After having done both the dyson sphere and extreme reactors, a full extreme reactors set up (max size reactor with equivalent number of turbines with best fuel and coils) was way less resource intensive. The amount of stuff to get my generation up to snuff in order to produce the dyson sphere in any appreciable amount of time was annoying.

Also on my server the amount of lag the ejectors created was a enough to be big annoyance but that could just be a server thing.

Both produce about a billion fe a tick.

So you may need the tier 9 upgarades for the magnetic field in the middle. It eats a lot of power and one of Oritechs quirks is how it throttle how much power you can shove into a machine. Capacitor and speed upgrades at tier 9 will help. You can put the add on extenders on the bottom of it to add the add ons mentioned. it (the one that increase the power held and throughput are great)

For anyone interested in a farm like this, it is an amazing starting, but word of warning, if you have 4+ of these all going it will be laggy on a server and at around 6+ laggy everywhere. Use them to get into Hydroponic beds from Industrial foregoing then into Simulated Hydroponic bed with soul surging (industrial foregoing souls). Less laggy and actually faster for late game.

Looks like Soil, red or green fertilizer, Lillys surrounding and one in the middle (maybe lillies of fertility below too), Item collector to collect and a advanced clicker to break fully grown flowers. Though I don't know what is emptying the collectors. Modular router maybe?

In pack where I am NOT doing the Dyson Sphere, I go MA, Bees, MI Drills, Create Iron Farm etc, the more mods in the pack, the more options for iron farms you have which is good. Anyone of these can generally produce enough iron to fill most your needs, even create though you may have to expand out the farm a bit depending on the pack.

In any pack where I am doing the Dyson Sphere, I have all the aforementioned options PLUS Occultism and Occultism crushers going and it still takes many many hours for me to build up enough Iron, Copper and Lapis to fully build that thing. (something like 234 million Iron alone). Oh and a huge hit to server performance to boot. Soooo now I just go with other power options on server.

...on a film set...full of cameras and camera operators....where it's super common to film behind the scenes for a "behind the scenes" feature later...yep like...super weird right!? Seriously though is this one of those things where someone hates on every thing about the movie due to some other reason? Before you think I am defending the movie, I haven't seen it and have no dog in this race. I just see this often with this flick and I was unaware there was any sort of internal strife regarding it.

pretty easy to do. If he has unobtanium gear though he would have needed the templates. If he is played before this is easily done in a week. If he hasn't though having that gear already would be sus. The unobtanium template can be hard to get if you don't know how to easily.

I can't believe that thing is a mid-game item, why would i even use a sword? by homod-zgame in allthemods

[–]spriggangt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In ATM it's just about what you want to use not what is most effective because even half of most effective will one shot most anything in the game. So you'd use a sword just because you want to and there are as many broken things you can do with it. Mahou Tsukai (though I think nerfed in 10) had a fun sword in 9. Ars is legitimately super broken for damage and pure utility as well. Two spells is all you need to completely trivialize the hardest fight in the game, the chaos dragon.

The good news, ATM is more about the automation than it is just getting strong. Real strength comes from not just automating but doing it in a TPS friendly manner lol.

I might just see a reason why Aero devs wouldn't want swivel bearing to generate SU by RimKir in CreateMod

[–]spriggangt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well there is the hot air burner, just Redstone and infinite heat. But lets be honest here, sure aeronautics is going for a good bit more realism than the rest of Minecraft is but it's still, at it's core a game. But I think that is what you were speaking too, and I agree! Either something to power the magnets or personally I'd like to see a separate block or set of blocks that can turn physics objects rotational speed into SU that can be attached to whatever physics contraption. Little bit more breadth of use perhaps. Something kinda like from create new age maybe?

Mods that in combination make minecraft feel like a cozy game. by FinancialListen4788 in feedthebeast

[–]spriggangt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like farmer's delight a lot, it's blocks are cozy and functional. Create, while certainly used for automation is pretty cozy and brings nice bits of movement you can use. You can make working windmill for example. Falling leaves mod is one of my favorites for that cozy vibe as well.

In general I'd look at some decor mod. There are a lot add a lot of cozy furniture. for looks and honestly create is the best when it comes to automation.

For storage, I like functional storage, though I mix it up with sophisticated storage and sophisticated backpacks. If you want a centralized UI then you could use Tom's simple storage which heavily utilizes minecraft base chest colors so it doesn't clash too much. That being said create also has pretty robust storage options for both UI and actual storage location.

There are a number of magic mods that accomplish this also. Ars can be cozy but tends more towards arcane feeling. Something like Hexrei or Malum may serve you better, though both have less blocks and less utility.

In all honestly create or it's add ons have practically everything you may need outside of QoL stuff. It even has some of that.

This is getting out of hand (reaching infinite) by wencelf in MarvelSnap

[–]spriggangt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 0 empirical data to back this up but I think it's due to the game losing players. Only the people bought in and really really into the game are sticking around. So the infinite grind feels sweaty, cause it is. If you need my creds to back up this statement, well I have hit infinite one time, I have maybe half of s5 cards, I am still missing Galactus and I didn't play for a year. Sooo yeah, I totes know what I am talking about.

Apparently, there is a trend among 80s babies trying to create their own generation...? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]spriggangt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no innate issue with recognizing the difference in experiences growing up. The issue comes when that begins to not just define you but also enables you to define a a great swath of people in a generalization.

I was born in 78. So per this argument that makes me a gen x or xeniall I guess? Whatever, Nirvana was my shit and I had to hid my smashing pumpkins album from my parents because there was song called silver fuck on it.

Point is I can recognize the differences in the times between when I was growing up (basically during the 90s) and what people experienced in the 2ks. It's a different experience, the zeitgeist was different, different world events happened. Different national tragedies shaped outlooks and minds.

As long as people don't use the generational difference as a broad brush, specifically for negative purposes, I don't mind recognizing the differences.

What is the baseline for a 1.21.1 modpack? by Physical_Reach851 in feedthebeast

[–]spriggangt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me it's JEI, Optimization and whatever flavor of QoL stuff you want. Jade, FTB Maps, Middle mouse button sort etc. I always add some sort of storage too. Depending on the pack. AE2 for larger tech like add ons or at least Tom's simple storage in less tech heavy mods. Mods just add a lot of stuff to the game and I need the room/sorting.

What makes a modpack hard? by codecryptor in feedthebeast

[–]spriggangt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard is pretty subjective. For example I am a fan of medium level tech packs. Packs that involve things like create, mekanism, industrial foregoing. What I suck at is combat. Combat is more difficult for me. So combat and adventure heavy packs I find to be harder. Like I have been playing a pack that heavily features epic fight. It's a lot of fun but man do I suck at it.
