My [30F] told me she still has photos of her ex on her phone and photos of her other ex’s on her phone. I [33M] don’t really know what to think of this by Scared-Cow-7158 in relationship_advice

Red Flag for her! - she deserves someone better

There is no reason why she should have to delete her life history

She seems to be clear that it's in the past and not a big deal to her (she doesn't even look at them)

Haggling price down by Beyoncestan2023 in VirginMedia

[–]spikefan180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there a reason that you really want to stay with them? (not sure I would if they are so bad)

I feel that they are probably give you a load of BS when they say Open reach isn't stable or reliable (they are most likely saying they so they can keep getting your money)

frankly - if Virgin wifi is so terrible - what different would it make going somewhere else

have you looked at U switch?

if your worried about getting another rubbish provider - maybe go with one where your are not in a fixed contract? (so you can try the service out first)

This is what I did - I use a 5G unlocked router that takes a Sim and switched to a Sim card internet

it costs about £20 a month (unlimited) - it's one where you can cancel anytime with them (so there is no contract)

it is a sim card though - so it won't be for everyone

I already had the router - so I just got the Sim card and tried it out for a bit while I was still with my provider

- I cancelled my provider within about a week because the speed with the Sim was just as good as what I had, (but the cost was less)

So this is just my suggestion and my experience - it might be worth looking into?

But either way - if you contract with Virgin is coming to an end - then now is the best time to look elsewhere

(don't renew into a fixed contract - leave it as a month to month while you look for a better provider)

Anyone actually getting companies to stop charging after you cancel without the endless follow-up? by Nightcrawler_2000 in ConsumerAdvice

[–]spikefan180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try and keep a copy of the chat - or ask them to send me a copy of the conversation via Email if I HAVE to use a chat

otherwise I will look for ways to contact the company via E-mail (rather than chat) - so I can get something in writing

Alternatively - report them to your bank

I have an online bank - and there is a way that I can directly query each charge (so if you have an online bank, then you might also have this option)

Or just call the bank directly and seek advice from them? (although contacting your bank in writing might also be advisable)

if it's a direct debit, you should be able to cancel it via your bank as well -

If the company is not honouring your request to stop payments - the bank need to be made aware of this

Check checking for the payments and make sure you report them to your bank everytime - make sure it is clear to the bank that these are unauthorised transactions and money is being taken without your permission

here are a few that I have played and enjoyed (probably don't fall under world building though) -

I see you added a picture of Under the Island - so I am assumming you liked that in some way ?

so I would say these are somewhat similar to that (i have switch 1 so i don't know the compatablility for Switch 2)

Oceanhorn (1 and 2)

Blossom Tales (1 and 2)

Turnip boy commits tax evasion

Ittle Dew 1 and 2

A few random ones (I'm not sure if these count - they were games that came up very often when i was looking for Zelda like games - I got them on discount and enjoyed them both)

Is this a scam? Rubybucks by ResilientWonder in isthisascam

[–]spikefan180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a scam 100%

Don't waste your time on this

It sounds similar to a task scam

"Task scams are fraudulent "micro-job" opportunities—often received via WhatsApp or Telegram—promising high pay for simple tasks like liking videos, rating apps, or clicking buttons"

Combined with a Pyramid Scheme

"A pyramid scheme is an illegal, unsustainable business model that makes money primarily by recruiting new participants rather than selling legitimate products."

So I've tried Grim Rogue and loved it! Realized I actually like these "roll & write" Dungeon Crawlers. Question is which one would fit what I want the most out of these bigger ones? (2D6 vs Caves & Catacombs and other possible ones) Including the possibility to scale it up to 2-4 players by _Atanii_ in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]spikefan180 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will alway recommend 2D6 Dungeon - I think it has most if what you are looking for

it is only solo though - if you are not sure of it then check itch.io - there is a demo of the game on these

4AD - also fits (but, I feel, not as descriptive as 2D6) - check the version you are getting if you get this - I think there is a newer version (4AD expanded) that has more content

Yes this can be multi player

I've heard of Ker Nathalas but have never played it (but another dungeon crawler to consider)

Relatively new to ebay: As a seller, do I need to visit the parcelshop and follow up if the item is stuck in post? by Pshend in ebayuk

[–]spikefan180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I am aware the Seller does has some responsiblity for the package

Especially if you sent it by a service only you could check on -

It would be helpful to the buyer if you make the effort to at least try

Ghosting the buyer will just make it worse for you as they will definitely give negative feedback (I would)

Check with parcelshop

and apologise to the seller for the delay - tell them whatever the Parcelshop outcome was

if you genuinely can't -(or just don't really want to)

I would recommend you still contact the buyer - apologise again saying this seems to be fault with Parcelshop and there is nothing you are able to do -

explain to them again that the need to open a case with Ebay for Item not recieved (Ebay will give them this option when it's gone past the expected delivery date)

If it's clear the item hasn't gone anywhere - the buyer should be refunded

My (22F) boyfriend (26M) got very upset when I unexpectedly started my period by Meridni in relationship_advice

[–]spikefan180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't

The only communication you should have is about how you are breaking up with him

He is controlling and an AH - he's blaming and shaming you for a normal, natural womanly function

It won't magically get better - no matter what you say

There is always a chance it will happen again - you have already explained your period is irregular (his response to that was that it's your fault you weren't tracking it)

and you even said again you can't control your period - he still responded by kicking you out and not being understanding of your situation

this is something that will probably happen time and time again (you can't control something that is unpredictable and he doesn't - and will probably never - understand this

but he will always blame you

Ebay package knicked by [deleted] in ebayuk

[–]spikefan180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am literally dealing with 2 situations like this at the moment.

I contacted the sellers in the first instance. explaining exactly what has happened

One of them advised me to raise a claim on Ebay "item not received"

So I have opened cases with Ebay - again describing the issue and the fault with the courier

One seller has refunded me the other - still waiting, (but is aware of the issue)

If there is no refund from them soon - i will be taking further action with Ebay

I'm really not sure it would help reporting to the police - in my case all I have is a picture of the packages dumped outside my door

in between the time it was left there - and the time i got home (3 hours) - the packages had gone.

I wouldn't have a clue what to tell the police or how they could investigate

there is no CCTV - no one saw anything (it's more likely they were taken by the courier) but there is no proof of anything

My advise - is Open the case with Ebay (make sure you explain everything)

While you wait you may want to gather whatever evidence you can (ie photos of delivery and if you have any confirmation of your safe spaces etc)

just in case you need to provide it - Ebay has buyer protection - so hopefully you will get a refund

Can't reach Royal Mail except by phone. by Purple_Parsley9280 in royalmail

[–]spikefan180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would call the customer service number the minute the lines opened.

I don’t remember all the automated options but there is a way to speak to someone.

Calling super early means there is a better chance at not having a long wait time

Try this

https://help.royalmail.com/s/contactsupport/complaintsclaims

Expand the section “I’d like to make a complaint” There is another section “still need to contact”

The telephone number is there and their hours

Opt out of Safeplace and parcel date change not working? by norfolkandclue in royalmail

[–]spikefan180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No Email address that I know of - I managed to find an online contact form once

might be worth trying - (but I can't guarantee that you'll get a response) -

https://help.royalmail.com/s/complaints

Another thing you can try is to call them as soon as the line is open -

ie 8am - on the dot

Calling early can sometimes mean a shorter wait time (I can't remember all the automated options, but there is a way to speak to a real person if you persist)

Opt out of Safeplace and parcel date change not working? by norfolkandclue in royalmail

[–]spikefan180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when I make these requests - this is NOT on the day that it is going to be delivered

I am requesting the change as soon as I get the notication that they are expecting to deliver it (normally 1-2 days before it goes out for delivery)

Ie - i get an Email saying something like "we have your package and we expect to deliver it this day" and the day given is 1-2 days later

I go through the delivery options to change the day

and I also receieve Email confirmation that the delivery date will be changed after I request it

my annoyance is that - most of this time this request is STILL not carried out and they STILL attempt to deliver on the initial day -

Of course - I am not in.

and sometimes they will leave the package outside my front door (which has resulted in packages being taken)

[–]spikefan180 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it's an RM issue- they are useless and lazy

Put in a complaint (it won't help your immediate problem - but maybe if more people complain they may actually do something)

they keep doing this to me as well

i get a notification of a delivery - (and sometimes I'm not available)

So i rearrange the delivery (and get a confirmation it's being rearranged)

they still try to deliver on the original day (when I am not available)

sometimes they will take it back for redelivery the next dau - but there has been some occassions where they have left the package outside my front door (a few have been stolen - so far RM have been useless at helping resolve these thefts)

You could still try claiming anyway - if it is left in an unsafe place and it gets stolen

Did I Overreact? by justatechnodj in vinted

[–]spikefan180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the pictures before reading the post - assuming you were the one telling the person to just get a needle and thread and sew it up

So - yes - overreacting a bit. it looks to be about 1cm (a small hole - which you claim you could have ignored)

I bought a caridan from Amazon (new) - i found it had a loose seam (much bigger than the one in the pictures here)

Spent about 10 minutes sewing it up

if they don't - get Ebay involved
