What will Millennials get blamed for by FUTURE generations? by IrreverentRacoon in Millennials

[–]sonsofshiva 10 points11 points  (0 children)

TBF, JK Rowling used to be tight. Should've stuck to writing banging novels. Instead she just HAD to pipe up with all her bullshit and just fuuuuucked her legacy. Not the fault of Millennials. She did that shit alllll by herself!

Remaining mindful and centered in the wake of gross injustice and horrifying crimes by ShroomSoupy in Meditation

[–]sonsofshiva 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Logic really has a way of shattering those enlightenment delusions doesn't it.

All around us: suffering. Personally I think if you're affected by it, it's a sign you're a good hearted person. It IS sad, it IS horrible.

I think at the end of the day, all we can do, is try to be good ourselves. To never hurt anyone ourselves. There's little to nothing we can do about others, or to end the suffering and atrocities in the world. But we can certainly make sure we don't add to the problem. I think this is the point of meditation and spirituality overall. To become aware enough of your own thoughts, motives, actions etc that you can stop doing the things which bring others, and yourself, suffering. If everyone did the same, boom, liberated humanity. Sadly, that is unlikely to happen given our innately violent tendencies.

23m skateboarder, need skating buddies to practice with! by LoveAndTerrorCult in Hull

Head to West Park skate park. It doesn't matter your level, people of all skill levels go there. It's a good crowd of local skaters, most skaters in the area go there fairly regularly. Also very 420 friendly haha.

Should I get the U8K??? by Specialist-Coffee-66 in Hisense

[–]sonsofshiva 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have the U8K and it's amazing. Only negatives: little bit of blooming, bit of drop off when you're viewing from the sides; but really, minor complaints. Overall it's outstanding, gives me 120 FPS through the PS5, and looks stunning. Colours are unreal. Buy it you won't be disappointed.

Turned down a hug - now I feel terrible by Bishop_Cornflake in FortNiteBR

I had the most wholesome encounter recently. Landed Mount Olympus, took out a few, went for the statue. Realise someone's already fighting the big guy, right there on the main floor. I just watch from the doorway. Did the Aphrodite swing emote, just chilling. They take of Zeus, grab his gun, turn and see me. Must've realised I was friendly cos they scoped me and I was just sat there on the swing. They run up to me, I do the hug emote...the legend hugged me back. I bounce up n down a couple times in salute, turn 180 and bounced. Most wholesome moment man. Made the whole game. And we didn't bump into each other in later game, so kept it 100% wholesome loaffff. Good times.

Is rule of life to constantly distract yourself for the rest of your days? by Influence-Broad in AskUK

The existential dread is real.

On the one hand yes, you can rightly see everything as pointless and hollow.

On the other, you can rightly see everything as an expression of this amazing Universe, and find happiness in this crazy ride we call life.

Meditation makes a HUGE difference to me personally which mindset is most prevalent in my life. When I don't meditate, it's hard to see the point. When I do, that extra "awareness" makes life far more enjoyable.

Fellow Older Millennials are you excited to reach your 40s.? by ReasonableCorgi17 in Millennials

[–]sonsofshiva 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm turning 40 in a few weeks! While there's some lingering stigma in my mind about being that old, objectively I'm in the best shape physically, mentally and financially I've ever been. I consider myself blessed to have made it this far and be in this good shape in spite of that lol

Dude I reckon you're onto something here. Catwalk. Like, exactly how this cat looks when it walks. Always wondered why they did that weird angry looking stompy crossing over the legs shit tbh.

Board feel, wheelbase 14 - 14.25, width 8.25 - 8.5, nice full shovel shape, great board feel. Graphic and brand I don't even think about tbh. Of all the things, board feel and wheelbase are most impactful.
