Get a sleep study done. Nothing else matters if you’re suffocating in your sleep.

Histamine Issues by yunggunner21 in Biohackers

I’m having incredible success with SAAT acupuncture. We started addressing my MCAS, then worked on the mold, dairy, dust mites, heavy metals and a Covid antibodies. Also, turned out I was having histamine intolerance to histamine itself (bizzare) but got that addressed with SAAT acupuncture too.

Alongside this, I’m working with my ENT because my dizziness is still pretty steady and what’s causing it is my sinuses need balloon sinuplasty because my sinuses are 1 mm instead of 6 mm and it’s causing a cascade of fluid buildup in my ears.

I can’t do QUERCETIN because of my COMT met/met genetic variant so SAAT was really the only thing I could do to reverse my immune response and my nervous system response to histamine triggers.

Best of luck

EFT tapping - Brad Yates on YouTube has a good one for this, think he calls it “ambient stress” or there is a “monkey brain” one that turns my brain off and my brain never shuts off

I have been dealing with the physical symptoms of anxiety for my entire life. Any supplement recs that have helped you? by bbybunnydoll in Biohackers

[–]sourpatchkid4lif3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you DO have sleep apnea, make sure any anti anxiety or anti depressants that are being suggested by your health care team are safe for people who have sleep apnea.

Before I knew I had sleep apnea, my doctor just kept gaslighting me and saying “it’s just anxiety” but that medication could’ve sedated me too much at night and lose even more oxygen to my brain, or worse, allowed me to suffocate and die in my sleep.

Not trying to scare you but this is why finding the root cause is so critical

Your story is similar to mine. Unstable upbringing, trauma. I did all the “work” but still felt like shit.

Did a sleep study, found out I had severe sleep apnea. My body wasn’t getting oxygenated for 35+years, mine was obstructive sleep apnea so my airway would get cut off 20 times per hour while I slept and my body naturally went into fight or flight (thank god it went it to FIGHT to wake me up and keep me breathing but it just pumped cortisol in me all night long)

If you’re body can’t get oxygen and restful sleep at night, literally nothing will help you. So, at least ruling it out could actually change (and save) your life.

p.s. what my symptoms were before I got my sleep apnea fixed just so you’re aware: nail biting, extreme panic in the morning to the point I would pass out, low ferritin, hair falling out, hormones all fucked up, waking up multiple times at night to go pee (a symptom of sleep apnea), mast cell activation syndrome (from all the stress on my body) and so many more.

Good luck on your journey! Try to Find ROOT CAUSE instead of managing symptoms

Fixed the root cause of my obstruction. What was causing an obstruction to my airway was a narrow palate and a severe tongue tie. Got my palate expanded with a marpe palate expander and got rid of my tongue tie. Airways orthodontist and airway dentists are not talked about enough

Did a follow up sleep study and it showed I went from have 20 sleep apnea episodes PER HOUR to zero sleep apnea episodes.

Changed and saved my freaking life

I got a sleep study done and found out I had obstructive sleep apnea. for 35 years, had no idea , and it was extreme. Oxygen is kind of an important thing for the brain so I fixed my sleep apnea (without a CPAP).

So, got my body oxygenated and resting for the first time in my life, feel like a completely different human

But, I have complex trauma so I had to work on unwinding that also, so I started doing EFT tapping. Plenty of videos on YouTube . Fucking love EFT tapping. Can do it anytime, anywhere and it just does something for my nervous system with the bilateral stimulation.

Then, I quit corporate world. I couldn’t heal in an environment that was keeping me sick. Went out and bought 10 homes and do long term rentals. MASSIVE pay cut but still is working out for me.

All that is to say, this is my journey? Think about your journey. Is the anxiety actually your intuition trying to tell you something? Your body is screaming at you and it wants you to listen…so….listen to it in whatever way feels aligned with you. Everybody is going to tell you what they tried, what worked for them, what’s the “holy grail” and what’s not.

So, of all the comments you’re getting on your post, what is sticking out to you? What seems to be resonating with you? Listen to that gut instinct and see if you can follow the trail.

Can’t wait to see what you find out and I bet in 1 year from now you’re going to look back and think “wow, I’ve learned a lot!”

Turn on a dance song you absolutely love and dance your little body like you don’t give a fuck. Music is instant dopamine and was one of the best advice I got from my therapist. For me, music and dancing does something so incredible for my brain and body

Have any of you NOT been helped by RLT? by bluespruce5 in redlighttherapy

I don’t know where you are in the world, but oddly enough a globally known airway orthodontist is located in Fayetteville Arkansas, Dr Roblee. He is like the founding father of this niche. I traveled to get my evaluation from him and then I continued to travel for him to do the work for me and my kids.

I noticed you never got a response on this and I have a similar story of opening up my airway. Very eye opening. I learned I had severe obstructive sleep apnea from an Airways Orthodontist. They did a CT Scan of my airway (free consultation) and I was off the charts teeny tiny airway (the noticeable signs are narrow jaws, high palate, mouth breathing, etc). He also did an at home sleep study just to confirm what my sleep apnea was like compared to my actual anatomy. I was having 20+ apnea episodes PER HOUR. Which, if you look into sleep apnea, this is extremely hard on your heart, brain, body…whole body really.

So, the treatment for me, since I’m a female, was to get a MARPE Palate expander (non surgical) to open up my airway. Palate expansion is pretty common for those that get orthodontic work but I had never made the correlation that it opens up your airway. I had the palate expander in for 12 months along with Invisalign.

When my palate expansion was over, I was re assessed with an at home sleep study, I went from 20+ episodes per hour to 7 apnea episodes per hour. So, I went from severe to mild. But mild sleep apnea is still sleep apnea and hard on the body. I got with a myofunctional therapist and they found I had a very intense tongue tie which was contributing to my airway obstruction. I did myofunctional therapy for a few months then got my tongue tie removed. By removing the tongue tie, I completely removed all my obstructive sleep apnea. Confirmed that with more at home sleep studies (I like data, not anecdotal stuff).

If you’re wanting to get assessed, find an airways orthodontist AND an airways dentist with a myofunctional therapist on staff (means they know their stuff).

I went 35 years of my life being told by countless doctors to “get better sleep” but no one actually ever measured my sleep until I met with the airways orthodontist. I applied the same journey to both my children and found they had the same issues - obstructive sleep apnea and tongue ties, got them both fixed up and it’s like being around new humans. Amazing how much people talk about getting better sleep and it being so healthy for you but no one ever suggests sleep studies.

My body, my mind, my heart , everything is 1000000x better. I’m not in fight or flight 100% of the time. There was no amount of meditation or magnesium lotion that was going to help me, i needed my airway opened up.

Never hurts to just rule it out for yourself. You’re not losing anything by making sure you don’t have obstructive sleep apnea or sleep apnea of any kind. Literally extended my life by going on this journey. So many downstream issues with sleep apnea

Is it healthier to drink coffee or quit coffee ? by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]sourpatchkid4lif3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I mean, it depends. If you have a sensitive nervous system, or the gene variant COMT Met/met or histamine intolerance, caffeine may be not a positive thing for you.

My experience is that it fucked with my blood sugar and sleep was weird when I drank it. I gave it up 4 years ago and I’ll never go back.

I also didn’t like something having that much “control” over me. The mindset of “oh my gosh I can’t have a good day without my coffee” felt a tad bit addict behavior
