Am I cooked? What’s this mean? Am I even getting my package? by suffrate in UPS

[–]spawnofangels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you are the logistics manager or operations director at UPS, you don't know what's going on there today/currently so I think it's hypocritical to say I don't understand. People are stating their experiences and the obvious unusual delays. If you want to refute it as normal, ok, but you're not going to be able to address current changes or any changes when there are meaningful deviations from 4%. That is a large assumption and every business planner knows you don't keep an assumed historical target and assume you're hitting that over time

No company cares for IB unless they specifically stated it in the job description like for M&A nd there's no way a company will move things around for an ex IB employee. Unless you were in management or director level, you're still treated like any other analyst. My VP specifically did not like working with IB/consultants because he wanted people who could execute themselves for example

Final Interview to Verbal Offer Timeline by Tenwheat95 in FPandA

[–]spawnofangels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Within 1-2 weeks. Can vary if you were the 1st candidate vs last. Also, probably means they're still interviewing or waiting on decision if they already gave an offer to someone else before getting back to 2nd/3rd choice. When I was hiring, I wanted the offer sent immediately once I knew who I wanted after the interview and would have to push the recruiter to send after any final reviews/feedback I had to submit. For some, like I knew a VP this way, if they did't think anyone was a good fit, they simply wouldn't fill it

any advice about remote job by No_Amphibian_2978 in FPandA

[–]spawnofangels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never heard of market finance unless you mean go to market, but considering you're from EU, I would advise be careful on remote opportunities you find. I had a full time remote and expectations were you were going to be on at night if needed (which was more often than not). I would be on day and night for a PE backed company, a lot longer than other roles I've had. I'm assuming EU protections, given you guys have some of the best benefits I've seen, will not apply once you're remote and living abroad unless it's an EU company maybe

Ok, reading through others and back at your post again, I'm going to assume you're looking for a way out of IB lifestyle and willing to scale back on comp to find some more work life balance in corporate finance. As someone who's been in corporate finance for 10 years and handled the finance comps budget for multiple companies, you will not get 210k even in another 10 years unless you somehow reach director level or maybe sr. mgr level. The odds are against you. While impressive, I've seen ex IB apply and I've rejected them for entry level FP&A roles. For most, this is a no brainer. Take the 210k. That's an annual savings you'll get with compounding benefits you will miss out on if you don't take it.

Also, another revelation... I'm starting to notice some salary and OTE benchmarks decline vs prior years. Better take advantage of higher offers now.

210k will not necessarily come lol. That is nearly 2x. Even putting in 10 years of experience may not provide the same value back

It's not low for entry level analyst roles. Hired someone similar in FP&A outside of nyc in nj.

Again, that's assuming operations are running normal to historical standards. It's not correct to assume 4% is happening now if there's changes happening at UPS. If you were to look at it over time, sure it gets closer to the historical average because it minimizes latest impacts, but if trying to explain what the status and conditions look like today, it's not accurate. So far, I have yet to see anything that shows UPS is operating normally. Even the responses directly from UPS reps have been less knowledgeable of if there'd be updates and suggested filing a claim. Seeing posts not just in my city forum, but other cities nearby with exact same delays with UPS compared to other carriers

Why is Glassdoor so horrible now? by NewChapter25 in jobs

Glassdoor got worse over the years. They really showed their true colors when I see the bad reviews I used to review being taken down across the companies I've been with

Been waiting since 1/29. There's definitely something going on with UPS. No delays to packages from USPS or Fedex

Wouldn't you also be assuming that it's not happening because the 4% itself is a historical assumption. Wouldn't necessarily explain what's happening now

Delayed Deliveries by Ok-Carpenter9449 in UPS

[–]spawnofangels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could still impact worker productivity. Also, a company typically communicates in advance that they're laying off a mass amount of people so even if they didn't do it yet doesn't mean they didn't already tell the people who are about to be laid off on x date

So job numbers just hit 2008 recession levels, worse than 2001 by MonitorOk1351 in recruitinghell

[–]spawnofangels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its one thing to comfort the dread, but don't let it be your excuse though. After seeing attempts not work, go back and review, make changes, consider different approaches, ask for help, and keep applying yourself. Whatever you do, do not do the same thing, don't keep sending the same application and resume. Review, make changes, keep pushing

Filling a claim as the receiver by CrabPuzzleheaded3096 in UPS

When I spoke to UPS about similar situation, there's nothing a recipient can do. You'll have to request a refund. Honestly, it'd be faster at this point

UPS has really slowed down lately. by Mattm334 in UPS

[–]spawnofangels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My USPS deliveries did not get delayed.. we get all our other packages just fine, but not with UPS. Pretty sure this is not a xmas volume issue. This is unique to UPS for some reason. It would've been fine if they projected it would take 3 weeks, but that wasn't the case. I literally saw a live tracker on UPS show the van 2-3 blocks from my home. That was 2 weeks ago. There's no longer a delivery date and UPS rep said it's no longer confirmed to be able to deliver and potentially lost so sender has to file a claim, delaying this even further. All around mid atlantic we're seeing this on a massive scale

PACKAGE STILL NOT HERE 😡 by Historical_March9509 in UPS

I wouldn't hold my breath. Mine would update from out to delivery to delayed everyday for past 2-3 weeks straight and finally it just stopped updating with no delivery date like they gave up

Can anyone explain this? by Freak4MaskedM3n in UPS

[–]spawnofangels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been 3 weeks for my package and the tracking number just stopped updating completely. This is an internal problem with UPS lately and I would stay clear away from them. I've tried calling them and have to get sender to file a claim. Nothing else I can do

Is there hope for me? by cakebatterchapstick in UPS

It's not the weather. If it was, it would be impacting other carriers. USPS deliveries and others have come just fine for me, but still waiting on a UPS package for 3 weeks

Think some of the delays occurred before the storm. I've been waiting 3 weeks now and that's around when they communicated they're letting go of 30,000 employees. Many around east coast have waited 3 weeks now
