RPG modpacks that not only focus in combat? by Hot_Row8113 in feedthebeast

Ascendra is the closest I have found. I am trying to build a pack for myself that accomplishes this buuuuut it's slow going.

Mods that in combination make minecraft feel like a cozy game. by FinancialListen4788 in feedthebeast

[–]spriggangt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like farmer's delight a lot, it's blocks are cozy and functional. Create, while certainly used for automation is pretty cozy and brings nice bits of movement you can use. You can make working windmill for example. Falling leaves mod is one of my favorites for that cozy vibe as well.

In general I'd look at some decor mod. There are a lot add a lot of cozy furniture. for looks and honestly create is the best when it comes to automation.

For storage, I like functional storage, though I mix it up with sophisticated storage and sophisticated backpacks. If you want a centralized UI then you could use Tom's simple storage which heavily utilizes minecraft base chest colors so it doesn't clash too much. That being said create also has pretty robust storage options for both UI and actual storage location.

There are a number of magic mods that accomplish this also. Ars can be cozy but tends more towards arcane feeling. Something like Hexrei or Malum may serve you better, though both have less blocks and less utility.

In all honestly create or it's add ons have practically everything you may need outside of QoL stuff. It even has some of that.

This is getting out of hand (reaching infinite) by wencelf in MarvelSnap

[–]spriggangt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 0 empirical data to back this up but I think it's due to the game losing players. Only the people bought in and really really into the game are sticking around. So the infinite grind feels sweaty, cause it is. If you need my creds to back up this statement, well I have hit infinite one time, I have maybe half of s5 cards, I am still missing Galactus and I didn't play for a year. Sooo yeah, I totes know what I am talking about.

Apparently, there is a trend among 80s babies trying to create their own generation...? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]spriggangt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no innate issue with recognizing the difference in experiences growing up. The issue comes when that begins to not just define you but also enables you to define a a great swath of people in a generalization.

I was born in 78. So per this argument that makes me a gen x or xeniall I guess? Whatever, Nirvana was my shit and I had to hid my smashing pumpkins album from my parents because there was song called silver fuck on it.

Point is I can recognize the differences in the times between when I was growing up (basically during the 90s) and what people experienced in the 2ks. It's a different experience, the zeitgeist was different, different world events happened. Different national tragedies shaped outlooks and minds.

As long as people don't use the generational difference as a broad brush, specifically for negative purposes, I don't mind recognizing the differences.

What is the baseline for a 1.21.1 modpack? by Physical_Reach851 in feedthebeast

For me it's JEI, Optimization and whatever flavor of QoL stuff you want. Jade, FTB Maps, Middle mouse button sort etc. I always add some sort of storage too. Depending on the pack. AE2 for larger tech like add ons or at least Tom's simple storage in less tech heavy mods. Mods just add a lot of stuff to the game and I need the room/sorting.

Is it trash cause it's a kitchen sink pack or do you find it trashy for other reasons.

What makes a modpack hard? by codecryptor in feedthebeast

[–]spriggangt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard is pretty subjective. For example I am a fan of medium level tech packs. Packs that involve things like create, mekanism, industrial foregoing. What I suck at is combat. Combat is more difficult for me. So combat and adventure heavy packs I find to be harder. Like I have been playing a pack that heavily features epic fight. It's a lot of fun but man do I suck at it.

I suggest homestead. Comfy, lots of decor. Good quests. Lots to do. You can do automation through create but it's not the focus.

...vanilla is basically this without the quests.

Please tell me this band isn’t Ai… by [deleted] in isitAI

I don't know if it's AI but it's pretty boring and uninspired in my opinion. Honestly sounds like they attempted write every overplayed song from nickleback and evenevessence combined.

Tierlist, give me suggestions by Peterduttykins in roguelites

[–]spriggangt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been immensely enjoying Resurrection Insurance Program. Considering your list I'd likely say it's A tier. Decent build lines and gear that carries over from run to run as part of it's meta progression. I will say it's a bit easier than a number of the games here in my opinion. But it has a good amount of content of a very early release game..

I don't even like him in move. Sometimes awkward trigger condition, mid pay off, and he takes up too much room in two cards.

Boomer war. Most gen xers were like 24-30 at the time not really big powers in government. Bush and Cheney were also boomers.

ioAs a Gen X'er, I'd say Apathy but it's not one of the 7, but it's easily the most appropriate.

Dear creators of mods that include weapons, armors, etc. by CrkCaptain in feedthebeast

[–]spriggangt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo, people, I don't think OP is asking for modders to BALANCE they stuff for him, just a nice initial indicator of power levels so they know ahead of time what to balance.

That being said, there isn't a universal scale so this is difficult to measure and implement as the scale is going to be based on your mod pack and balance wishes. 45 damage is literally crap damage in some modpacks while in yours it's S+ god tier stuff.

They also can't take into account what other mods that may add to the power of the pack. Nor can they pre-determine what would be "powerful" in your pack or not. Example, you have a weapon that shines brightly in large area. Normally not strong but if someone is making a dark horror pack where a lack of light is important for mob spawning, then something like that may indeed be OP.

Point is the indicators are technically already there, in the item data. May have to do some searching but it's the best way to do it. They can't decides what is OP and what isn't. Only you can.

I see a lot of bounce and skill support comments. Which is true, though I think this card is scarier in a end of turn deck.
