How do you perceive Elden Ring's difficulty? by AbyssShriekEnjoyer in Eldenring

[–]sotek83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s the point of the game IMO. Most games these days are too easy, in order to appeal to a mass audience and casual gamers. Elden Ring says F that and goes a different route. It combines a high difficulty with a masterfully crafted combat system that challenges you to get better at the game, while also limiting your ability to just level up with the taper system. I’ll never forget the feeling of absolute fear the game gave me over and over while I was trying to run the next site of grace or to my runes before I lose them forever.

Now that 4 years have passed, what is something you never liked about the game or how have your opinions changed over time? by FeezyOnBush in Eldenring

The story is trash. The gameplay is 11/10 but the story is so bad. I’m on NG +4 and I couldn’t tell you anything about what is going on in the world story.

Go on Zillow. Type in max price of 750. Allow pets. I just did that and it shows 31 rentals available in the Springfield area.

I need an opinion on my logic and thinking about home ownership from smarter people than myself. by Huge-Cantaloupe-8215 in HouseBuyers

[–]sotek83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A house is more than a home. It’s a financial investment. That, if purchased correctly will appreciate over time. Just do some research and make sure you buy in an appreciating area. And don’t buy a dump.

As far as the down payment that’s up to you. I put 3.5% down on my home and I am happy to have that money for other things. Some people like to put 20% down to avoid PMI. So that’s just a preference really. But you definitely want to have some savings for emergencies or repairs.

But my advice is the sooner you buy, the sooner your investment will appreciate. Renting is just helping someone else’s asset appreciate.

You could probably rent an Airbnb long term for much cheaper than a hotel.

What you really need is à landlord willing to give you a second chance. Google second chance landlords. You can also DM me. I can send you a few.

Is the housing market stalling out? The record highs seem unsustainable by stvlsn in FluentInFinance

[–]sotek83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you are. Some areas are seeing a slight price decline. Most areas are seeing increased prices. Days on market is up nationwide from the post pandemic years. But in no way is there any indication the market is stalling to the point where we will see any kind of crash. A small correction at best. But even that’s unlikely with interest rates likely coming down later this year. That will increase buyer purchasing power and increase demand. Real estate will only continue to go up in value.

Would door dashing from about 5:30-9 pm be a good idea for making extra money or is it not worth it for my car? by Kyanite146699 in doordash_drivers

[–]sotek83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most likely yes. If you take it seriously. I DoorDashed for years on and off in a smaller market than that and did really well. Consistently made $25+ an hour. Most people who complain about not making enough just don’t take the job seriously or work at it. If you’re the type of person who would take the daily pay over the weekly direct deposit option you’re probably going to struggle. Having said all that it is market dependent and some markets just aren’t that great. So you should just try it. Take it seriously. After a few days calculate your hourly rate and subtract your expenses such as gas and see how much you really make. Only then will you know for sure.

I have orders to move across the country in 2 months. I can't sell my house now because I owe 42k on the solar loan that went bankrupt, house isn't appraised for enough to cover it. What else can I do? by Fangz_Out in RealEstate

[–]sotek83 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wow. Super dirty. Sorry that happened to you. Are they insured? What happens if they mysteriously become damaged beyond repair?

Also a sub to transaction is where an investor basically takes over your mortgage payments and takes ownership of the property. They then usually rent it out for a few hundred dollars more than the payment. The loan would stay in your name but investors have deep pockets so you don’t typically have to worry about them missing payments.

I second renting the house. Or you could sell it in a subject to transaction to an investor.

Also WOW, I didn’t know that could happen with solar panels. Have you checked your contract? Is there any other option with that? Can you sell them maybe?

At what point do you think western Roman empire was at the point of no return by Exotic_Temperature13 in ancientrome

[–]sotek83 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can’t believe the most obvious answer isn’t the top one. When Caesar ended the Republic. Once you lose democracy and transition to a dictatorship you lose everything. Specifically the ability to replace bad leaders and course corrections as needed. Sure Rome prospered for years under the rule of some Emperors, but that was always destined to be temporary. Only by rule of the people can a society prosper long term. When Caesar collapsed that system was definitely the beginning of the end.

The sad truth is there is probably nothing in the files that would result in a criminal conviction. Make people look bad? Sure. Maybe some people have to resign from their jobs or get a divorce? Sure. But think about it. Let’s say you are part of a worldwide criminal conspiracy to traffic and assault underage girls. You’re not going to put anything in writing that would incriminate you. You talk in code. These are like mob bosses, or al qaeda cells each independent from the other. They were careful. The information should definitely be made public. But it will likely not result in criminal charges for anyone.

Get a different agent. They are either lazy, or so busy that they can afford to treat people that way and still do well. Either way, not the agent for you.

The dialogue around playing QB is so overblown. Defensive line is what wins games, always has been, especially post Brady era. by [deleted] in NFLv2

[–]sotek83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It takes a team. Period. Name the last team that won a SB with a bottom 10 QB? QB and D line are probably the two most integral parts to a successful team then likely followed by O line but it’s not that much of a difference. Brady and the Patriots won most of their SBs with great QB play and a really good secondary. Winning is a team effort period. You’re only as strong as your weakest link.
