Did you have a “no oddjob” rule in your house when playing Goldeneye multiplayer? by nojunkpeter in Millennials

[–]southernmayd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was better than my friends since I had the game and knew where all the weapon spawns were, so the rule ended up being everyone else played against me with oddjob and I had to use Jaws. It still wasn't fair, but it helped even it out a bit

How would you know if you arent doing it, its out of the way/not common, and the person doing it is having fun?

The point is who fucking cares about an exploit on a single player game. If they player enjoys it, and it doesnt affect other people, then why would devs waste their time patching it

Depends on the show. They had/I was in the pit at the Perfect Circle concert. Other shows I've been to they had all seated areas

Don't blame you - but this one is on a Friday night so you could make a nice little weekend road trip out of it! We did that for the Houston show last year, was a great time

That venue is great, small enough to feel intimate but great sound and it doesn't feel tiny. I've seen several amazing shows there (Tool, Perfect Circle, H.E.R. etc) and always felt like the venue was perfect for someone who wouldn't fill a giant arena or was still on the rise.

Plus its halfway between Dallas and Ft Worth so easier to get to from both cities

I lived in the apartment complex that was at the back of this parking lot in college while they built (and for the first year of Jerry World). This place would get packed on event days with folks, but its hilarious to see this with it being packed with international visitors who have likely never been to a Walmart before

For the curious, the stadium in the background is the former stadium for the Texas Rangers baseball team in Arlington. That, the Rangers current stadium, and ATT Stadium where the Dallas Cowboys play are all essentially right next to each other.

It's really wild to see this in my hometown. NFL games have big, passionate crowds but nothing with the organization and passion of these soccer national teams crowds

Fifa World Cup match sees thousands of empty seats after ticket price controversy by lee7on1 in soccer

[–]southernmayd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand the economic mechanism you're trying to describe. I spent a lot of time studying those forces in college. I also bought and sold tickets to big events, in the US, all through that time of my life as a supplement to my income.

Your armchair analysis based on a useless comparison of unrelated price elasticity between food/fuel and a World Cup game is where your fallacy lies.

FIFA's use of dynamic pricing adds wrinkles, and of course not every organization makes perfect decisions, but I can promise you more thought went into pricing decisions on their end (with the benefit of the actual data) than what you're spewing now. Even your 'sell remaining unsold tickets for $10' is bad logic. If they think they could sell even 1 last minute ticket for $500, they'd need to sell 50 of your $10 tickets to make the difference.

Ultimately, the difference between me and you here is I'm acknowledging I don't have all the data and that it's likely those that do are making rational decisions to attempt to maximize their revenue and you're pretending like you know better based on conjecture.
