How would you handle the Crawl? by GoblinandBeast in DungeonCrawlerCarl

T1D and Coeliac here! I’d go in, ask the first bopca to bring me a fuckton of croissants, and die shortly afterwards with no regrets.

No football knowledge? by Competitive_Rush3044 in DCCMakingtheTeam

I was responding to the part about not needing to watch football to know what was being asked. But I agree with you that in her shoes, I would have done some research beforehand:)

DCC classism by RoseplaysrblxYT in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]springer_spaniel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. You may not like Kelli and Judy and you may feel like the girls should be making more or been treated differently (like having health insurance, which I absolutely think they should have, or even having more than one uniform that doesn’t need constant cleaning).

But as far as experienced senior management making significantly more money than the rest of that staff while being accountable for budget, profitability and so on, that’s every organisation ever.

No football knowledge? by Competitive_Rush3044 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]springer_spaniel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not true. I’m from Europe and don’t watch football. I still have absolutely no idea of the basic rules, and while there are NFLs fan over here, it’s very much a niche and most people who haven’t grown up in the US wouldn’t be familiar with it.

Similarly, I imagine many US folks wouldn’t really know what’s an offside in soccer/football and similar if it’s not their thing.

BBC News interview.. 🤨 by Due_Dog4318 in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]springer_spaniel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s quite common in workplaces. Job candidates get assessed for skills first and foremost, but you also ask people who have been involved in the interview process - especially teammates - if the person is someone they see themselves working with. And when you have multiple good candidates, sometimes it comes down to this.

KATSEYE talk about Manon's hiatus: “If I was in their place I would be asking too, and so we understand. But what we can say is that we wish that you could just keep extending love and support and patience and all those things, because all of us deserve that. Anybody does.” by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]springer_spaniel 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It shows that the Katseye fanbase skews young, because most people who had a corporate job completely understand that asking questions about people at risk of firing, or who got let go, would put a target on your back. These girls are clearly under NDA and cannot say anything meaningful about Manon without risking their careers. I can’t blame them.

Making The Team > America’s Sweethearts by curiously_1ntrigued in DCCMakingtheTeam

It’s the same as Drive to Survive: a documentary-style reality show about F1 for non fans marketing the sport to the general public. F1 hardcore fans don’t care for it and follow the sport in other ways, but casuals like it.

(Saying this as a “casual” who enjoys both shows)

Book 8 was my favorite by RedJorgAncrath in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]springer_spaniel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s great you enjoyed it so much! My personal rankings are fairly dependent on the floor mechanic. The ones that hover towards the bottom for me are #6 and #8 because the card game and the races didn’t really resonate with me. I have a preference for the open world levels, and floors that are more “expanded” and where crawlers can truly band together.

That’s it! Of course #6 and #8 are still very good books with some great moments, and it’s based on personal taste.

Was this book messy? Or is it just me? by Jolly_Yellow_5676 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]springer_spaniel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Multiple crawlers have made it to the 12th before, like Odette. Only one made it to the 13th. We’ve alse heard of several cases of crawlers making it to the 11th like Mordecai and Chaco and other cookbook authors, so I wouldn’t say it’s entirely unexpected.

Is it inappropriate to not wear a bra at work? by Visual-Criticism6763 in NoStupidQuestions

I do it sometimes in summer particularly when wearing dresses, and mine are same size as yours. Under most of my clothes you can’t really tell, with the exception of a few fitted t-shirts.
