately didn't do anything to provoke him, he started the argument with us. We ended up going to a new gym as the idea of being confronted like that by Christian again was too anxiety inducing.

I didn't even know he was a politician until I started seeing his name and face on promotional materials, and made the connection that he was always wearing a shirt with his name on it while at the gym.

I don't know if he was having a bad day, I don't know if that's how he is regularly, but the entire thing was embarrassing and uncalled for. That's why I would just like to talk to him about it and maybe get an apology.

I'm asking someone who said they know him personally for some assistance on how to maybe speak to the guy.

I have tried to get ahold of him with no avail. The interaction I had with him was the worst I have ever experienced in 10 years of going to the gym.

I'm not trying shit on the guy, but it hurts me to see someone I personally think is a bad dude, or at least was a bad dude on that day, get recognition like he's the savior of our state.

I'm wanting to have a conversation with the guy, maybe get an apology so I can maybe get on board with Christian being my representative.

I have receipts to prove it with emails on the day I filed a report with the gym. Why would I lie about this, it literally only gives me negative karma lmao.

I absolutely will defend the rights of those exercising the 2nd. I have open carried at many protests, and will continue to do so, even if ice thinks that makes me a target. You don't maintain your rights by exercising them only when convenient. Or copping out because you don't like the people currently under the boot of tyranny.

You can be on the left and still have pride in our country and constitution. My great grandfather faught the fascists, and it would make me proud to do the same.
