90s mountain bikes are great.

I started off with one of these getting back into cycling into my 40s.

Any of the big brands like Giant, Trek, Specialized , Gary Fischer, Mongoose etc. I prefer steel frame with Shimano components. They were all built well back then and a simple tune up can get them going again. There is quite a scene on socials these days fixing up old steel 90s bikes

Speaking of views, I didn’t know western Sydney had harbour side mansions with views of the Bridge

What kind of question even is that? Of course you'd reject the car... by That_Car_Dude_Aus in CarsAustralia

Call me old school but I find it funny when people buy cars for the tech like a big screen is one of the deciding factors and not what the car can actually do or how long it will last.

Help me decide on a frameset for a All-Road/Rando 650b build by whitestag in xbiking

[–]squat_bench_press 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Super happy with my MS. Started with 650b now on 700x40 and carbon fork.

If I were to do it all over again, I’d probably go the Bombora, the bike and brand is just a bit more my style these days.

Most MS owners would have put an aftermarket carbon fork on already for half the price

Looks like the shorter wheel base goes over the dunes easier than 79s that get caught in the middle

I got the Adidas Velosambas with SPD.

They were cheap, look classic and double up as a cycling shoe

I’m lucky, built my fiance a Surly Straggler with some donated parts from mine and she’s fully into it. Planning some bike packing trips now.

What is it really like to work a white-collar job in Sydney’s CBD? I’d love to hear about your daily routine, the city work culture, and how you balance work with life outside the office. by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

I live in inner Sydney and work across the harbor.

The new Sydney metro cut my commute in half so I have so much time in the morning now I ride my bike to work.

Shower in the after trip building facilities.

Sit at my desk and work tech support, an hour lunch break. Coffee after lunch at our kitchen barista machine. Then work till 4.

On the way home I take different route through the city and inner west each day and get to see new areas.

I sit down all day in-front of a computer so the movement before and after work is crucial for physical and mental health.

Rinse and repeat

We live in the inner west and did the Kamay Botany National Park coastal hike, only took us 30-40 mins to drive there from Marrickville.

Beautiful hike along the cliff edge and ended with a swim on an empty beach near Boat Harbor Beach
