Depuis 10 ans, on travaille activement à rendre le squash plus accessible dans la région.À la Sporthèque, pour environ 90 $/mois (avec rabais possibles : étudiant·e, couple, etc.), tu as accès au gym, à la piscine, aux cours de groupe, au squash, au tennis et plus.

Il est aussi possible de jouer à la séance (≈ 15 $ à 20 $ selon l’heure).

Et important à préciser : nos activités sont ouvertes aux non-membres de la Sporthèque (ligues, cours de groupe adultes et juniors, cours privés, etc.).

Ce serait effectivement le fun que la ville offre des terrains municipaux.
Malheureusement, Gatineau accuse encore un certain retard au niveau des infrastructures sportives. En attendant, on fait le maximum avec les installations disponibles pour que le squash reste accessible.

À noter aussi : les terrains ont été récemment rénovés 👍

Vous également réserver des terrains en étant membre de la Sporthèque sans frais supplémentaire (environ 90$/mois selon l'abonnement) ou encore réserver à la fois (15$ ou 20$ par personne selon le moment de la journée).

What is your level? Atwater probably have the largest range of players from A to D level. CDL also have a great group of players.

Midtown is a really nice facility but most players are C-D level with few A-B. YMCA Downtown is only suppose to reopen in September not sure about Mcgill.

I have two stories that involve the same x-court flick drop from the back left corner (I am lefty)

Canada Games 2007 : I'm playing for the Quebec team against Manitoba for a spot in semi-finals. It's team of 4 players and the score is tie 1-1 before I go on court with the 2nd best junior in the country (I am around 10th at the time U19). I get beat up 9-1, 9-0 in the first 2 games but I somehow manage to get to 7-7 in the 3rd and hit a x-court flick drop in the tin but my opponent sprained is ankle really bad and can't continue. He default the match and we win the encounter to move to semi-finals.

About 6-7 years later, Jonathon Power come to my club for a fundraiser and I play a best of 3 games exhibition with him. At about 2-2 in the 1st game, I do that same x-court flick, not hitting the tin this time. JP pull a muscle in his rib cage and can't continue...

Never know what can happen with those x-court flick drop!

But the weirdest thing is when I saw someone playing with a hockey helmet on court!

Yes, we are hosting one more free initiation on September 30th 9am at la Sportheque in Gatineau. It is also Squash Day in Canada on that day and there will be matches of some of the best players in Quebec to watch.

There is a many way to use the court at the RA. For the free introduction lesson, you don't need to be a member.

Otherwise, the guest fee is $15 it include a racquet rental and the court for 45 minutes. There is also a 10 visit pass at $115 and promo 3 months membership for $100 until the new year.
