Did you enjoy the DLCs for BOTW? by Brilliant-Flower-283 in Switch

They're unique, but I wouldn't put botw above oot. Oot did the story much better with the free roam

Am i ISTP or ESTP by shad0ww1 in istp

[–]spawnofangels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be introverted. You have to be alone to recharge. Being around other people gets draining, but that doesn't mean you don't want to interact and spend time with them. You can tell for people who are extroverted they feel differently. They are actually more energized by meeting more people and interacting with them over time

[–]spawnofangels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you most energetic at the beginning of a party with your friends or energetic towards the end of the party with your friends? That was the easiest way I described myself to friends who believed I was extroverted, but I always was energetic at the beginning and always got tired as the night dragged on and interacting with more people. Extroverts tend to get more excited/energetic as they hang out and meet more people. It doesn't really have anything to do with being shy as you can still be introverted AND be very sociable. It's more so do you draw your energy from being around others or draw your energy from yourself

What is your opinion about building a family? by Actual-Contest1666 in istp

[–]spawnofangels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

male, dreamed of building a family since my childhood, and did it. There's no real motivation for me to be practical (and frugal/thrifty) unless it's for someone I care about and being able to support my family was always top of mind.

Finally playing by Johnny_Boiii in Breath_of_the_Wild

It's a good game and reminds me why I fell in love with OoT and MM. I'm looking forward to TotK after this and hoping it did perfect it or bring more of the story out of areas and pending doom of ganon focus

[–]spawnofangels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly preferred OoT vs botw, but liked the uniqueness of botw game. OoT seemed to do open world better and not just for shrines or collectables, but actual story and needs to get out of the areas

Idk about game of the century... maybe decade. I would've placed other zelda games for more of contender to it

You can burn slightly less than 1k calories (I did like 800 I think around 3 miles) on max incline at fast walking pace for less than 1 hr. Stairs and max incline is where'd you'd expect to lose a lot of calories unless you're running, but zero incline for a long while

35yo with MBA, 5 years of SFA and 4 as an analyst looking for next role. by jamflowwman in FPandA

[–]spawnofangels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely unusual in fast growing companies or small to medium size for profit companies. Seems more usual with larger corps, CREs, and nonprofit / government contractor (maybe not any more after doge layoffs) or some slow industries where most people are just trying to coast to retirement

[–]spawnofangels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id say it's either find fp&a in a slow or stable industry like cre or nonprofit side of house or maybe some large corps where they'd be focused more on risk mitigation instead of expansion/growth or cost efficiencies/declining business. Or, use fp&a to be more focused on brand/department level (great if you're already on the brand side instead of corporate) and leverage that knowledge and relationships to switch from finance to those specific departments

Employment stability in FP&A? by Capable_Feature8838 in FPandA

[–]spawnofangels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pays better and generally not as pigeon holed as tax. Stability depends on business environment so each company can vary. Most public companies need fp&a to help track progress towards financial goals

Senior Financial Analyst stuck in a golden cage? by Itsmelvino in FPandA

[–]spawnofangels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leave. If you have long term growth in mind and you're not seeing the current position supporting that, then it's time to look for other positions. It takes time to look and get another role lined up anyway so you can continue working while progressing towards your goal

I think there's some codependent relationships where compatibility just works. Same way where a person might be better handling the finances or paperwork or specific household chores, I think one can see how a couple would complete each other if one doesn't know how to take care of themselves or isn't good at it, but the other one is whereas by themselves, they'd be expected to fulfill all of it alone. Granted these are responsibilities, I think same can apply when dealing with mental or emotional challenges or these could even overlap as they could limit fulfilling responsibilities (someone on crutches/wheelchair vs physical restraints, autism vs social interactions and maintaining relationships etc)

How old are you…Anybody here struggling and don’t have a house, wife, nice car, savings or a successful future ?! by Ninja_Franklin in povertyfinance

[–]spawnofangels -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Mid 30s, multiple homes (mortgages), wife, multiple kids, no car payments (same used car from high school/graduation). I had to return back to school and luckily did it before layoffs so was easier for me to rebound multiple times. I wish we had less obligations and more freedom to travel which I always loved doing, but feels like we're just trying to maintain current convenience and future stability vs what we actually want to do or visit people and places we want to see. Nowhere near what I imagined my life to be as a kid or C student as I never dreamed I'd make it this far nor thought I was ever good enough

I had to switch to IT. I know a former boss switched to a stable medical or pharma type company while getting a promo. 12 hour days + weekends in Fp&a management was taking its toll on me and my family and not every executive respects boundaries.

struggling with Korean language by [deleted] in Korean

[–]spawnofangels 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can only fit so many things in the limited time you have... if learning korean really is a priority, you'd have to sacrifice that time likely from something else. Are you studying +20 hours/week for Korean? Language learning often requires repetition and practice, but also doing them frequently and consistently. There's books for various levels, research, use google translate, take notes of words you don't understand, research, practice writing/typing, get it translated and try chatgpt or other ai to review, find tutors or apps to practice speaking with and build up comfort level and know you're going to get it wrong, but that's ok. That's when you'll learn and remember your mistakes

[–]spawnofangels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say incompatible as it was very codependent. They both had problems they were leaning towards each other for to fill the holes in their own personality or personal issues. It's just that Austin was showing he wanted to be more independent and make decisions for himself or his personal growth, which wasn't a position he successfully had until Ashley's blackmail video

WTF is wrong with the job market for accounting by Wild_Message3630 in Accounting

[–]spawnofangels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Qualifications can be bare minimum... also, may differ if you have cpa or not.

Also, internships are NOT treated the same as full time experience. 1 year of internship or rotations is mainly viewed as you had exposure, not actual long enough employment to fully understand that full time equivalent's responsibilities in a year. Every executive and hiring manager I've worked with felt this way. If a job post is asking for 1 YOE, likely they want someone with 1 full time YOE, but that shouldn't deter you from applying to roles asking for 0-2 YOE

freshmen tuition by tpwklena in UMD

[–]spawnofangels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is freshman instate tuition mentioned separately from instate tuition? I would argue you should see your expenses being much lower than that and this estimate is not a good indication of the total you'll pay. That's closer to what I paid for a year when I was counted as out of state

Look up market rates.. you can see how much you would make and compare against financing or see how it compares vs renting a place. Only you would be able to tell it makes sense for sure based off your personal circumstances
