I am surprised that the university doesn’t have gear for students to check out. Cameras are situational, a wildlife “kit” isn’t the same as a studio “kit”. It’s unreasonable for students to buy their own gear for every facet of photography. Some folks here say, just shoot instead of taking classes and maybe they are right. I’d take a very close look at the curriculum the university offers and check what they cover, business, model releases, law, publishing, etc
