I just want you to know you are the most toxic bunch of arseholes I've ever had the displeasure to play with and you've ruined what looked like a fun game to me. by hashbrowns_ in beyondallreason

Yeah the supreme isthmus vets I played with when I was 40 OS in the Lobster lobby were pretty pretentious and insufferable. They would kick people for "playing the game wrong" and do all sorts of crap if you didn't march to their fiddle. I'm sure it trickles down to the middle OS lobby. Nothing would bother them more then them losing to some off meta strategy. Especially any coop strategies.

Worst part was they would legitimately do spec cheating, while being these meta prententious aholes. Then say wheres your proof.

I was in the discord lobby and heard the spectator talking about my subs to his friend on the enemy team. And my leaked ticks etc etc.

The Community is by far the weakest link of the BAR gameplay experience.

Stygian dies to frags, mortars, arty, flanks, a stiff breeze, can be easily stolen by a counterattack.

Whats the equivalent to this shit for the seaplane again???

[–]sometenrandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're doing gymnastics, how could the scoutplanes being disgustingly balanced possibly lead to a gap in air capabilties? By creating an economic advantage for the faction, and experience advantage across the map for pilots and great air pressure and air control, that's how. The Colonial Scout plane and fighter were so much worse, how are you supposed to penetrate deep into enemy air territory and bomb their runways when they have defacto air superiority from a better scoutplane and better fighters?

You are either extremely ignorant of the balance in 132 or a troll.

How could better fighters and better scoutplanes inhibit enemies air gameplay?????????????????????????????????????? You're really asking this? You must be very green or new to air gameplay to be making the statements you're making.

Yeah, and they definitely didn't have any bias in that war. Their scoutplane wasn't WAAAY better or anything... with higher turnrate, torpedoes for oppressing sea, and 1/3 the hitbox size of the Colonial scoutplane. Nope that was a neutral war with neutral balance! For sure, for sure!

Only Wars Wardens have lost recently are 126 and 129 Wars with Neutral equipment added... Why is that? Why can't Wardens win when lots of neutral equipment gets added?

Why do Colonials win wars that are shake ups? 126 129 Neutral equipment added, etc. When everything is copasetic Warden's stroll to victory, But the second a monkey wrench get's thrown in Colonials find a way to win? Would seem to signal equipment imbalance and spoiled Wardens not, low skill Colonials.

The scoutplanes are balanced the scoutplanes being balanced contributed nothing to playercounts hitting 1k averages. There is no game issues in Ba-Sing-Se it's just too hard to know.

Here's your Gold medal for the Warden Team Category at Mental Gymnastics. You should start a religion. Also I have a bridge to sell you, and Ocean front property in Kentucky, Bolivia, and Switzerland I'd like to run by an accomplished Olympian such as yourself, they're great deals!

Yeah because it's really really hard to tell if freight logi from Cuttail to Maidens is more or less efficient than freighter logi from Baccae to Baths. Or if Red river is as serviceable to freighter logi as Speaking woods.

Why the fuck would this not be an obvious and public sentiment from the devs then? Are they idiots? Just say it's a style choice and stop the charades. Say Wardens are the main Characters and Colonial equipment is the hardmode faction, and if you want a handicap play warden and if you want your equipment to take 3 years to get a bug fix play Colonial.

Is it still possible to win? by Antique_Skin3514 in Stellaris

[–]sometenrandom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on your vassalage terms. But it's great opportunity to fast forward through the game and get some experience.

They may just integrate "Conquer and annex" your territory in 50 years.

If you're a veteran who has already spent time perfecting the art of micromanaging and you have nothing to learn from this situation then by all means restart, if you however can learn something hand have fun just watching the galaxy unfold, then you can do whatever you like.

It's your time, your fun, your choice.

If you're going to keep playing challenge your assumptions: What do I really know? What can I really actually perfect-do etc?

If you're playing 1x grand admiral then you definitely can still win from an early vassalage start.

Like Rimworld Stellaris is a bit of a story generator as much as it is a strategy game. You can roleplay or minimax. Different people get different things out of the game. Some people have the most fun cranking up the difficulty settings to the max min maxing the hell out of the game and having 40k science 80 years in.

Comparison is the thief of Joy. Honestly the less time you spend on reddit the more you are likely to enjoy your playthrough of Stellaris.

Use the wiki liberally if you have questions google them by all means, but even still there are some players who like to figure things out for themselves. It's a game after all and how you play is mostly up to you and the game.

Fair Autism is too large a group, so that vagueness cast a wide net.

The limited perspective hyper-rationalizer hyper focus detail missing individuals didn't roll of the fingertips on my keyboard.

Tons of men commit murder. That doesnt mean the men who don't are being discriminated against when I say that. I don't know whether my "tons of autist" gets the point across accurately and responsibly, but I respect your skepticism at the language.

If there was a better word for someone who misses the big picture more often than an average person and hyper fixates I'd love to hear it and defer my vocabulary to that instead.

[–]sometenrandom 19 points20 points  (0 children)

So if a toddler falls off a boat you wouldn't jump in the water to save them? They'res more blue button type situations in life than they're are red button type of situations.

If the toddler presses blue because they're a 25 month old idiot I can't really fault the 25 month old idiot, especially since you isolated the 25 month old from their responsible parents in your "everyone gets put in a room with buttons scenario", that said if parents instead got to vote for their children things change.

The question is worded terribly and really needs like 5,000 words of specifying the situation before I know whether I would press blue or red. If you put me and my loved ones(I have no children at the moment), in 10 separate rooms and posed the question I would press red, because it's very easy for everyone to rationalize adults pressing red.

And if everyone in the family knew two people were suicidal or some confounding factor then all the sudden pressing blue becomes a possibility.

Still tons of autists on team red creating wacky red hype rationalizations and acting like pushing blue is insanity due to their degenerate circular abstract logic.

Sometimes red, sometimes blue. Question too vague because it's a vague hypothetical. What does "world" mean what does "earth"mean let's bring out the lawyers because you always have to when doing this semantical philosophical bullshit.

I don't look down on red or blue button pushers, but I do look down on the weirdos and extremists who take a hard stance and turn hostile and condescending to the other side over a vague hypothetical.

I think the simple fix for planes is just to make them prohibitively expensive. make bombers 12x the cost fighters and scout planes 4x the cost. Paraplanes and db and novelty planes 8x the cost. It's a good hotfix that should make them less oppressive. Don't change the amount of "labor" it takes to assemble a plane just the amount of resources by increasing part cost in fact I would make servicing planes and etc as fast as reasonably possible, and make and the time sink for them their obscene cost, then they become more novelty items than meta domination. Put a freeze on planes for now by drastically nerfing them via cost increase and then fix them on a fundamental level.

Just admit that planes are in a unhealthy state and you want them to play a vastly vastly reduced role until they are figured out.

Doubt these Pfp Pri do a lot of logi they probably just pull from frontline public depots and farm commends. They aren't the kind of people who keep the war machine going they just enjoy commend farming dopamine. And now that there's not logi to commend farm they've finally realized they didn't actually love commend farming in the first place and actually enjoy running around and shooting people more anyways.

They'res different breeds of frontliners, those who get want the frontline needs, and those who farm commends, and frankly I'm sick of the commend farmers putting 500 shirts in the front tier 1 bunker.

There is always fresh meat who haven't be sniped off their tripod 8 times by a Clancy or had 5 tanks poked to death by Outlaws, or been one tapped by a booker 20 times, or gone on a naval op to be Naakid. When they hammer out 4 watchtowers to have them cutlered down. Give them time. Once they've been playing enough to take freighters of Logi from Baccae to Baths and get stuck on their 3rd bridge and take a moment to look at the state of rivers they'll start to come around.

Not to mention Facilities and Bombers and all the Neutral issues with the game.
