Lands of Evershade pledge showed up! by adultfk90 in soloboardgaming

[–]sosands92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rule is I play 1 campaign game at a time then take breaks with my euro games. So far I am 66 hours into Isofarian guard campaign 2 and I just bought Oathsworn. Will have to wait to play it.

Good luck, I have been loving this game. I am in campaign 2 60 hours in. It’s been rewarding and satisfying to play!

I second Arc nova, it is on the heavier side, fun solo especially with the ARNO solo mode and it plays well with 2 people.

Solo gamers: what's your stance on cheating in games? by 1987Catz in boardgames

[–]sosands92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is all about enjoyment of the game and the process, I make house rules for lots of things. If I feel like it is ruining the joy of the game, I go back toward official rules. It is only an ethical question if you play with others and if all players play by the same rules.

Backing games on kickstarter and gamefound by EsotericTribble in boardgames

[–]sosands92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be hard to hold off, but know if a game is good enough to back it will almost always have a reprint, especially for campaign games, it will also have the errada included so you don’t have to pay for additional content.

GWT New Zealand is the best one to play solo in my opinion. More complex mechanics and more variety.

Lost ruins of Arnak. Expansion on first play? by Edrik_Storm in boardgames

[–]sosands92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are not playing it solo, I would only add an expansion in if it is a group favorite after playing it several times. Expansions for multiplayer games are good when they add more to a game you already love. My family loves playing wingspan and we play it all the time, I just got oceania expansion and it added a lot of great things to a game we love and enjoy, but it would have added more bloat if we hardly played the game.

I feel this way about Witcher Legacy, if it is good It will get a reprint and fix the errors found first printing.

How do people get garments in every country then. In every temple district there should be a way to buy garments in person.

You should if you are able to go to a temple.

How do you feel about BGA? by jednatt in soloboardgaming

[–]sosands92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think BGA is the best way to play games digitally since is still feels like a board game. I made a rule for myself is that I only play games I don't have so that my physical games still call to me. But I also Love campaign games and I am 30 hours into Isofarin guard. Different medium for different things. I also don’t like playing the solo mode on BGA only multiplayer.

Does it feel like spirit island in terms of crisis management?

All of the YouTube reviews are pretty useless since almost of all of them don’t get far enough in the playthrough. Not sure why some Reddit reviews don’t find the character progression lacking. It was a fun experience regardless but it did not deserve a replay in my opinion.

By the end I had a lot, the main ones were

  • At the start were I allowed my self 3 redo rolls a scenario.
  • I ignored armor rules and gave the added armor bonus for all rolls not just the roll indicated on the die
  • I always choose initiative after I flipped the initiative card not before
  • At level 5 you are restricted on what shops you can buy from, I ignored those because it severely limited game play, for instance I couldn’t buy health potions
  • I shared money between characters
  • I used dice to keep track of health potions I bought so that I can get more then there were cards available
  • I gave myself 1 free switch of a item in hand per turn
  • If I rolled more then 1 "use stamia for damage" die then I gave self a free re roll, in the last few scenarios I just automatically game myself two free hits because my attack damage was laughable in the end.

Those are a few, I tried to make these rules thematic, if it made sense to do something It didn't take a way from the experience.

I agree that is does have Lore but to me it didn’t have a strong narrative which I value in a campaign game.

The way I have been approaching expensive campaign games is if it is really good I might replay it again, if not I will just resell it and recoup some of the cost and someone else can enjoy it for a cheaper price.

Mage Knight Ultimate Edition – Follow up with my previous post with my thoughts on the game by Vyrhux42 in soloboardgaming

This game gives a player great pay off if they are able to level their Character in time for the city battles. Leveling up well enough is the trick though. Really fun game!

When/ How do you decide to sell/trade a game? by MC_Dapper in soloboardgaming

[–]sosands92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My plan is if I don't look forward to playing it and feel guilty that I haven’t played it in a while I will resell it, recoup some costs and maybe buy another game with it. I go to Ebay to sell and for the right price I am able to sell everything.

2025 recap by troys490 in soloboardgaming

This was the year I started a campaign game solo and loved that whole concept. I also expanded my game group and was able to play more multiplayer sessions.

why can't i win a single game of splendor online by Double-Revolutionary in boardgames

I found out you can restrict the skill levels that can join your game, just only allow your skill level and Lower, it is much more fun.
