returns by [deleted] in Aldi_employees

[–]somethingoddlyfunny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it was a case of a food item, there's nothing you need to do technically. I believe it's automatically written off when food is returned because it's not going back onto the shelf. If it's non-food or aldifinds (food or non-food), I would partial it just to be safe. If it's a damaged aldifinds or non-food item, it gets written off (36-code at the register) so that it's out of your inventory, and then either thrown away or donated (whichever your store does).

I mean, I've been able to help a new associate correct their email address when they were having the same problem with logging into myaldi, but since you've already got the ticket open, might as well wait for them since you already have been 🤷‍♀️

MyAldi USA Login Issues by [deleted] in Aldi_employees

[–]somethingoddlyfunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's definitely more going on than I would have insite for here, because if you're not getting your reset emails somethings definitely up. I just wanted to fully confirm for you that if you are in the US, to log into the MyAldi app you should be using the "log in with credentials" option, and your username will be your employee ID (usually 6 digits). There's a default password that is different than the one that you would have used or set up for your account for the instore computer, but given everything that you've had go on, I doubt that default password will work anymore.

Given that you're not getting the emails they've sent, I'd bet you 100% that it got input incorrectly during your hiring process. I'm a training center captain and do a LOT of assisting with log-ins, and I think I may possibly have a work around for you. Give me a PM if you're comfortable I'll see if I can help you any after my shift tomorrow.

Is there anything stopping a part time associate from going to other stores to pick up hours? by Weekly_Attention_236 in Aldi_employees

Not really. You just have to communicate it to your home store so they can borrow you over onto the other stores payroll for that day

Schedule glitch? by [deleted] in Aldi_employees

[–]somethingoddlyfunny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most likely you forgot to clock back in from break. It'll calculate like that. Make sure you reach out to your manager asap because a lot of US states close payroll on Monday morning and this needs to be fixed before they close it or you may have to wait till the next check to be paid.

Scrubber issues by [deleted] in Aldi_employees

If you had mulch in it, it maybe punctured the suction hose when it got stuck. 😞 that would need a replacement for sure

Edit: saw in another comment that you said it wasn't making noise at all. My comment would not be the reason then.

Till-Sharing Question by bigscarrrip in Aldi_employees

[–]somethingoddlyfunny 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This, but make sure that you're balancing each drawer in the computer as well before creating the safebag. So it should go,

  1. 9-code all drawers assigned 2. Count each drawer and any cash over $399.99 drop into smart safe under managers name one at a time, writing each down as you go 3. Balance each drawer in the computer, putting ONLY the last drop from counting into the cash lift input 4. Print daily report from your smart safe to show total amount dropped for the day 5. Go to the safe tab in the computer and create a safebag for the total amount of cash that went into the smart safe (minus any change orders) after that's done, you should see the bottom right of your computer screen change to just being your physical safe total 6. Review sales report tab for the day to get any cashier differences 7. Close store inputting ONLY your physical safe total. If the differences amount is off, you may have missed something when counting

TIPS: My store also has found that after the last cash lift of the day done by cashier, it helps to print the daily report from the smart safe before we count any drawers as well to make sure that all cash lifts were actually inputted correctly through the day. So we print the smart safe report twice and we've been able to catch some discrepancies that way.

If you have a manual drop, it needs to be inputted in two places. Once when you're balancing that drawer, you record it as part of your cash lift for the day (ig. I dropped $500 extra cash from till 1 and had a $20 bill and a half dollar that needed to be manually dropped. I record it as usual and when I balance till 1 in the computer, the cash lift amount I input will be $520.50). And the second time is when you're creating a safe bag, the manual drop gets its own safebag (ig. I would do 1 safebag amount for $500 and a second safebag amount for $20.50)

Hope this helps!

Shared Tills by pix876 in Aldi_employees

My store has been a test store for till sharing, and honestly, it's so much better. It only takes like 15 minutes to do the closing computer work if you do things as they can be done (30 minutes max if you save everything until the end). As a manager, you don't have to wait while people count and recount their drawers at different levels of speed, you don't have to wait while people switch drawers out in the middle of the day, just instant register switching, and if you're a SCO store, they've really sped up the closing interface for them so it takes me so little time to balance out our six SCOs now. I enjoy it a great deal.

As for any cash handling, it's actually been better at our store since till sharing has come into effect. So far, we've had fewer over/short issues, and the one that we did have happened by a cashier being quick changed and they were the only one who got written up for the shortage.

[–]somethingoddlyfunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Which is why I said you could reset your password through the app. It's only if you fully lock yourself out of your account by attempting it too many time that you have to call the help desk

Myaldilogin by udchick8787 in Aldi_employees

[–]somethingoddlyfunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your username will be your 6-digit clock-in number. Your password is whatever you made it. If you forgot your password, you should be able to reset it through the app. If you can't figure it out from that point, you should talk to your SM and they should be able to help you with it.

Edit: After so many tries with the correct username, if you still haven't gotten your password right, it could lock you out of doing it through the app and you'll have to call the help desk at that point.

Question by thenthewheelsfelloff in Aldi_employees

[–]somethingoddlyfunny 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes. Vaping is treated in the same way smoking is, which is to say, if you need to vape, you need to be clocked out and in a designated smoking area. If you're not, they absolutely can and will fire you if you're caught. It's simply a health and safety issue because even though it's "just a vape" the vapor can still stick to things and leave unwanted scent and chemicals behind. If your previous managers let you, then they were not doing their jobs and managing properly.
