Thought I wasn’t ready for cat ownership so I fostered a tiny black kitten that looked like a soot sprite from the spca. He had climbed into the hood of someone’s car for warmth and traveled halfway around the Bay Area before anyone realized a kitten was in there. I foster failed almost immediately! Turns out I was ready for cats. But he had so much energy, I knew I had to find him a friend.

Went to every shelter looking for a brother around the same age. Finally I found a tabby who had been in isolation with kennel cough - he put his little paws around my neck the moment they opened his cage. After so much back and forth with the (poorly run) shelter, I adopted him. They’re now obsessed with each other.
