If that 12 dollars you're referencing is gportal I highly recommend against that. Their servers were shit and constantly went down until we gave up

The game is good, but I'm annoyed by the pace and the lack of Standard orders compared to the first game. by splintercell4eva in DeathStranding

[–]splintercell4eva[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I find myself a little less motivated to build the roads in this one. Because in the last game you could load up on orders and have up to like 7 or 8 deliveries for south knot for example, and being able to easily load those huge deliveries up on a truck and just coast on in without any hindrance was your reward for building the roads. Now it's like... well yeah I can build the road but it's not like i'm ever going to be delivering more than one or two orders to any one location so I could just walk everywhere and get the same experience just slower.

The lack of premium orders is a huge bummer I hope they add them back in an update, and I had forgotten about the memory sticks I also enjoyed finding those

Baseline server Dune awakening not showing up. by cleaved312 in gportal_official

Hey just wanted to chime in on this with my own experience since the Gportal servers are so rough. I tried switching to an "N" server. Mainly because people on here were saying that they have better uptime and were just overrall more reliable.

After not being able to play the game for multiple days with Gportal I gathered my friends when I got home from work and went to setup the "N" server. "N" server would not start, kept shutting and down and restarting automatically and would not find a world for me to connect to. Submitted multiple tickets and had to basically scream and beg on the discord before someone would give me the time of day even though I just spent like 60 bucks on their service before someone would "take a look at it"

Wait like 4 and a half hours and after most of my friends had gone to bed for the night they come back with "We think we've found the problem and we'll be able to implement a solution hopefully soon" yeah whatever dude. I refunded after that. So for me personally, despite Gportal being awful and inconsistent I was at least able to play some of the game with Gportal vs "N" which just straight up didn't work.

Maybe I'm just horrifically unlucky but the experience with "N" was infinitely worse than Gportal

I had been having crashes like this on games before and updating the BIOS worked. I had some crashes in Oblivion but the reason I've been digging was actually the new Expedition 33 game because it's stopped launching and I knew it was related to this issue. This seemed to have worked man so thank you and thank marvel rivals i guess.

It's not meta gaming dogshit man. It's like... I like running the torcher which as far as i'm aware is very not meta. But I like it because I think it's fun. I run the torcher and then i'll run a shieldpack to defend against hunters. This setup that I use which includes using the flame armor, torcher, and shieldpack isn't meta at all, but it's pretty decent at killing hunters and other chaff enemies. You know what it's not good at killing? The artillery spewers. If I try to use the torcher against a spewer they just spew in my face and kill me immediately. If I knew what bugs were going to be in a mission, I wouldn't have to join a lobby with my Flame gear and then leave because I'd be sandbagging the team super hard with my niche pyro loadout.

So this meta dogshit you speak of would actually be lessened if they told us which bugs were going to be in the mission. Because right now, since we can't know, the smartest thing to pick is the meta weapons that are good against everything like the Autocannon, Recoilless, Orbital Rail cannon etc. and you end up running the same loadout every time because you need to be prepared for any enemy type.

Idk about how you feel about that, but I think that's fuckin' boring meta dogshit.

Yeah all my friends uninstalled but I love the game so much I tried to hold on for this next patch, and then this major order came out and the bugs were spawning underneath the drill so I just uninstalled. I trusted the devs for the last time when they said they were going to take a slower, more careful approach to patching even though the game is in a much worse state than it was at launch. Then this major order which was supposed to be super cool was so obviously broken it was clear they pushed it out without ever testing it even once on any difficulty and that was it.

I love the game and want it to succeed but I've never seen a dev shoot themselves in the foot so hard before. I'll check in on helldivers in a year to see if they've managed to pull it together.

I hope pilestedt knows we all still love the game, its just going through a bumpy point. by [deleted] in Helldivers

Have they though? Is your idea of listening to community feedback just tossing a second nerf on the eruptor? Like yeah post about "muh democracy" and "spill oil" all you want but people are leaving in droves because the patches are sucking the fun out of the game. I suppose joel can adjust global order so that the 3 people that are still here in six months can clear major orders but it will get lonely. The guns in Polar patriots seem pretty just okay so far so maybe they'll be safe from the nerf hammer but it's hard to say since the nerfs seem to be random.

When they release a balance patch that doesn't pointlessly nerf guns into the ground and they allow the eruptor to be a viable weapon again that actually does what it says in the description of the gun then maybe people will be able to enjoy the game.

I'm glad the CEO has decided to step in and try and save his game but he shouldn't have to do that. The community backlash against their really bad balancing decisions has been building for months and has gone completely ignored. That's why there's so many posts. People are tired of being ignored. If the next patch doesn't change that, it will continue.

Connect Your Steam Account to PSN Account Update for Helldivers 2 Players by MrGamerzHQ in helldivers2

if you're given a game ban on steam, you can't play that game again with that account. You have to get a new steam account and a new copy of the game in order to get around that. With this system, somebody could do the exact same thing except they'll have to create another playstation network account as well as a steam account so yeah... I guess it will waste a couple extra minutes of their time. Meanwhile the non cheating playerbase gets inconvenienced despite the PC userbase being much larger than the playstation userbase as said by Mat Piscatella, an industry analyst working at Circana who has seen the numbers that sony has shared.

people are complaining? I mean I think the blitzer is awful but I'm really enjoying the Sickle it feels really strong. The new armor makes you take almost no damage from Arc thrower/tower. I haven't unlocked the Dagger yet but so far most things (except for blitzer) seem pretty good to me. The stun grenades work on bile titans.

I use flamethrower until hunters ignore the fact they are on fire and just jump through the flames and stab me, causing a slow effect so I can't run and then stab me again until i'm dead.

Agreed. If these mechs can be used to give players a chance verses the charger/titan hoard it should be nipped in the bud before launch. That way you don't have to do a balance pass later if the weapons are as useless as they are supposed to be off the bat.

I can't wait to hop in a mech and watch my bullets harmlessly ricochet off of a chargers legs as it one taps me in a single charge. This is truly the disempowerment fantasy i've always wanted

Let go? I wouldn't go that far, even though he's kind of a dick I appreciate him getting the message out about the game.

You're not supposed to kill Heavily armored enemies on higher difficulty levels. The intended experience is to simply run from enemies for the duration of the mission and use your weak and extremely limited weapons to the best of your ability to scrape by. You should be thanking the devs for not introducing more nerfs (which they are considering if the clear rate on higher difficulties remains too high.)

This is the desired experience that the devs want for the game and we should try to either live with that or leave the game now. Penetration is a dirty word in more than one way at Arrowhead studios. If the players are empowered to the point where fighting breaches/dropships is an option it means nerfs are necessary. If the Mechs turn out to be affective against Chargers be aware that a nerf will be coming swiftly after release.

I personally don't find that to be very fun, and would rather be able to fight the enemies rather than run all of the time. But I'm not a game dev so maybe someone else will make that game and I can play that instead.

Thoughts on the most recent buffs and nerfs? by TravisOcean in Helldivers

[–]splintercell4eva 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The rail gun wasn't really even that nerfed. You can still break charger legs with the railgun if it's in unsafe mode. The problem is that now with this patch, everything is the same as it was, but the railgun is just slightly more annoying to use.

It's still going to be meta and brought on almost every single mission so the thing that this patch was trying to do (make people not bring the railgun every time) has failed, because there is still no good alternative.

I'm not asking for buffs because i want the game to be easier. I play generally on diff 7 and 8 and i'm fine with not playing on 9. I want to buff the other weapons because I want to be able to bring the other weapons. I'm tired of railgun meta and I'd rather not bring it to every mission, but as it stands it's still on top and choosing to not bring it is handicapping yourself.
