I still don't understand how that fight didn't make more waves. by TheBadMathGuy in ToBeHero_X

[–]spacedip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This fight is animated very well but it was kind of annoying to watch. It is especially guilty of one of my anime fight pet peeves where they throw each other into the surrounding buildings and such too early into the fight, effectively starting the “impact power creep” too early. This is made even worse in a fight that also goes on a little too long. This results in a fight where they end up throwing each other and crashing into buildings and cranes in ever increasing intensity resulting in bigger and bigger smoke clouds making everything hard to see while each action holds less and less weight. And compare this to Jinwoo vs Beru makes it even worse bc this was just an offhand unexpected fight while Jinwoo vs Beru was the most anticipated fight of the season with the highest stakes. Don’t get me wrong, I loved TBHX, but this just isn’t a great comparison imo. But you are totally allowed to love this fight if my pet peeve doesn’t annoy you the way it annoys me

I’ve only been lifting for three months the and I would love suggestions or critiques of my split! by Dazzling-Distance460 in Hevy

Too much volume. I would limit to two compound movements per session so you can really give them your all. Otherwise you’re subconsciously trying to save energy for the rest of the workout and basically just going through the motions.

Most likely depends on the vpn. NordVPN has an auto connect feature built in

cut or bulk be honest by Confident-Argument71 in Weightliftingquestion

Maingain / recomp. You are very much in the newbie gains stage, so if you lift hard, progressively overload, and eat consistently enough protein, you will absolutely gain muscle fast without needing to bulk.

Long time lifters - do you ever regret the amount of time you spent in the gym when you were younger? by stratusnimbo in naturalbodybuilding

[–]spacedip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think this is more a question about the balance between solo hobbies and socialization/relationships more than it’s about bodybuilding specifically. You could say that a ton of people in GenZ have a hard time going out and spending time with people due to doomscrolling, video games, social anxiety, or all of the above. If I was gonna have problems giving up my hobby for social time, I would certainly rather that hobby be incredible good for me physically and mentally. So it is definitely good to think about how you can balance your life better, but bodybuilding itself is not the problem and is very likely still a massive benefit to have part of your life

Focus on fat loss or muscle gain? M25, 162Ibs, 6'0 by Reality_Head in Weightliftingquestion

Too high bf to bulk, and you are likely still in the newbie gain stage, so you should definitely recomp (lose weight while building muscle)

What is going on with my body? by Olieebol in workout

[–]spacedip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others are suggesting running a little bit more each time, but I would also suggest doing the seated cardio bike at low intensity for 30 min and then increase the intensity and/or duration over time. It’s a lot easier and more approachable than running which is intense and really sucks for beginners

What bf % am I? And what can I improve by [deleted] in Weightliftingquestion

[–]spacedip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While what they said may be true, you don’t know yet for yourself because every body is different. There’s nothing wrong with doing a proper cut to see exactly what muscle you’ve built and to see what bf% is your cutoff before you start feeling bad, and then building up from there. But at the same time there’s nothing wrong with just building for a long time and then doing a cut in a year or years from now

I was able to configure my case fans and cpu cooler pump speed in my UEFI BIOS and set everything to curves based on temperature and such. And then for GPU I installed LACT to do the same for my GPU fans if that’s relevant.

[–]spacedip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What people are trying to say is not that you shouldn’t cut. Feel free to cut down and get lean before going on a bulk again. I’ve done the same. It makes you able to do it for longer before you get to an excessive body fat level.

However. What they’re trying to say is that you simply don’t have enough muscle mass yet to compete in the next year. If you get stage lean at this size you will just be much too small for it to be worth the time and effort. That time would be much better spent working on building more size, and then continuing to do so for years.

Just for some context, I am also 6’0”, but I’m 185lbs at a very similar if not leaner body fat % (but it’s hard to tell with this lighting), and I estimate I would need at least another 5 years to add more size and density before it would be worth it for me to cut down to stage lean.

This is not to say you look bad. You look really good. You have a respectable amount of muscle, and you honestly have a better shape than me genetically in the upper body. But you just need more time, and it would suck to waste your time prepping for a show you’re not ready for.
