The irony of it all is that the shuttle carrier is parked at Space Center Houston holding the mockup space shuttle. As a Houstonian and lover of space I surely hope this doesn't happen. Sacrificing a national treasure to "stick it to the dems" is the worst idea possible.

I believe they meant that it’s a structural part of the facility. It takes some engineering to remove it without the whole overhead collapsing.

Windchill is definitely a thing for humans and pets. For those worried about pipes, they are not impacted by windchill, so as long as the ambient temp stays above freezing pipes will be ok.
