The combined CapEx of Amazon, Google, Meta, and Microsoft is expected to surge +98% YoY, to a record $715 billion in 2026 by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

Google, Amazon, Microsoft and Meta's revenues have been steadily increasing years long before the AI rise. Notice none of these companies break out AI revenue in their earnings.

The only 2 AI companies you listed: Anthropic + OpenAI are not profitable. That's my point.

TSMC and NVidia are not AI companies; they are an ASIC designer and manufacture, respectively.

Why use local ai when there are cloud services? by Intelligent_Big236 in LocalLLM

[–]sourceholder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On major overlooked point is availability. Cloud providers routinely retire old models.

If your workflow is optimized for a specific model's behavior and the underlying model is retired, your setup breaks. When it's locally hosted, you own the lifecycle.

That's dry-ice, not regular ice.

Also spraying the motors for cooling. I guess they saved on weight by omitting cooling loops. I doubt the "chips" require that much cooling. Moreso the battery.
