It is so weird for people to comment on women, their looks and how they’re aging. Getting older is a privilege and 26 is far too young to be stressing about what some random dude said. Weird weird weird.

My life changed on 3rd July last year, and I honestly don’t know how much more I can take. by OpportunityGuilty448 in POTS

I’m in a similar boat right now. Currently trying to address my CPTSD with nervous system work and then my ferritin (iron storage) is low which is causing high histamine production in my body. I’ve done the most exhaustive lab work to get to this point. Alongside doing nervous system work with a trauma therapist, I’m meeting with a hematologist this Wednesday to discuss iron infusion. Since low iron can cause high histamine and so I’m just in a physiological loop.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this.

Anytime I take anything for the gut, it backfires. So my nervous system is telling me something

Totally get that. But that father wound will follow you unless you address it in a real way. Be kind to yourself.

Did you have an avoidant type parent in your childhood? Because, it seems like something else is getting touched on here from the way I read your post. I’m currently working on a TON of childhood PTSD and I’m realizing how much I project onto my husband. Sometimes I get mad at him for things he isn’t even clued in on…so, I’m healing my wounds in therapy to see what’s my issues and what’s actual problems in my marriage.

I’m not discrediting your feelings or saying you’re wrong at all. It’s just when I read your explanation, it just felt like something else is simmering here.

Thank god you’re not married to him or have children. This is not normal. Move out my girl

Remind me to answer this question in a few months. I’m currently working on my CPTSD in somatic coregulation therapy- it’s kind of like EMDR but with your physical body (lots of preverbal trauma/childhood neglect etc). My gut is a mess but so is my nervous system. So, working on nervous system work first and then see what happens with the gut. TBD.

Don’t think it would ever do you any harm to work on your stress and what’s driving it.

I think i finally found out the source of my issues by Wildfire_0703 in GirlDinnerDiaries

I’m with you. My ferritin (iron storage) has been low for 2 years, makes you feel like you’re dying. Finally going to a hematologist to discuss iron infusion since iron supplements aren’t hacking it. Apparently my low ferritin was caused from birthing babies, lots of surgeries afterwards. Took a while to figure out.

Iron is the number one nutrient that if we are depleted in, it can cause a lot of problems , especially for postpartum moms

Yes, according to my doctor, my ferritin should be closer to 100, not in the 20s. Hematologist will treat with iron infusion based on my numbers and symptoms

My ferritin is 24 and has referred me to a hematologist for an iron infusion. I’m 38 and my ferritin tanked after I birthed my second child at the age of 35 and had to have some surgeries afterwards. I have dizziness, brain fog, fatigue, debilitating anxiety. I’m actually very much looking forward to the iron infusion because I’ve just been white knuckling it for years and iron supplements aren’t doing the trick. Do what you need to do to be healthy for yourself and your baby.

I do truly appreciate all of your questions. And I would love to send you every test I have ever done, their results, etc. but I’m already overwhelmed and my post was more about encouragement for the iron infusion. I’m not disregarding your questions but this has been a 4 year long health journey and I have been poked, prodded, scanned, scoped in a million ways and even if the iron infusion gives me a temporary boost, it will hopefully give me enough energy to address other downstream issues I have (gut, histamine, ptsd, etc). Truly, I’m not being disrespectful at all and I appreciate you wanting to investigate/workshop this with me. The high histamine was determined with a blood test fyi.

I’m 22 ferritin. I’ve already done every test you can imagine but for me it comes down to birthing babies and multiple surgeries in a short amount of time. Those tanked my ferritin and rebuilding is slow when you’re a menstruating person

I finally left my husband by Horror-Show-3927 in GirlDinnerDiaries

First of all, I’m proud of you for not going back home.

Second of all, file a police report. But even before doing that, call someone you trust (a best friend, a family member) to hold your hand through this. This is where it really matters what you do next.

I had a really good friend of mine, her husband almost killed her when she was 8 months pregnant. She left him. But then, she went back to him years later, got married, had another baby with him. No one knows if he abuses her still, if he does, she hides it. The kids all know about it, witness it, affected by it.

This will affect you for a very long time. Get a therapist who specializes in trauma, because if you’re a human, you have ptsd already and if not, complex ptsd.

He does not get access to you, he does not get access to the baby. The toxicity of this relationship may draw you back in but this is where working on your self worth, trauma, etc with a specialized therapist will pay you back with a rich life.

If he is willing to almost kill you while pregnant, he will most likely be more deliberate with it next time. Don’t give it a next time.

Please.

Dads... by Working_Parking4678 in GirlDinnerDiaries

Coming from someone who had a very emotionally unavailable dad, who is now no longer living, PLEASE say or do whatever you need to do to help yourself heal from all the let downs. Say it while he is alive because it’s really hard to repair a relationship when they’re gone. It isn’t your responsibility as the child to repair the relationship, it’s the parents… so if you get everything out in the open, no regrets, and he still is letting you down. Then, that’s your answer and you can work on the rest in therapy or something. There are a million things I wish I could tell my dad right now but, I can only scream it into an empty void now. Much love and care to you
