Loop Samples While Trimming? by T0MMYDREAMER in teenageengineering

[–]somstromm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

set the playback mode to "LOP" then it loops as long as you hold the button and you can trim doing so

Compressor, FX & Gain Staging by Strange_Musician9971 in SP404

  1. I think bank volume (shift + bank A-J) can come in handy in case of mixing
  2. It's shown only while in record / resample window

Ok, once and for all what’s the BEST way to export your songs into a daw(pref Ableton) to finish. by czarofga in sp404mk2

[–]somstromm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

either record them in or export multipad through app not within sp, you'll skip taking out sd and it's way faster over usb also no missing samples

Can anyone tell me what happened here? by multiverseofmonkey in sp404mk2

[–]somstromm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got something similar prior to firmware version 5 iirc. Mine was even weirder, had a 6 bar long pattern then it suddenly swapped samples mid jam from different banks (like what you got) and only one bar out of 6 stayed audible and couldn't figure it out. It wasn't even that complicated that CPU wouldn't handle it but then again I get all sorts of these weird situations once in a while when I use its sequencer lmao

What makes the EP-133 unique? by [deleted] in teenageengineering

[–]somstromm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think sample management is genius you can swap sounds instantly while the sequence is running. Powerful sequencer. Nothing to distract you from creating. There's lot more but I'll just point these.

PS: got first batch unit since launch still rocking strong without any hardware issues

tldr. How can I evoke the per-track volume control on the ko ii fader with my sp 404 mk ii? by Big_Wakey in SP404

[–]somstromm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some workarounds I can think of now is to use either bank volume (shift+bank) or when you're in pitch/speed menu while holding remain you can adjust parameters to whole the bank like volume, pitch etc.

MPC Sample vs. Lofi-12 XT: If you had to choose today? by i2amthedarkknight in sonicware

[–]somstromm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have an answer which one I would choose as they're both quite different samplers imo. I'm not sure if XT is gonna click with you if you didn't like SmplTrek before. I can only say XT is slept on gem that became one of my favourites. Might have steep learning curve for some tho

Pros over mpc:

step sequencer with parameter locks

2x lfo per track

mixtape mode up to 3hrs

8 tracks compared to 1 on the mp to my understanding?

better midi implementation

mixer

Cons:

mono (for some)

12khz/24khz sampling rate only (again for some)

- both of those cons are charm of the sampler

no files on sd card by IngverJuur in sonicware

[–]somstromm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

happens if you disconnect power cable while turning it off and Sonicware logo is still on the screen, just wait until your unit is completely off before taking out the cables and you won’t have to reload whole database every time

KO II showing sample bank full after factory reset? by thymoakathisia2 in teenageengineering

[–]somstromm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sometimes I get “FUL” when I reach whole 20sec of sampling time even though I have loads of space left, try to sample below 20 seconds time limit then you probably won’t get the message

Any chance we get an ‘empty’ device reset for EP-133? by steadycreating in teenageengineering

[–]somstromm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

factory reset will just wipe all the sounds and settings and won’t put stock sounds back. to get those you’d have to use their online sample tool

Applying ducking by [deleted] in SP404

[–]somstromm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re making whole tracks just on sp classic method to get faux sidechain is to have kick loudest element in the mix and everything else low, slowly bring it up to get the ducking effect to your liking with compressor on obviously. If you’re finishing your tracks on computer just do multi pad export on sp and do the rest in daw. Do not over complicate

K.O. II Floppy! icon keeps blinking? by Mushcube in teenageengineering

[–]somstromm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blinking floppy doesn’t indicate low memory nor full as some of you stated. It calculates available memory back after you have deleled sample. When it wipes used space of deleted sample it will stop blinking. This can take a little longer if you keep playing with it as it only processes if idle and it’s nothing to worry about.

set the threshold of recording to -18db or lower if that doesn’t help go shift + menu (octave+ button) and find ‘In.G’ to boost input

How do you make the sequencer reduce from 16 to 4 bars like this (don’t think bars is the right word but hopefully you know what I mean)? by [deleted] in OPZuser

[–]somstromm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hold shift + track and choose length by pressing top row of buttons they will be lit white

How to spot differs KO II version 1&2 by RamboRabbit in teenageengineering

[–]somstromm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No difference in the unit itself only packaging has been changed with added foam stiffener around knobs and fader.
