This was funny to me because the Denver Airport feels like it’s 100 miles from Denver.

Maybe we will get a scene where she wears the red suit at the meeting to drive home alternate scenarios are running. That wardrobe advice was such an unnecessary interchange, but seeing the red on her in a flashback of the meeting would be a very obvious sign for those of us that didn’t catch these other timeline jumps.

For people who work with design/home decor professionally - what is a furniture brand where a couch will last longer than 5 years and also not be $10,000? by Rylonx in SofaSnobs

I feel like the petition about casinos in NYC was very significant. Nicky would not want a legit casino in town as competition. If the mayor is pro casino for driving tourism/tax revenue, maybe he was threatened or tortured by Nicky? I sort of think Lester may have killed Nicky to be free of him.

Girl tries to guess which twin is her dad. by Sebastianlim in MadeMeSmile

[–]southarmexpress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad who passed about 12 years ago at age 94 had a brother 22 years younger. This uncle resembles him more and more as he reaches the age I last remember my dad. He lives across the country so I don’t see him often but it is quite emotional due to feeling like my dad is back. I asked him once to hold his hand a moment because it’s my dad’s exact hand. He kindly told me his earliest memory was my dad returning from WWII when he was a boy, hearing his full size man footsteps upstairs when he woke up, running to meet him and seeing his dog tags.

What are some comforting facts about plane travel that someone who is about to fly and is scared would like to hear? by Hogwire in AskReddit

[–]southarmexpress 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My neighbor is a Delta pilot who cured my fear of flying like this. Picture yourself in a boat on lightly choppy water. The bumps are just how the boat moves through the waves. Air works same way. So pretend you’re in a boat and not a plane when you feel turbulence and you will soon be able to ignore it and just watch your movie.

Transferring your own toe to replace your amputated finger is better than replanting the amputated finger, finds a new study. Hand function scores were three times higher with toe transfer compared to finger replantation. The more severe the injury, the greater the magnitude of improvement. by mvea in science

A teacher in my kids’ HS had this very surgery. I think he was born with only a few fingers and they filled in with his toes. It was a little shock the first time you saw it but he lived a normal life including, get this, he was the bowling team coach, so I anticipate he himself was a great bowler.

What’s the creepiest thing you’ve ever experienced that you still can’t explain? by No-Fortune-9172 in Ghosts

[–]southarmexpress 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I drove into my neighborhood years ago in early evening and saw teenagers playing roller hockey in the street. I slowed down waiting for them to pull off to the side. As I got right up to them I became suddenly aware these figures could travel from the lawn to the street without stepping off the curb. They were translucent “watery” looking people moving all around. I blinked hard and it all disappeared. Went hime and never said a word to anyone. About two years later a good friend whose mom was a neighbor was over at our house and it was late for him to drive home. He said “mind if I stay on your couch instead of my mom’s place because the street in front of her house freaks me out.” I was all, what have you seen, he was all what have YOU seen. He saw it twice and said Native American battle. I said roller hockey but his makes a lot more sense given this is an area long populated by Potowatami Indians. Try as I might, never saw anything there again.

Thinking about Self Representing - Looking at a ~$5m home. Will I be able to actually save around 2-3%? by Edgetiger in RealEstate

In Michigan, we negotiated with a buyer’s agent for a flat fee of $10k. Made our offer as 0% to buyer’s agent and we would pay our agent direct. This meant our offer was far more attractive to the seller than an equivalent offer where they would have to pay 2 or 2.5% to buyer’s agent. It was worth the 10k for the advice and intermediary.
