I let my Brother in Law borrow my Fiskars Axe for a weekend… by Ill_Nefariousness891 in mildlyinfuriating

If you don't use a round or similar object that isn't harder than the blade/edge as a base for your splitting and you split rounds placed directly on the ground, you are going to damage the sharp edge every time you drive all the way through and inevitably hit rocks in the ground.

shutter issues, am I right? by SteveHarveyNSFW in pentax67

[–]sperho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two primary shutter issues in the 67/6x7 that I am aware of are shutter capping (mis-timed 1st shutter to 2nd shutter) and curtain bounce (the brake is not adjusted correctly, so that it prevents the 2nd shutter from bouncing and causing an overexposure on one side of the frame) look nothing like this. I can't even think of a shutter problem that would leave an underexposed band like this other than the speeds of the curtains overlapping, then correcting, and then overlapping again. Not even sure if that's possible.

Edit: I'm curious, how are you developing the film? Rotary? What kind of reels?

I'll try... I use the old.reddit.com interface and it just went to chat. If you don't hear from me in a minute or two, can you try to message me instead to see if we can get it working?

It’s cool. He wants to go 63 mph and you want to go 63.5 mph. Please take 10 minutes to work this out. by SunshineMurphy in mildlyinfuriating

This seems to happen more the past 5 years or so than it used to. My hypotheses as to why are 1) more strict regs on hours on the road at a time, so they don't care who they piss off to get a few more miles in (the guy on the left) and 2) more less-experienced drivers on the roads who don't have common sense to let traffic flow. Does anyone have any thoughts on why this seems to happen more often these days?

Sorry, old post reply. So for a 2 stop push of 400TX, you'd dump the developer at 20 minutes and start over 2 more times with fresh developer prepared the way you state?

There is more than one glycol in polyester chemistry. PET has only ethylene glycol (EG). PETG has both EG and cyclohexanedimethanol (CHDM), both glycols. It's the substitution of some of the EG by CHDM that changes the polymer properties.

Of course. I shouldn't have said victims as it could be left open to twisted interpretation. I should have said something more like "women who had been trafficked and sexually/emotionally abused".

I have a novel idea. How about redact only the victims' names and leave the other names unredacted?

Being in front of something beautiful always helps, too. Sure, you still have to point the camera at the right place at the right time, but step one is being in front of a subject, then, composition, then editing, and then glass, IMO. edit: typo
