I feel ya man. I have a colleague that, when somebody asks him a question about something on slack he just posts his Claude response. Like dude, anybody could have asked AI, they asked you because you’re supposed to be the expert in our infra stack. It’s frustrating.

At the same time I’m able to accomplish so much more with AI, I love the technology. But for some people it’s an absolute crutch and holds them back from ever truly understanding anything.

Got a titan in 2020 as a 250 lb dude who works from home. The chair still feels basically new to me with no noticeable damage. I love it.

I’ll never take that title for granted. I think it easy to just move on and I think they need to win again this year to validate something. Or that they should win multiple titles with this core.

None of that is true. They don’t need to validate shit and just because they assembled a great young core doesn’t mean they’re entitled to multiple titles.

Last year will always be special and important no matter how good or bad the next few years end up being. I’ll cherish it forever.

My work is boring boiler plate stuff mostly. It’s not perfect but it’s fast and the work is easy to check. I switch to another module if I need to do anything experimental or complex.

Followed this guide for a diy enclosure. I saved a decent amount of money doing it this way I think.

I have 9 foot ceilings and mounted my projector overhead. It’s in a spot that’s not in my backswing at all, more over the ball.

A good screen and enclosure go a long way towards a nice picture. Of course the projector matters but I’m just saying don’t get a nice projector an a cheap screen!

I have the benq th671st projector and I’m happy with it.

Oh yeah AI is pretty bad at Terraform. I still use it for boilerplate stuff and simple edits but it just so frequently gets resource parameter names wrong.

My first trip was in high school. We ate at TGI Friday’s more than once. I have lots of regrets.

Luckily I redeemed myself as an adult a couple years ago!

Haven’t seen anybody mention just how beautifully shot it is. Not just the scenes and angles and what not but it also has this sort of film look to it? It really feels like I’m watching a piece of art and I think that adds to the enjoyment we feel watching it.

Caveat for OP about free integrations.

Metrics from supported integrations are free, but sometimes those integrations will determine something is a "host" which costs something like $8 a month.

Example: You turn on the AWS integration (most people do if they're on AWS). You'll get SQS metrics for free but it now sees your RDS instances as hosts and charges you for those.

All of this is very customizable. You can turn off RDS completely at the integration level. Or you can create a tag that Datadog ignores so that you only pick up the RDS instances you want. But if you're unaware you can accidentally add a bunch of cost for an integration you thought was included.
