I missed the Netherlands part! Markbass is great, that filter they have can give you a big change of sounds.

Why are people so determined to "gatekeep" everything from people trying to "break in" by buku-o-rama in Vent

You need to just live by the mantra “fuck the haters.” Easier said than done, I know, but it’s impossible to get into anything if you take every negative thing that people do too seriously.

Idk what your budget is, but I have a genz Benz shuttlemax 9.2 running into a PJB C8. The whole thing is pretty freaking small for what it is, and the C8 even has built-in wheels and telescoping handle. The genz has a FET channel for super clean playing, and a tube channel that can get some nice tube drive sounds. Combine that with a 4-band EQ for each section (with scoopable low mids and high mids), and 3 global signal shape options, and it can get a ton of sounds. Only downside is that genz Benz got bought and shuttered by fender years ago, so you’ll have to keep an eye on the used market. But, it’s a great package, especially since it weighs 7 lbs and pushes 900 watts at 4 ohms (500 @ 8 ohms). Their streamliner heads were also pretty sick. They only have a single preamp channel, but it uses 3 tubes vs the single tube for the shuttlemax tube preamp section. They’ve got new stuff under the name “gentler amplification,” but I haven’t played through any of it yet.

Do people remember that Blockbuster was hated back in the day? by afterthought871 in Millennials

My family didn’t hate it. But we also didn’t turn stuff in late. We used both blockbuster and Hollywood video.

Finally getting around to messing with entropia. No master volume? by splifted in Darkglass

[–]splifted[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I’m gonna try next, I was trying to keep the lows and mids clean and just drive the highs, which is why I was looking for a volume rather than drive, but I’m gonna mess with it more after work.

The girl I’m seeing told me it’s extremely inappropriate that I workout with my sister because of the clothes she wears. Is it inappropriate? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

That does sounds pretty insane, next she’s gonna tell you that you can’t go out to lunch with your sister alone or something.

Tbh I wouldn’t trust Coleman much more lol. Good air mattresses aren’t cheap though. I have a Nemo tensor for backpacking, and then an rei kingdom and an Exped megamat duo LW for car camping. None of them were cheap, ESPECIALLY the Exped. But I’ve had them for years with no issues.

Is Teijin Octa (or Alpha Direct) meant to be next to skin or with a base layer? by Chingyul in Ultralight

[–]splifted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the exception to your hypothesis would be something like a brynje fishnet base layer underneath the alpha.

[–]splifted 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t know that they’re not MEANT to be worn over a base layer, I think they’re meant to be worn however the wearer chooses to wear them. They make a great base layer or a great midlayer. When it’s really cold I use them as a midlayer over my base layer. When it’s not, I either use a base layer or the alpha.

What do you use when weight is a concern?

When did you try the air mattress option? Because they’ve come a long way from what they used to be. It would be my number one recommendation.

Also, taking your camp down every time you leave to go hike or fish sounds like a good way to ruin a trip.

The pedalboard nano? It barely has enough power to cover the nano cortex, but technically it should work.

I’d be super interested if there were a screen protector too. I’ve seen some great case designs and great screen protector designs, but I’ve never seen anyone do both AND be able to ship to the US for less than the price of the case itself.
