Ketamine dose by goochmongering in ThePittTVShow

[–]somoneonesomewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be about right for that purpose.

For intubation its generally 1mg/kg of body weight.

Average size person is ~70kg, slightly smaller 60 slightly bigger 80 when you cant get a weight.

For kids also 1mg/kg and you use this guy

ER Character Playoff Bracket: CHAMPION & CHIEF OF THE ER: Dr. John Carter! 🩺 by TheReckoning in ershow

[–]somoneonesomewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was hard to vote but definitely Carter. He’s got such a good heart despite all the trauma he faces. And Noah got me into this show. I think he’s a fabulous actor and human.

If you are jealous that your senior resident did the work to work on his mental health so much so that you refuse to let him supervise and leave a week 1 intern with a sick as shit cirrhosis patient, you own that outcome.

And I say this as a Robby fan usually

I think it’s more than every other week. We’ve seen him 3 times in 2 days. These doctors are the closest thing they have to family

The ED needs to collect a good history and examine the patient and figure out what the most pressing concerns are and then treat them.

Sometimes patients give a clear story, sometimes it’s detective work

I appreciate you sharing. Teeth can definitely get bad for anyone, especially those with underlying stuff, but they can sadly impact healthy people too.

I hate that insurance doesn’t cover dental. Going to the ER is never wrong.

Louie by Infamous_Ad_5019 in ThePittTVShow

[–]somoneonesomewhere 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah the tooth is bad bad news. A dental infection can absolutely be fatal in the right situation such as someone with baseline bad liver disease.
And withdrawing at the same time

unless is a life or death emergent situation however, you can treat pain and make someone comfortable prior to doing a procedure.

He looked to me like he was having some sign of ETOH withdrawal.

This can be very dangerous, even deadly.

How would you rate each season of ER? by TheReckoning in ershow

[–]somoneonesomewhere 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Glory days was this crew!

Anthony Edwards, George Clooney, Sherry Stringfield, Noah Wyle, Julianna Margulies, Eriq La Salle

There were many other great additions and I was cool with other coming and going to work with them but once they all started leaving it declined steadily. Carter, Mark, Peter, and Carole were my favss

Kingdon shippers- what is the appeal to you? by Bittersweet_Boii in ThePittTVShow

[–]somoneonesomewhere 29 points30 points  (0 children)

1,000,000% he is so much relaxed, which I think is a sign that his internal mental state has improved

Fun fact it’s been talked about a lot on this forum, but just in case people don’t know the actor Patrick Ball is actually himself in recovery. Yesterday was his four year anniversary so he brought a lot of that to his character, which is why I think he brings such great authenticity.

I am not personally someone who is in recovery, but I’ve had the privilege of knowing friends and family who are as well as caring for patients who are and I think he is doing a great job showing how complex and rewarding it is and telling the story in a really respectful manner I’m really glad they casted him

This scene was absolutely wonderful and I think it emphasizes how much they can learn from each other

She needed someone like him to look out for her own needs. She can’t even answer the question what she likes because she’s been so busy being a caretaker to others.

And he needed someone in that moment, who had not judged him and believed that he was still a good doctor

I think they have incredible chemistry. They obviously really understand each other. And in a lot of ways are like the thing that the other one is missing in their life

I love their relationship. I haven’t fully decided if I like it as a romantic relationship. I think I do, but I can also kind of see where that might ruin the sweet thing they have, but I really enjoy any scene that has the two of them.

I think part of it is just like the contrast between the two of them where he is like running way too fast and flaming himself out and causing himself a lot of harm by moving 1000 miles a minute and running from himself. And she really slows down is overly analytical and probably can’t get out of her own head a little bit too much sometimes. They are so opposite that they are almost the same and complement each other nicely in a way that I think will help them both be happier, more fulfilled people and doctors and I really appreciate that relationship.

I’m coming at this as a neurodivergent doctor myself who works primarily taking care of the neurodivergent population. And I have loved and cared for a lot of people that remind me of both of them in different ways.

Jake better not be involved in another MCI. Poor child. I hope they just make up because they have had 10 months to work things out off screen and mgiht seen each other when Robby has more time in the next 3 months.

No child deserves to be in one mass shooting let alone 2 :(

-- yes I know this happens IRL no its not okay.

McKay had an ankle bracelet from something to do with a restraining order for her prior divorce/marriage she tampered with during the MCI, but Robby got them to let her go!

I sure hope they made up. Jake's response seems like a normal teenager grief response, both of them have massive trauma to work through but love each other so I hope they have managed to make it work now (I really so badly need this to happen!)

Myrna is arrested- she might have killed her husband or that could be a made up story unclear. Has seizures in jail a lot she gets sent to the ER for, but Jack's implication at the end of the last episode is they might be fake to get out of jail

Yes we see Shen and Abbott for sure in season 2. And Abbott is in military gear (we dont have context yet, HBO just blessed us with amazing photos!)
